"Great location, but needs to be refurbished!"
Was here for two nights to do a day hike at Yosemite. The location is perfect if you can't or don't want to stay in the valley. It had two restaurants and the one we tried had good food. However, the rooms were rather shabby and definitely needed a facelift.
"takes advantage of prime location"
The views to the river and the proximity to the park are advantages. But probably taking advantage of the monopoly in this area the hotel is not kept up and service is minimal. Had to repeatedly call someone to clean spiders from the ceiling. No phone in the room so every time we had a problem have to wait in line at the reception to talk to someone. After a few times I quit complaining. Breakfast is very limited and being charged for the coffee separately without being told when ordering was an unpleasant surprise. Flight of stairs with no elevator for room access. Next time I'd check the B&B inn close by, seems a better option.
"Great River View"
I stayed here four days in October. It was superb to have meals outside on the balcony overlooking the river. I came in on Route 140 so I stocked up on food in Mariposa. There's also a small grocery and gas station one mile down the road. I had already been eating a lot in restaurants so it was nice to prepare some meals. It would have been great to stay inside of the park (it was a 30 minute plus drive to Yosemite Valley), but you will need advance planning for that. The room was spacious and the kitchenette was very practical. The pizzeria has good pizza; I didn't try the restaurant.
"Perfectly located, with cooking facilites."
The Lodge is about 25metres from the park and a couple of miles from the entrance where it costs $30 for a 7 day pass, no alternative. We were in Juniper, which is at the far end. The room was spacious, with two large double beds, en-suite, towels, and hairdryer. With a microwave in the kitchenette, with saucepans, plates, cutlery and glasses, gave an alternative to the restaurant, which was ok, a smallish menu or pizza parlour, which seemed popular. With a fuel station and grocery store just a couple of miles down the road, if you hadn’t stocked up already, the room’s balcony gave a great place to have a homely meal. On site, there were three swimming pools, with the one closest to us having a Jacuzzi, all surrounded by lovely scenery. Within the park itself, there is plenty to see, whether it be driving to various viewing points, or walking some of the well-marked routes, there was something for all abilities. We walked to Nevada falls and whilst not gushing, it was worth the 6mile 4-6hr roundtrip. In the village centre there are various shops and eating places, along with Indian settlement and museum, to name a few things. With a free shuttle bus doing a circular route, it was easy to move from one location to another.
"Good place to stay for a Yosemite vacation"
This is a very large complex, has a swimming pool, spa, laundry room and a a good restaurant. The room is large, has a kitchenette with 2 electric stoves, a microwave and a toaster, a flat screen TV, a medium-size refrigerator and a large bathroom with a bath tub and hair dryer. It's on highway 140, very quiet, and about 30-minute drive to Yosemite. I was a bit apprehensive about this place because of some negative comments I read on Tripadvisor, especially about the rude attitude of the front desk people. But I did not encounter that at all, they are fine doing their jobs well.
