Over Zion Lodge

Our favorite

"Not a bad place but not excellent"

My wife, kids and I recently completed our stay in the Watchmen facilities here at Zions lodge. Upon our arrival, we were informed that the electric company would be cutting the power at 8:00 pm due to some needed repairs. We were then given a flashlight and several glowsticks that the kids enjoyed. We were also told, that due to this inconvenience, they would be giving us free sandwiches that night and that we could come to the main meeting area that night where they would have lights on, by way of a generator, and play various board games. We did take advantage of this offer and we had fun with it. The staff was very friendly to us and the room was descent. We booked our stay through Expedia and my wife requested a refrigerator and roll away bed; of which neither was delivered. I don't know who dropped the ball on this request but none the less, we did not have either one. Luckily we brought along a cooler and blow up mattress, so we were set. We found the beds to be a bit hard and the pillows too thin but we all survived. Also the room did not have a microwave but there was one in the lobby area of the building. One advantage with staying at the lodge is that you are allowed to drive your car everywhere the shuttle buses go inside the park; otherwise, you are limited as to where you can drive your own vehicle. I believe we would still stay here again.

"Wonderful park and lodge"

We stayed for three nights, renting 3 cabins for the family and it was great. The cabins are clean and provide everything you would need. There is no TV but I am glad for that- you go to Zion for the outdoor experience, not to watch TV. The food in the lodge was fabulous- we ate all of our breakfasts and lunches there and it was all delicious, with a wide variety to choose from. I wish we didn't have to leave!

"Zion in the Winter"

Rather than the Lodge we chose to stay in one of the cabins wich we will do again over the Lodge. They're only a short walk away from the Lodge but it was great. The weather was cold and clear so the fireplace was perfect. We hiked both upper and lower parts of the Canyon so were in and out of snow - no problems. The only 'careful' part of the hikes were where many people had walked creating slippery surfaces but using the Yak Trax type ice grippers and appropriate care made the trails easy. The lack of crowds and the great weather made the trip exceptional and we've made reservations for next year again.

"Wonderful place to stay "

Waking up in the park was so nice. Highly recommend staying in the park to immerse yourself. The cabins are very cozy with a cute little fireplace. Breakfast is nice and staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back.

"Best Place to Stay"

There are many choices of hotels in the Zion National Park area....and my top choice if the only one that is in the park itself -- the Zion Lodge. You can choose a room or a cabin. At eh Zion Lodge, you are across the street (read...no driving required) from one of the coolest hikes -- the Emerald Pools, and walking distance to several others. I stayed during off season so the rates were great and included breakfast -- ordered from the menu, with juice and coffee! The cabin was comfortable, good sheets, nice bathroom and had been recently updated. There was a cute little gas fireplace for heat and ambiance. The main lodge has a nice area to relax, read and watch the wildlife; a large and interesting gift shop; decent restaurant; and knowledgable people at the front desk. Outside are lounge chairs which would be great in the summer, but since we visited in February there was no way we were sitting outside! We did however take three different hikes in one day and each was awesome!
