"Good Hotel for Price/Location"

We stay 2 nights here while visiting Carmel/Monterey area. I chose this hotel based on good reviews, price, and location. This hotel is NOT in the downtown area of Carmel-by-the-sea. However, it only takes 3 minutes to drive and was really not a big deal at all. You can easily see the hotel is old and has gone through renovations. The renovations are well done and our room was nice. We were on the 4th floor and picked/paid for a room with a balcony that was supposed to over look the pool area. We could only see like 3 feet of the pool - so that was disappointing but not a big deal. We probably could have fussed to the staff about it, but we just aren't those kind of people. The pool area seemed very nice but we were there in January and it was much too cold to use. We also selected their "Bed and Breakfast" option. We were given two vouchers to eat breakfast at their on-site restaurant. The food was okay and it was convenient, but there were not many options on the menu and I honestly would skip that next time and go check out the other hundreds of food options in and around Carmel. Overall, nice stay and would recommend to others!

"A Nice & Comfortable Stay"

In town a few years ago, we booked this hotel out of the blue. We had a positive experience so we booked it again in December 2016. We had a nice experience and we enjoyed the renovations. We stayed on the top floor overlooking the hills. It has a mid-century modern feel and it is done well. We had a very nice check in and overall it was good. I recommend it.

"Dated to say the least"

All I can say about this hotel is that had we not been exhausted by the time we reached Carmel we would have checked out and looked for another hotel. The best thing about this hotel is The Barnyard (shops, galleries & restaurants) located across the parking lot. We had a wonderful breakfast the next morning at From Scratch located in The Barnyard.

"Family Trip up the Coast"

At first glance, it looks like an old Motor Lodge and my family thought I had not picked a good hotel! I booked based upon reviews and frankly, there also wasn't much to choose from as it was during the holidays. The price was good and we booked two rooms. We were on a 10 day trip and we stayed one night here on our way up the coast. We had huge suitcases and the biggest downside was there were no elevators and we were on the 2nd floor. In the hotel's defense, they did offer help with our bags but we declined. Once we got to the room, everyone was pleasantly surprised. They are nicely done, but a bit small, could be larger, but it was good for one night. I would stay here again. You are only a few miles from Point Lobos and a couple miles from the downtown quaint area of Carmel.

"A weekend away in Carmel"

With no knowledge of places to stay in Carmel , I took a chance and book this Inn for six of us and a small dog. All worked out very well. Our grandson with asthma was able to have a rug less room. The two grandkids and their parents really enjoyed the swimming pool. The rooms that are advertised as deluxe are not quite up to my standards but our room was clean and fine. We discovered that there are better rooms with a cabana outside. In warm weather it would be nice when using the pool. Breakfast buffet is adequate but nothing special. The wait staff was very accommodating to my dairy free and gluten free requirements. The price was right and it all worked out well for our family gathering.
