"Great Family Vacation!"
We recently returned from a week-long stay in a 3-bedroom. 3-bath villa with three adults and three kids. The rooms are amazing - all newly renovated and very nicely appointed. Full kitchens. In-unit washer and dryer. And plenty of space. Its really the perfect setup for a family. The pools are wonderful. Each of the 4 pools has a different "personality" - even with the kids, we found the "playground/water-slide pool" to be a little too crazy for us - so we opted for one of the quieter pools each day. The staff hosted all sorts of games/activities each day. My 7-year-old loved bingo by the pool with Jenna and wouldn't let us miss it! The on-site restaurant opened during our stay - its a very nice option if you don't want to venture out. Restaurants at the neighboring Fairmont resort are within walking distance and are very nice. We visited MacDonalds Ranch where kids can take free pony rides and longer excursions can be pre-arranged. Also visited McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park which was great for the little kids. We had never been to Scottsdale before and are very anxious to get back! Our only complaint about the resort is that the walls are thin and we heard everyone above, below and next to us. And they probably heard us too - sorry! I'd recommend a 3rd floor unit, so at least you don't have anyone above! But don't let that dissuade you - this is a great resort for a family that doesn't want to squeeze into a traditional hotel room.
"Large unit and great pools "
Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit was huge with all the amenities of home! 4 pools were very clean and the water slides were great fun for my kids. Friendly staff and clean units made this a great place to stay.
"Great place to stay"
Spacious unit was very well maintained. There are several very nice outdoor pools and hot tubs. Location is about a half hour drive from downtown attractions. Several restaurants are within a short walk.
"Great Resort for Families"
We decided to take a family road trip and opted for this resort as the place we were traveling to to spend about 4 days and we were glad we did. It was an easy place to find and get to and we were warmly greeted by the front desk upon check-in. We are not vacation club members and they did not offer any sort of club membership speech which I appreciated. The concierge was right next to the front desk and I wish I could remember his name, but he was great! He was able to provide us with good eating suggestions and other activities and had an extremely friendly and outgoing personality! We were amazed at our room! We opted for a 2-bedroom suite as my in-laws were staying with us and it was perfect. Plus...the room was right outside the 1-foot, young kids pool which was super for my 5, 4, and 2 year old. The room was clean although the laminate wood flooring left all our bare feet pretty dirty. I don't know if that is life in the desert and it makes it difficult to clean or something else, but it didn't really impact us much. The kitchen was very large with a nice counter top and stools to eat at or, if you prefer, a fairly large dining area with table. The kitchen was stocked okay with dishes, glasses, and other items. We ran into a few issues where we could have used more silverware or pots/pans, but worked around it. The bathrooms were clean and setup nicely with a shower in the master and a bathtub/shower in the other bedroom (2-double beds). Having a bathtub was great for my kids. The beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning rattled and was loud when running, but kept the room at a comfortable temperature. The stacked washer/dryer was wonderful and allowed us to get our clothes washed as needed. My kids had a good time at the 1-foot pool as it was kind of a small water park with buckets pouring out water and small slides, etc. I think the only thing I would complain about was the inconsistency in the lifeguards. I want to say that I think it's great that the resort has lifeguards. However, my kids like jumping from the deck into the pool (not diving - which was clearly marked). Apparently, jumping into a 1 foot pool is considered dangerous by some of the life guards while others just ignored it. The other thing was that the lifeguards didn't come on duty until about 11AM. They rope off the water play set with 1 small chain, but kids were constantly playing on it and going down the slides before the lifeguards came out. Then they come on duty and see kids on the play set and admonish them and want them off of it until their small chain is removed. Come on. If you want them off the play set then maybe a better barrier should be put up or not let them in the pool at all -- or staff lifeguards earlier. Anyway, some of this was kind of annoying. They had other pool areas and a nice water slide for the bigger kids so the resort really has a lot of fun water areas. I did use the exercise room one day and it was nice with weights and plenty of cardio equipment. The resort also has daily activities for the kids which I think my kids would have enjoyed. We did not try those out as we had some off-resort activities planned. Overall...I would definitely come back here as it was a nice, casual resort with fun activities for the kids.
Loved it Here! The size of the room was great! When we checked in I thought the floors looked dirty. I had them clean them again. I think the floor in the bathroom has a texture to it that is hard to clean. That was really the only problem we had. The room is stocked with everything you need even a washer and dryer. I thought there were a good amount of supplies .If you run out of things like coffee or soap just call & they bring moore. No maid service, but that was fine with us. I just washed a load of towels if we needed moore. The restaurant will be opening soon, but there are several within driving distance. There are 4 pools. I thought they were small, but there were plenty of chairs. The room is exactly like the website. Everything looks brand-new. Overall really liked it here & will be back.
