"Nice hotel stay"
My family and I visited San Francisco (1 night stay) before heading to Disneyland and we enjoyed the stay at the Hotel Zephyr. Hotel was clean and nice. Around the corner from most of the tourist area and restaurants. The place also had many lyft and uber drivers around it causing less than 1 min wait time. Few walks to west was san fran original trolley ride station and little drive away from golden gate, chinatown, japantown, and union square. When we arrived on sat, they had farmers market few miles south east and was able to go there. We did not use parking since we lyfted all day for total of approx $150 total including both trips from and to san fran airport. Very nice and friendly staff at front desk held my bags til check in and also gave us really early check in because my room was not being used. Only minor issues were little old shower curtians and minor noises from street. Overall was great!!
"Fisherman's Wharf Gem"
Super comfortable hotel with a great location right in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf. Comfortable beds and nice furnishings. Large bathroom. Only two drawbacks: 1) No restaurant or bar in the hotel (very disappointing); 2) No counter or cabinets in the bathroom (awkward). Probably won't be back because I do enjoy a nightcap or a nice breakfast or brunch in my hotel. But that's just me!
"Not quite the revisit hoped for post-renovation"
After staying at the Radisson (pre-Zephyr makeover) in April of 2012, we were very much look forward to staying at the new hotel on site. Our first trip combined fantastic service and staff with a solid value for money feel just off of Pier 39. We were excited to see how the makeover went. I'm sorry to say that the visit was more than a bit of a let down. The maritime-meets-steampunk theme was...interesting. Boat-like bits here, a pile of intentionally rusted PC monitors there, etc. Not my thing, but the style part is purely subjective. Some people might dig it. My concern came with functionality and feel of the hotel in the rooms. The decor already felt dated. Wallpaper was peeling away on corners. Paint was scuffed and a bit shoddy (not sure if that was intended part of the 'new feel'). The bathroom sink was vexing. Period. The location of the basin in relation to the tap was befuddlingly painful. The tap neared the end of the basin nearest your body. Turn the water on to wash your hands and it cascades right over the edge, onto your arms and wherever else the wayward water chose to go. That was not appreciated. The stopper release for the sink was located UNDER the sink, so you had to contort your way up and under to release the wastewater. Unreal... At night, the rooms were bright and loud. The curtains only partially covered the windows, feeling like more of a decoration than a guest utility item. Noise from outside the building came pouring in, especially from the evening onward. On such an active section of San Francisco, a bit of soundproofing should have been a requisite. The entire stay was not a restful experience. My only complaint for the service was that our room clearly wasn't ready when we arrived for check-in. There were no towels in the bathroom and the floor could have done with a sweeping. The staff were courteous, helpful and very efficient when called upon. They are an asset to the Zephyr and should be recognized as such. The staff quality kept this from being a 2-star review. All in all, Hotel Zephyr delivered a sub-par experience at a far dearer price than it warranted. Would I stay there again? I would be hard pressed to do so without significant incentives.
"Great location - great service!"
The Hotel Zephyr is close to everything at Fisherman's Wharf. It's fun and quirky and full of young people. Our window blind did not open upon arrival, but 1 comment to the staff and it was quickly fixed. The room was large and very comfortable. I would stay here again,
Nice Hotel, nice rooms. Wish it had a hot tub or bar area. Great location to Wharf and Piers and walking to most everything. Game area looked nice too. Overall we had a good stay while in San Fran! Would come back.
