First, I'm not someone who looks for problems/faults. If you check out my ratings, most are 4 or better. SO, I'LL BEGIN WITH THE POSITIVES: The bed was great. We had a good sleep. The establishment is close to many restaurants & a 10-minute drive (or less) to the Indian Canyons. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and the shower was pleasant. Strong Wi-Fi, too. (No pass codes needed). NEGATIVES: For the amount I spent ($238 for a king bed), I didn't expect to be greeted with a terrible carpet smell. You know, like the ones you'll smell in a cheapo hotel. This is an old hotel. Has to be. You could hear conversations from other rooms; the slamming of front doors, or hot water faucets being shut. If you're a light sleeper, you will have issues. We had to turn on the fan to drown out the noise. (Hence the good sleep, on a comfy bed). And I was in a "quiet" room. Quiet means you're not overlooking the pool. However, at 8:30 am (on a Monday holiday), the landscaper had his leafblower on. My goodness, if you're going to start at that hour, why not sweep? He was using the machine to clear the pathway, that's all. Someone left a review that vouchers were given for breakfast. We weren't given any. (No, I didn't ask. Should I have?) PS My son and his bride loved their stay. But they didn't pay for their room, and considering they usually a pitch a tent in the woods, I'd love it, too! They did enjoy sitting on the balcony, eating their breakfast.
"Excellent Location/Nice Resort"
A very nice hotel located right downtown in Palm Springs. Only half a block to the Main Street with many shops and restaurants plus Village Fest on Thursday nights. The hotel has a beautiful setting with orange, lemon and grapefruit trees on the premises as well as lovely palm trees. The pool area was very inviting with a big pool, a great hot tub, lots of loungers and tables and a fire to keep you warm in the evening. It would be nice if the hot tub stayed open to 11 o'clock at night. My room was on the third floor overlooking the pool and with a view of the mountains. The room was quite big and the bed was comfortable but kind of high. There was a table and 2 chairs, a comfy chair and footstool, a fridge, microwave and safe. The area by the fridge and table was kind of dark so could use more light. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay at Palm Mountain Resort again.
"When can I go back"
Palm Mountain Resort and Spa was one of the best surprises ever. My boyfriend and I were there for Desert Trip Music Festival, and this could not have been a better place to book for this event. At first I was apprehensive by how far it was from the concert grounds, but very near our hotel was a shuttle that took us directly there, so that was no problem. And in the end, being away from the concert was the best thing ever. We spent the morning sleeping in in our giant king sized bed, swimming by the gorgeous pool, and walking around Palm Springs (super central). I loved seeing the mountain from our room and all the palm trees. Literally, so luxurious, felt like I was in Mexico, I want to go here every year!!!!
Where do I begin...I had to change rooms 3 times losing my pool view room I paid more for to get into their new building which provided me a view of a small shared courtyard with a firepit that I couldn't use because it rained. The"new" room looked like they bought furniture from a liquidator and was already worn but yet better than the old old crap they had in their premium rooms?! The first two rooms smelled bad. At least the "new" one didn't. The pillows suck so if you are going to stay here bring your own! The best part of this hotel and they know it is their location. Smack dab in the middle of everything. For the price I paid even with my groupon was over 250/night which is absolutely ridiculous. It is a $100 room at best. I would never ever if they paid me not stay there again.
Booked through Expedia. We were given the room right beside the stairs on the bottom floor. We heard every footstep from the stairs and the upstairs room. The carpet in our room was stained to the extent that it made us afraid to even walk around the room without shoes on. The bed sheets were all crooked and the pillows were horrendous. This is supposed to be a relaxing getaway but it ended up being quite a letdown because of this hotel..
