Los Angeles is eigenlijk een verzameling van woongebieden, samen goed voor net zoveel inwoners als heel Nederland! Het subtropische klimaat en de ligging aan de Pacific maken een bezoek aan Los Angeles het hele jaar door mogelijk.
"Wonderful place "
Had a wonderful vacation to Las Angels and stayed at the Marriott LAX. They have newly updated very modern rooms, and the beds are so comfortable. The kids loved the heated pool, the grounds are gorgeous. We will definitely be back.
"Airport Shuttle Service is a sorry situation here"
We booked this Hotel because it was so close to the airport and (we understood) that there was continuous shuttle service. We wanted to stay as close to LAX as we could, as we were putting our daughter with baby and lots of luggage on a red-eye flight to Harrisburg, as she was relocating to Pennsylvania. (Her husband began Medical School there in May.) So, we all checked into this Marriott. Shuttle service was of extreme importance. Our daughter had a rental car (which we returned after she flew out), and with the baby and the luggage, we could not all fit inside. So, the night of the flight, she drove to the LAX parking lot, and the plan was that we would come in with the shuttle, pick up carts, and meet her by the car. She left the Hotel in the rental car, while we waited and waited and waited for that Shuttle. We had just boarded, when our daughter called to say, that she was all parked in the lot, and waiting for us. GULP !!! We had just gotten on the shuttle. Then, the shuttle got caught in traffic, and then, at Terminal 2, so many people got on with so much luggage, that not only was the luggage rack completely stacked, but there was all this luggage on the floor. I don't understand how this is not a safety hazard! We were worried that we might not be able to leave, as luggage and people were everywhere, and this was only Terminal 2. We were going to Terminal 7. When it was our time to get out, we had to climb over suitcases on the floor. We, as well as our daughter were all becoming very anxious, as this was so time consuming. Had we known, we would have taken a cab. Our daughter left the Hotel the same time we did, arrived in the parking lot, and waited almost one hour for us to get there on the Hotel Shuttle. If you are going to run a Hotel by the airport, it's mandatory to have more frequent and dependable shuttles. Everywhere we've traveled, we have never seen luggage stacked on the floor blocking the aisle. The driver should have refused entrance to at least 8 people. Airport Marriott Hotels should have shuttles running every ten minutes, not every half an hour. However, our 2 night stay at this Marriott was really very nice. There was construction going on, and we knew that both from the website and an email we received, however, it interfered with nothing. We were barely aware of it. All the staff, we interacted with, were very nice and very helpful. Our room on the 7th floor was newly remodeled, and very comfortable. We also had access to the Lounge on the 18th floor, and wow what a lovely Lounge !! You could just sit there on comfortable couches and watch the planes landing and taking off. Everything they offered there for snacks or meals was delicious, and beautifully presented. We loved that Lounge. I would have given a FIVE, but due to this very poor shuttle situation/organization cannot give more than three dots/stars.
Nice Marriot! Staff is very customer oriented and make you feel at home. Room was very contemporary and was very nice! They are remodeling but we didn't even notice. Got a couple of restaurants inside but I think they were over priced. Overall, this Marriot Was s good stay!
"Great location to pick up a Hertz rental car"
We only stayed here one night for the convenience of coming in late from a flight. The check-in procedure took WAY too long even though we had a reservation and checked-in via their APP. There was no one to give us our room keys, so we had to wait in line with everyone who did not have a reservation, two lines, five people deep. Finally at the desk, the attendant kept trying to tell us we needed to pay for parking for a car we were picking up the next day. ?? No, again "we do not have a car to park." However, getting the car the next day was GREAT. Thank you to Alex from Hertz. We saved about $60 on a weekly rental getting the car at the hotel rather than picking it up "at" the airport. The airport location is further away from the airport, than the hotel.
"Lovely Hotel, Wonderful Service and Good Food"
We go to the Marriott now and again just to relax and give our grandson a wonderful pool to play in. Each room is clean and comfortable. They are not huge, but just fine. Grab a room near the pool if you plan on staying in the water for any length of time. If you want quiet, grab a room higher up. They are all great. They may still be under renovation, but there is room for you and the work will not interfere with your fun. The pool area is great. It is not huge, it is just a super nice size with lovely places to sit and even eat if you want. The main restaurant there is quite good. They serve all meals and anyone can find something they will like and the service is wonderful. We especially love the front desk staff, they are always kind and helpful. The hotel is near LAX, so you can stay there as a layover if you want and Hertz is right there as well. Enjoy.
