"Stressful and disappointing stay"
This hotel has so much potential but unfortunately does not deliver. The hotel is situated a stone's throw from the beach but is on a busy main road which means it is difficult to relax and unwind because of the noise. This is particularly important because the hotel has NO AIR CON. On checking in the Reception staff told us to immediately open the windows and put on the fans when we got to our room - we did but this meant the room was noisy and fans did little to lower the temperature meaning we got little sleep for two nights we stayed. There is no room/hotel information pack in the bedroom to help guests know where things are located etc. This would be so easy to produce and be helpful to guests. The breakfast is a stressful experience - the room it is served in is simply too small for the number of guests meaning people keep getting in each others' way and can't find what they are looking for. The quality of breakfast items is what one would expect in a very cheap motel. The hotel charge $30 a day for valet parking and $15 a day resort fee. The whole place felt overpriced and a rip off in our opinion. Our room was not cleaned by housecleaning during our stay and unfortunately there was dog's mess on the grass between our room and the main hotel lobby. We addressed our concerns with management who were helpful and took off some changes from our bill which we appreciated. Before arriving we had planned to extend our stay by a day because the hotel had so much promise. But after the number of issues, lack of sleep and rising stress levels, we checked out and would never return.
"great experince and thanks letter for Silvani front desk staff"
I am writing to express my appreciation for the quality of service you offered me the days of my stay at Hotel Milo, Santa Barbara I would like to comment how pleased I was with the service provided to me by front desk staff Silvani, she was always smiling and helpful. I have stayed at many hotels recently and have found most of them pretty good and the staff generally friendly. Silvani have by far outpaced every one of them. I have already referred your hotel to my friends. In addition to the amazing service and accommodations Thank you again for contributing to my stay.
"Very Very Nice Hotel🌟"
3Star Hotel that felt like a 5Star🌟Beautiful garden, we loved to sit there, just outside our room. Nice rooms and very clean. Close to the beach. Great swimmingpool, clean and attractive. Helpfull staff. So cosy in the evening, comfortable patio furniture and gas fires.
"Had potential but ultimately underwhelming"
I have mixed feelings about this place. I think this place appeals to people with certain tastes and I’m not one of them. The best part of this place is the location. It’s right by the beach and it’s walking distance to the wharf and downtown. The property and buildings facing Cabrillo looks like they used to be part of an old motel, but whatever renovations were done looks very nice and quaint. I’m not sure what the rooms are like in those buildings since I didn’t stay there. I stayed in one of the buildings in the back, which looked they were part of an old apartment complex. And sure enough the room I had was essentially a studio without the kitchenette. The room was decorated such that it resembled a bedroom in someone’s house. Some may call this quaint, but I just thought it looked tired and old. The king sized bed took up nearly the whole room, so there was little space to walk. That bathroom was reasonably clean, but I wouldn’t call it immaculate. The walls were paper thin, so expect to hear the neighbors’ conversations. Other reviewers have complained about the lack of AC, but that wasn’t an issue for me. However that may be a consideration during summer. The common areas are nice. There’s a nice patio for wine drinking and a dining area for the complimentary breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. As far as pricing, it can be reasonable or overpriced depending on the time of year. Considering the location, I would expect to pay a little more. The price of the required valet parking is kind of steep, but isn’t unusual given the area. However the $15/night “resort fee†was sneaky. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Santa Barbara and have never seen such a charge (or at least not that expensive).
"Great location across the water"
Place has amazing location and hotel grounds with plenty of patio seating and even a fire pit to watch the sunset. The continental breakfast was a nice treat and so were the bikes. Our favorite part though is their wine specials that benefited a great cause - that time it was autism!
