Het subtropische klimaat en de ligging aan de Pacific maken een bezoek aan Los Angeles het hele jaar door mogelijk.
"Customer Service and Faulty Room"
I have just completed my first night of a stay at the LAX Marriott. While I was pleased with my room initially, overnight the light sensor in my room malfunctioned. This caused the lights to come on randomly multiple times in the night. Needless to say I got very little sleep. When I complained the next morning they eventually fixed the problem but said there would be no adjustment to my bill because i already had a discounted rate. So let me get this straight, because I was staying at a conference rate it was unfortunate but OK that I didn't sleep because of a hotel caused malfunction. WHAT!!!! Ridiculous!
"Don't gouge for Wifi"
Most hotels I stay at offer free WiFi as part of their regular room fees. This hotel decides to charge guests $15 a day to have basic wifi in the rooms. Guys, it's 2017. Most coffee shops have free wifi. Please don't gouge your customers with extra fees for something that should come standard.
"5 Star stay"
To be honest I was a little nervous about this stay because of the renovation reviews but I was waaaaay wrong! I loved my stay here it was amazing!! For starters we had an issue with the airport so we were obviously not able to check in the Thursday we had reserved for, I called and was on the phone with someone within the first 2 rings I explained to Michelle what happened and she reasurred me it would be okay for us to check in on Friday morning. (Michelle thank you so much for that!) So Friday we checked in around 3ish and Adolfo (I think was his name?) was soooo nice and polite. He even upgraded our room and gave us a pool view with a balcony. The room was spacious, clean and everything was brand new. I fell in love with the bathroom my boyfriend who is very picky when it comes to bathrooms had not one bad thing to say about this one! Plus the shower pressure is GREAT! Ohh and the fridge in the room was amazing too! It froze a water bottle we left in there over night. I was able to see a little bit if the renovations from across the pool but if it wasn't for seeing them from my room and reading reviews I wouldn't have even noticed. The front lobby was so nice and new plus there was always this fresh citrus scent everytime we walked by. The elevators were always quick and there's a Starbucks and a little shop. The self parking always had a sign that said it was full but I drove past it anyway and always found a couple empty spots. Thanks for a great stay I will return! 5 Star plus if I could!
"Airport hotel undergoing renovations"
Older hotel undergoing renovations, staff Good, location is good. Rooms available for stay were fine, noisy outside. Inside was ok. Restaurant was good. Would wait for renovations to be completed if I was staying with my family, but more than adequate for a business meeting, staff and support were great. Pool is very nice but noise is problematic if youâ€™re looking for a snooze
"First night was horrendous, moved us the second night!"
We checked in late evening following a long trip back from Las Vegas. We were staying for 5 nights and were given a twin room despite specifying a double room in our booking. We were told they couldn't move us that night as all rooms were taken. What was worse was the room we stayed in first night, it was on the first floor, ridiculously old with 80's decor, out of the window we had a lovely view of a skip and some building work. We did not sleep all night, and were daunted by the prospect of spending 5 nights in that room. I wrote a complaint email via Booking.com and my partner went to reception in the morning, and we were soon moved to a newer room which was much better. It was a shame we had to endure the first night, getting a twin when we didn't book one. The hotel was also going through some major (much needed) refurbishment, so there was a lot of disruption. The pool area is nice (to look at) but they don't appear to clean it very often, the pool and jacuzzi was full of all kinds leaves and dirt! We soon evacuated when we switched the jacuzzi on and saw loads of rubbish surface to the top of water. Hotel needs to pay a bit more attention to detail!
