"I couldn't Sleep!!! "

   23-02-2017
This hotel has got to have the worst insulation I've ever seen. I really couldn't sleep. There was so much noice coming in from outside my door. My room was close to the elevator so every time someone walked out an elevator, I got to hear them. And then in the morning time, all I heard was "housekeeping, housekeeping", as if they were knocking on my door but they were knocking on the other rooms. And there's a bunch of work happening in an area right outside my room. The location is great. You are close to many things. And right by the tracks that go everywhere. The room itself is not bad. The beds are nice (if you were able to sleep from all the noise). The AC however, is one of the loudest. Every time the heater went on, it would make such loud sound from the fan. There's s fridge and microwave and closet in the room. I did not have a car so parking was not an issue. I also did not use their wifi. For the price, I have stayed at much better hotels around the same area.

"Great place to stay!"

   22-02-2017
We stay here every year for our anniversary. We love the staff! The rooms are clean and comfy. It's close to Temple Square, City Creek and Abrevanal Hall. There is a UTA transit stop right out front, so you can get to just about anywhere in the city. We love staying here!

"Don't have high expectations..."

   21-02-2017
I have stayed in lots of hotels, many of which were 'cheap'. I decided to splurge and stay at the RL instead of elsewhere 'cheaper' because it looked nice, and was downtown. It was a big disappointment. I've had better accommodations at half the price. Understaffed, and not fully finished on the remodel. The front lobby where we checked in had two rolling computer kiosks pushed together and were not very friendly. Our room with a king bed was sooo small, it didn't even have a closet, just hooks to hang your clothes. We could hear everything from the elevator dinging to the teenagers in the hall. The one upside is they had a fridge and microwave. The furnishings were nice, and it looked like they were really making an effort, but, it also seemed like a superficial job. Every time we sat on the bed, it clanked on the metal base. They didn't have any kind of map or info about the hotel amenities in the rooms -- like the hot tub, or the game room we found on our way out the door from check out. We had to call on when to check out, there was nothing printed on the reservations or key folder. They claimed that we got free water joining their membership thing, but when my hubby asked the front desk they said you just get one. Their wait staff were doing their best, and one of them gave us water when I asked him about it. The maids did a great job too. So, if you want to be down town and don't have high expectations, stay there.

"Convention center hotel - worst ever!!!!"

   17-02-2017
I booked one night at hotel as I had a biz meeting 9am next day at convention center (across street fm hotel). $175 plus tax. Just Off plane and front desk tells me they have bad news. My reservation had been rescinded since I only had a single night reserved (flying the next afternoon as part of a multi city biz trip) and I had moved to a another hotel which was a 10 minute DRIVE away. Absolutely unacceptable!!!! If you are in Salt Lake on biz never stay at this hotel!!!!

"Dated facility in a perfect location"

   12-02-2017
This is an older facility that is showing some of its age. The hot water is slow in arriving. When I tried to speed the process up, I turned the handle in the bath to the hottest setting. Unfortunately that goes to cold at that point. It took me two nights to figure that one out. The alarm clocks have no feature to allow them to display the time in the dark. At least mine didn't and I was told all of them in the facility were the same. When I wake up at night I like to see what time it is without having to turn on a light or other maneuver.
