"Close to all and a good value."
We stay here every time we come to Palm Springs. It is close to downtown, walk to Starbucks, Coffee Bean, restaurants and movie theater. Our kids enjoy the pool. We get the upgraded larger rooms, because they are more spacious and seem to be in better condition than the cheapest rooms. The staff is very helpful. We had issues with some guests blasting music. We complained immediately the issue was resolved.
"Hotel close to food and shops"
We love to stay here because the rates are generally reasonable and it's very close to shops and restaurants. The rooms and pool are nice but not the most updated. There is no bar or room service but restaurants are so close it's no big deal.
The pool area was decent, but no beach towels. The room was unacceptable and I had to switch. Don't let them put you in 218. It was musty and depressing. I asked to be moved to another room, which was 10% better. They need to update the rooms, coat a paint and updated furniture will do wonders. Happy it was only one night, I would have checked out early if I had to stay longer. It is close to shops and restaurants so that you can escape the depressing rooms.
"week before eaSTER"
Facility is dated but the room has all that is needed. Pool area was crowded as I was there week of school holiday.. Nearby restaurants are handy if without a car. I also took celebrity Tour of homes and enjoyed the stop and complimentary date shake.
"Could Have Been Better"
This hotel is well-located and adequate -- a good, affordable base if your expectations are modest and you're not planning to spend too much time at the hotel. The pool/poolside area is pleasant, but would have been much easier and more enjoyable to spend time at if there had been an opportunity to order food and drinks on-site (the hotel has no on-site restaurant or bar, though you can order "room service" from a restaurant a few blocks away). The lack of service in this regard makes the "resort" designation and fee a bit questionable. Our room was large enough to accommodate 2 queen beds plus a not-so-comfortable rollaway. The room smelled like stale smoke when we walked in. We called to complain and were told all the rooms were non-smoking, so... end of story. No attempt to move us to another room or make efforts to freshen up the existing one. Our biggest complaint was the wi-fi: it was down *several* times in our short 3-night stay and was spotty when it worked. As professionals on a getaway, we weren't there to be on our computers, but we still needed consistent and reliable internet to be able to deal with any work issues that might come up, and in this day and age, it's not too much to expect that any reputable hotel will be able to provide this, especially when they are charging for it as part of the "resort fee". Our last day, we tried to enjoy a day at the pool, but found it nearly impossible due to a guest with a poolside suite who set up two speakers outside his room right by the pool and blared terrible music at high volume for hours on end. We made a complaint to the front desk, but if they asked the guest to turn it down, it definitely did not work and they did nothing to follow up. You would think that the hotel might care about one guest ruining dozens of others' pool experience. A policy against loud outdoor music should be a no-brainer. Very disappointing.
