"One night stay"
Paid over $300 for a view of a wall but services were good but room was not impressive. Front desk was terrific. Parking and logistics getting in and out of Valet were challenging so glad the parking was free.
"What a treat!"
What a treat! This hotel is one of my favs in LA. The lobby is quaint and inviting. Champagne while checking in? Nice touch! Best if checking in with Starwood status. Amazing staff! The rooms are so comfortable and the balcony overlooking the Santa Monica sunset is definitely a PLUS! Easy access to 3rd street promenade, beach, shops, restaurants... oh, did I mention complementary valet???ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
"Not overly impressed due to conditions of rooms"
I contemplated between a 3 and 4 star review, but ended up going with a 3 simply based on the class of this hotel and the price. Pros: - Friendly and efficient staff - Utilized the concierge service and it was excellent, even booking a table at a restaurant for dinner - Vending machines on the floors (I'm old school and this is just always convenient) - Lobby and bar are very impressive looking - The gym, while small, has updated equipment and looks nice. Be warned it does get crowded beginning at about 6:30 AM - Beds were mostly comfortable - Rooms are a good size Cons: - For the price of the hotel, the room I stayed in was not all that impressive - The shower was dirty with someone's hair leftover (still wasn't cleaned on second day) - The paneling of the room showed obvious signs of wear - The a/c in my room barely worked. I had to sleep without covers for the two nights I was there. By the second night it was just blowing out warm air (this all despite the fact I had it down to 65 degrees) - There was "emergency maintenance" required that prevented guests from using water from 12 AM to 5 AM. Not really the hotel's fault, but it still impacts my stay - Views from the rooms aren't all that impressive - While it didn't impact me, there are rooms that face out over a balcony that overlook the lobby and bar, and that can get really loud at night Overall Thoughts A nice hotel in a decent location, but for the price my company paid (not to mention the price that I saw advertised on their website) the conditions of the rooms would make this a no-go unless they improve the rooms.
"Good stay at Delfina"
We stayed for 3 days on a business trip and we were happy with room, service, value and especially free valet parking which our guests really appreciated. We did have to ask for our welcome drink but otherwise service was good. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset; I believe most rooms have a view but ask to be sure!! Bar and food service was excellent. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the hotel is slightly run down for the price. I might try a newer, better value hotel next time. Apparently it was a family owned hotel and after its recent conversion to a Starwood, there are more business than family visitors.
"Nice place but expensive for the experience"
J think of Le Meridian as a very high end hotel but this one is really just a nice hotel- nothing special. It is about three blocks from the beach-but not on it. The restaurant, reviewed elsewhere , is kind of an after thought. The pool is a decent size but not surrounded by a particularly nice ambience. Room is gray, black and white- modern but not cozy or particularly stylish. Bathroom is cramped- but good size bath tub - Good sized TV and free Wi-Fi but again its not a special experience- and prices can start at over 400 dollars. / Staff is very nice and there is a car service to near by locations Meeting rooms are small and some are dimly lit. Very nice breakfast buffets though. There is a bar on the Mezzanine that is sparely furnished but a nice space- also one on the main floor.
