"Vintage-Style Hotel; Feels Like You're In Another Country - Loved It"

I surprised my husband with a weekend getaway to Niagara on the Lake and after searching for a while and getting many recommendations for the Pillar and Post, I decided to book it. I only have positive things to say. They let us check in early, front desk was so polite and friendly - then they had a complimentary wine and cheese gathering in the lobby in the afternoon which was lovely. The hotel has such a great vintage feel to it; you really feel like you're in another country and not in Ontario that's for sure! We had dinner one night at Cannary which was fabulous - highly recommend (it's pricey, as pretty much everything around NOTL is, so I booked a hotel package that included a 3 course dinner there, which was amazing). The hot springs were our favourite! It really felt like you were somewhere tropical with all the plants surrounding it. here's also an indoor pool and hot tub. There's an outdoor pool too but it was about 7 degrees when we were there - it must be heated though because I saw people swimming in it one afternoon. I never got a chance to use the spa but it was busy when I checked it out on Saturday. Looked very nice though. The bar in the hotel is nice (albeit expensive, two drinks each was $80) but it's such a cozy atmosphere. The hotel isn't right on the main town street, but not far (probably a 15 min walk), but one day it was raining and the hotel offered to give us a ride down there. Breakfast at Cannary was always good - I loved the omelette station. We also had a package that included breakfast, if you didn't I think it's about $20pp for the buffet. Our hotel room was really nice - I booked us a King with fireplace which was lovely to cuddle up near after some wine tasting :) I requested a quiet room, we were in 226 which was super quiet and there was a side entrance so it was quick access to our car. Every night around 7pm you get a knock on your door and you are given a rose from the hotel. Such a cute touch! I said to my husband if you couldn't go out of country for your honeymoon this would be a great place as it's romantic and different. I loved the vintage touches and artwork in the lobby. Only thing is it's a bit pricey but I really felt it was worth it. One thing I didn't like is they charge a $15 resort fee each night on top of your room rate. So just make sure you use the things offered at the hotel (hot springs, etc.) because you're automatically paying for them. Overall, a very cute place not far from wineries (some are walking distance). Highly recommend!

My daughter and I had a girls weekend recently and the Spa at the Pillar and Post was one of our stops. We thoroughly enjoyed the premises. We both had full hour massages (I WOULD RECOMMEND ADAM, he was my massage therapist) amazing! Adam gave me useful information to help my body aches. The facility is new and very clean and modern. Loved the hot springs too! We will definitely go again!

"Wonderful..simply wonderful"

Rooms are amazing....staff are so accommodating and the flowers throughout are beautiful...loved the rose on my pillow. Furniture throughout the hotel is so detailed and well cared for....every aspect of our visit was so great

"Great Service, Great Locale, Great Amenities"

We had a small supper in the Pub-style restaurant, and 2 breakfasts in the formal restaurant - food was good; prices were very reasonable; and service was excellent; I was with a group and several attendees used and enjoyed the heated pools and loved the Spa; the front desk was particularly attentive; the room linens and towels were luxurious. All in all a great place to stay; I'll be back.

"Wonderful weekend getaway!"

We booked a weekend stay at Pillar and Post. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs and pool area & sauna, the room was comfortable and spacious (although the bed could have used a new mattress, it was not as comfortable as i would have liked) and the fireplace in the room was a treat. We ate breakfast and dinner at the Cannery, and it was delicious. I would pass on the trolley wine tour next time - we felt it wasn't worth the money - we could have done the drive and tour on our own for a lot less cost. Overall the hotel met our expectations given the expense and we would consider returning next time.
