"Ants and Noisy Neighbors!"
We were booked to stay 2 nights and elected to stay 1. The room was infested with ants and the walls and ceilings were very thin. The toilet was loose and the person who greeted us when checking in was anything but hospitable. We were doubtful the sheets were clean as we found hairs in the bed (normal check). All this for slightly under $200/night during "off season". Will NOT stay here again!
"Breakfast was Nice!"
The best thing about this stay was the breakfast. You can find breakfasts that are just cold cereal, or pastries, all day long. You can find lots of places that let you make a waffle. But this place went above and beyond! There were the usual items, but there were also hash browns, sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and oatmeal. The biggest surprise was a sign encouraging us to try making a breakfast sandwich with ham, cheese on an English muffin. The novelty was their toaster -- it was a conveyor belt type. All in all, this breakfast was one of the more interesting that I've seen. It was tasty, too.
"Nice Lobby and Breakfast Area"
The lobby and breakfast area appear new and are in good shape. The rest of the hotel (motel?) could use a renovation. The rooms are accessed from the outside parking area via a covered walkway. The flat screen TV is standard definition. The room floors are hard surfaced, which probably makes sense with so much sand around, but causes the room to be loud. The location is in the heart of the downtown.
"Well decorated rooms, but disappointing service"
We stayed at 3 hotels in Moab during this particular trip and frankly, none of the staff were very friendly. This one, however, was the worst. We arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon and asked if it was possible to check in early. The girl who greeted us made it clear that we were interrupting her and rudely told us check in was at 4. (Yes, it is almost always 3 or 4, but we have very rarely been turned away at other hotels if rooms are available). It was no big deal for us and we returned at 4 to find other, friendlier staff at the front desk. Our room looked lovely, but there was an odor reminiscent of gas or chemicals in the bathroom, and the room itself smelled like pesticide. The tub has some sort of plastic overlay, which was ripped. I have young kids, and they were not able to take baths for this reason. Water seeped out of the rip whenever we showered. There were no pool towels and we did not have enough towels in our room. We heard noise from above from about 5 a.m. until check out, and not just a few bumps but loud dragging. Breakfast was crowded, but there was plenty of seating. The eggs were awful, biscuits and gravy were typical of hotels. We didn't realize they served made to order pancakes until we were leaving, as there was no sign and staff made no effort to direct anyone. Breakfast staff seemed irritated to have to walk through people to fill coffee urns and clean tables. The coffee was relatively good. This wasn't the worst hotel we've ever stayed in, but it was definitely some of the most unhappy staff we've encountered. The room was clean but very small and there are no stand-out amenities. There are many better, cheaper hotels in town. We stayed at another hotel in the area for less than half the price and the room was nicer with a much friendlier and helpful staff. We won't stay here again.
"Great location and price"
Looked like typical motel from outside but our room was large & clean, with table and chairs.Shower worked well. We slept well as very comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful and friendly, we had issue with telephone in room that was resolved immediately. Breakfast was good, staff were continually cleaning and replenishing. Pancakes cooked to order. We used the laundry and it was very efficient and resonably priced. Hotel is in middle of Moab and easy to walk to everything in town, supermarket only a block away. It is a short drive to Arches national Park. We stayed 3 nights at good value price and we would stay again
