"Excellent location! "
Stayed at this hotel from the 14-18th November 2017. Hotel was in a perfect location to fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. The rooms were nice, the beds were too comfy! Shower/bath was good, massive TV! There was a safe and fridge too, aswell as a darts board. Didn’t really have a wander around the hotel as we packed so much into our time away we didn’t really spent much time in the hotel, however there is no restaurant/bar in there, but there is an ihop restaurant, subway, 7/11 and cvs all in close proximity. San Francisco is such a lovely place to visit, we did an Alcatraz trip, shopping, went on a cable car. We also did a wine tasting tour with ‘tower tours’ which are based a couple feet away from the hotel and which was abit cheaper than what the hotel had on offer with other flyers. Definitely recommend ‘tower tours’ though!! All in all a lovely place to visit and one of the main selling point of the hotel has got to be the location, can’t go wrong with that! So go and enjoy yourselves :)
"Excellent customer service!"
I stayed at this hotel for a week, for a business trip, and the staff was attentive to anything I needed. The location is in an awesome location with amazing views. I was able to see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge right from my balcony! The highlight was definitely the customer service though!
"Fun friendly very nice hotel in a great location!"
Great hotel for fisherman's wharf area. Clean, spacious, great friendly staff, and great location. Lots of fun things to do like outdoor and indoor games on premises for kids and adults. Easy walk to all the action and restaurants.
We arrived early morning November 12, our room was not ready which we understood as we were early, they kindly kept our luggage in a secure room so we could start sight seeing. Around 11am we got a phone call that our room was ready, we happened to be on a tour so we got back to the hotel around 4. In the meantime, the hotel computer system had crashed and the lobby was full of people who could not get into their rooms because the hotel couldn't tell which rooms were occupied, which were empty, when people who were in the rooms were checking out and what room categories anyone had booked. So we sat around for about an hour waiting for them to figure out the computer glitch. Eventually we decided to give them our luggage again and headed out again sight seeing. We got back to the hotel around 8 and although the glitch had not been fixed, they had figured out a way to get everyone into rooms. The room itself was fine, a magnetic dart board with 2 darts that didn't stick and a view of the parking lot and a door with large gaps so not a lot of noise barrier. We only had a 1 night stay, had the hotel shuttle (booked through the concierge and paid in advance) reserved for transfer to airport. We arrived in lobby at 4:30pm for the 5:20pm shuttle. I confirmed with the concierge that the shuttle was coming. At 5:30 I asked the concierge and was told that there was a 10 minute window to just wait. At 5:45 we asked again about the shuttle and were brushed off, that the shuttle was on its way, another 10-15 minutes more. At 6:00pm we asked yet again and were told that the shuttle was in traffic but was on it's way. At around 6:20 we were told that we were better off getting a taxi because the shuttle was in traffic. Keep in mind we had a flight to catch and now had wasted an hour waiting for a shuttle that had been booked weeks in advance. So we got a taxi and the concierge asked the hotel if they would pay for the taxi as I had already paid for the shuttle which was a no show. No. The hotel did not have any petty cash to pay for the taxi and really could care less. The manager on duty, a lady (have her name written down but can't find it at the moment- started with a J), was not helpful and shrugged us off. I understand traffic happens. But there is also a way to handle those situations which the management did not try to smooth over at all. I myself am in the travel industry so get that things happen, go with the flow, but I also know that a happy traveler is the one that will recommend and book in the future. Location of the hotel is great. Room is ok. Management needs improving! For the price we paid I would stay somewhere else next time and would recommend a different hotel to clients.
"Overpriced room roulette with hidden extras "
Despite checking in early and paying a premium rate, the room we had was simply poor. A view of adjoining dumpsters with bad road traffic noise together with a combined problem of non stop elevator noise throughout the night gave us little peace. Be sure not to take a room near the elevator. Two loud beeps every time it stops, plus thin walls means you're listening to every conversation of the people congregating outside your room. The gimmick of a magnetic dartboard is cute but even that failed to work with the 'darts' just bouncing off the wall. All in all a poor hotel experience. I'm sure guests who are given the key nice rooms overlooking the water the other side of the hotel would be happy and no doubt this is where the great reviews come from. I'm sure if we'd been given a nice room our experience may have been more 4 star, there's no doubt that the location is superb, but there are much cheaper places just ten minutes walk from here. Also, $55 parking and almost an extra $40 in 'urban resort fees' meant this cost over £250/$350 for one night. Pricey.
