"Very comfortable, good room service selections, friendly staff. I will return!"

The architecture of this hotel is lovely: four round towers surrounding a central hub. It is a large hotel, 1300 rooms, I was told. But, despite the scale, the service is prompt and friendly. I used the lobby bar, the "lakeside" restaurant for lunch and room service twice for breakfast and lunch. Good menu selection and attention. The room was standard, but roomy enough. Some reviewers have said that the property is dated, but I thought the room appointments were quite up to date. I liked this hotel and will return.

"Very good business hotel"

This hotel has food options and a huge lobby bar area to have meetings. It can be a bit pricey but ease of use is great. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. It is close to the convention center and LA live. Decor in rooms and general areas of the hotel is very dated.

"Marriott loyal trying Westin"

The Westin Bonaventure was my first Westin after Marriott Acquisition of Starwood and it was pretty good. The property is a bit dated but the room was very nice and the gym was really good. The food court is really cheesy and the pub on the 4th floor was okay. The only thing is there is no lounge which I'm used to with Marriott and really enjoy when traveling.

"Not up to the usual Westin standards"

Strange building and doesn't feel the same as other Westins I've been to. It takes a bit of time to work out how to navigate round, the floor where some of the eating places are doesn't have a stop in the elevator.. My room was a good size and the staff are really helpful.

"Time for an upgrade"

Don't get me wrong - the hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, but this place is trapped forever in the 1980s. Yes, the rooms have LCD rather than tube tvs, but the decor is decidedly 1980s. I don't care for all of the walking in the circle one must do to get to where one wants to go to exit the building, for example. There are five elevator banks - all identified by a color - and you cannot get a taxi on the lobby floor. You have to go to the 3rd or 1st floor by elevator, then take an escalator or stairs to the 2nd floor. I ordered room service once because I got back to my room rather late without having eaten. I ended up paying $9 for a small bottle of Coca Cola (that's without the tax and service charge). The rotating bar upstairs is pretty cool and the lemon drops are delicious, but the prices are high, unsurprisingly. Additionally, valet parking is $47/day, which is painful. Will I stay there again? Yes, probably, but only if work is paying for it. It's not really my cup of tea.
