"Best trip to Santa Monica"

I usually do not complete reviews on trip advisor but I must make an exception for our recent stay at the Loews Santa Monica! Everyone we encountered at the hotel provided excellent service! I must make a special note to say that Michele P. at the front desk provided exceptional service at check in and during our stay! She is a tremendous add in value to the Loews brand! We are on a 10 day trip having stayed at the W Hotel SF and Kimpton Hotel in SD as apart of our trip, the Loews Santa Monica and Michele have provided the best service thus far! When visiting the Santa Monica area in the past we've stayed at the Shore Hotel, this will change going forward having the Loews Santa Monica as our home base, thanks to Michele and all of the other Loews employees!

"Good place!!"

I have thought about staying here in the past but reviews kept me away UNTIL..... I saw they had remodeled! Can't beat a fresh update and that definitely is true here! There are things. When booking, be sure to ask for a quiet room. Can't beat the proximity to the beach. The remodel is divine. Colors are greys and blues. Very modern and relaxing. The price is competitive- sure it's not right on the beach but the half block difference saves you $200/night. Walking distance to everything! Great restaurants all around. Lots of lovely sitting spots with fire pits. I recommend this to you.

We visit Santa Monica 4 or 5 times per year and stay at various places. I wrote a review of the worst experience ever at the Casa Del Mar Hotel and vowed to never stay there again. After staying at the Loews in the past multiple times we thought we would try it again on this trip and the newly renovated rooms were amazing. The service at every level was world class. We will not be bouncing around from the various beach hotels in Santa Monica. Loews is where we will be staying from now on

"Beautiful Hotel, Stunning Location"

First - all of the staff members are genuinely welcoming. I had many short conversations with many of the staff and they all seemed friendly and truly engaged in providing excellent Customer Service. Sorry - I forgot to actually take note of the names of the door, bell, desk and housekeeping staff, but they were all 5 out of 5. Mauricio and Damien (hope I spelled these both correctly!) at the pool bar are to be given an extra thank you for perfect service! As with ALL the staff on site - they went out of their way to ensure that we were enjoying our stay, served us quickly and in a very friendly and professional manner. Secondly - the location and hotel itself are beautiful. I have never been to Santa Monica. We thoroughly investigated hotels and took a long time to decide and this hotel did not disappoint. We arrived early and our rooms as expected were not ready, but this was not an issue because the perfect weather and beautiful views (and good service) at the pool bar kept us very content and entertained. The fire pits in the evening are fun, welcoming and allow the continued enjoyment of staying outside long after the beautiful sunsets. The lobby, inside bar and public areas are also very comfortable, relaxing, well appointed, provide a gorgeous ocean view and possibly most of all - capture the whole beach-California color scheme and ambience. As for food - we did not eat in the dining room, but had a couple meals at the pool bar and all the food was very good. I had intended to spend much more time exploring Santa Monica, but the hotel provided such pleasant surroundings and good food that we ended up here more than elsewhere. The hotel is wonderful for the proximity to the beach (and great for people watching - especially Muscle Beach and the Pier!). We were only there for 2 nights and it was October so we did not spend that much time on the beach. But I still took full advantage of enjoying the sand and walking by the water and the ocean views. I stayed on the 8th floor and had a wonderful Juliette style "balcony" with a great, full ocean view (and a full view of the pool and bar, etc.). My room was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and well organized. Along with other visitors - I did miss a bathtub especially being at the beach, but I was only there for 2 nights so not a deal breaker. My only complaint about my room - and is which is why I am not rating the hotel with 5 stars - is that is in fact VERY noisy. I almost hate to have to make this complaint as the hotel seems otherwise almost perfect. But when I say noisy - I mean it was like being in an echo chamber. The first night - I listened to people coughing on and off, phones ringing, TVs, conversations, etc. I did not sleep much. The second night did not seem so bad, but I was either so tired that I finally slept or the rooms close by were not occupied (or most likely both). I do not know how they can fix this problem, but it is a real issue and I did notice that many other visitors have previously complained. The only other comment I have about rooms is that my mom booked a ground floor fire pit room. It is actually ground level, but the tall concrete wall and glass make it feel like a basement apartment. I can appreciate that they did this for privacy and safety, but it makes the room/patio dark and a bit unwelcoming. Her room also had the weird frosted glass between the bed and the shower. She was alone so it wasn't an issue, but I agree with other guests that it would be awkward depending on who else was in the room. One last positive note - the gift shop was lovely. I toured 3rd Street Promenade and ended up only making purchases here at the hotel gift shop. Otherwise a great hotel! I would definitely recommend it and would love to return.

"October weekend getaway"

When we first got to the property the they informed is that they overbooked it and we wouldn't have to move to a new hotel for the night (this was less then ideal when you are expecting to stay at the property you booked. I would have given the hotel five stars but I found the front desk staff to not be the friendliest of people. I understand things happen but you should at least own up to the problem and speak to the customers who lost a day at the hotel with the utmost happiness (customer service 101). At the end of the day they made it up to us and our stay was great. The hotel was BEAUTIFUL, the valet service workers were very friendly! The hotel is in the center of everything so you have a short walk to all the amenties of Santa Monica. Across the street is the pier and the beach. You can walk to the third street prominade, great restaurants, and public transportation all in short distances. The guest room was very clean and roomy (we could see the pier from our room). The only thing I noticed was that at night since the lobby is open to all the floors if you have an inside room you can hear noises from the lobby through the walls. Food and service at the hotel was all top knotch. We had an amazing weekend and we can't wait to come back! Thank you for a great stay!
