Just a wonderful hotel. The staff make it so. The rooms are spacious and clean. The layout is a little bit different which in my opinion makes the rooms feel smaller than they actually are. Some rooms have bathtubs and some dont so if you have small children confirm. Location was great. Interesting area. Lots of pubs and restaurants. A nice walk to old quebec. The staff make this hotel amazing. Quick to recognize status. Quick to offer any help. Freindly and chatty. Go out of their way to answer any questions. I was searching for a sugar shack to eat some maple treats. And the concierge went out of his way to go buy some maple treats for us to have on our drive home. Will not be forgotten. Travelled with 6 adults and 2 children and everyone was blown away. Will only stay here in Quebec.
My room had a huge window and a great view of a street lined with restaurants and shops that was attractive to look at. However and this is a big however-my room was quite small and the only upright chair was a plastic one-like a lawn chair-which might work in a budget Hotel but doesn't work very well in a place that charges over 100 dollars per night. The Hotels restaurant (called "Table") was quite good. There was a heating system in the Hotel room which is now fairly standard for Hotels in this price range-but it was noisy and overheated the room so it had to be turned on and off repeatedly which ends up making you wake up in a cold room. Not as good as central heating which seems to have been abandoned in favour of this duel air-conditioner/heater blower system-which is hard to control and noisy. Not all change is progress. My room also had a long backless lounger type sofa chair (not a very comfortable furniture item that doesn't really replace a standard type comfortable upright chair) that someone had damaged with a hot iron. The front desk offered me a new room but I couldn't be bothered to change rooms-I was too tired. The front desk was friendly though.
"Reasonable price,great location"
So after long research on hotels in old Quebec that was my best choice! Great location, modern design , no microwave , gorgeous view from our room, clean big pool, sauna and guess what?!they have door open to outside area so right after sauna you can go out and chill a little in a snow hehe. They also have parking available inside the hotel for additional price as well as valet parking. The check in at 3 pm (not earlier ,if u check in much earlier I think they charge like 50 Canadian $ and check out at 12 pm, make sure to ask a room with good view, otherwise they might not give it to you, and by the way around hotel lots of shops and places to eat ✌ï¸
"Do not stay here - AVOID AVOID"
This SHOULD NOT be a Starwood property! Management must be replaced in its entirety and staff re-trained - they seem brainwashed to providing the WORST customer service I've ever seen - as a Platinum member in SPG for 8 years I continue to be stunned. Problems started at check in when they refused to offer SPG status amenities. After reminding them, they reluctantly gave them. I am still battling with the hotel for 2 different credit cards being billed, and over $700 in authorizations that they won't release. SPG please release Hotel PUR - this hotel is PUR nonsense and not deserving of anything other than horrible reviews.
"Its PUR something alright!"
In almost 50 years of travelling, I must say that for what is supposed to be a 4 star Hotel, I expected MUCH better. Better service, better rooms, better EVERYTHING! Some lowlights .... 1- The hotel has 18 floors, but only 1 working elevator 2- There is no hot water on the lower floors in the morning 3- They give you a coffee maker. You can find it in the bathroom - why the bathroom? 4- Trying to reach the front desk from your room is next to impossible 5- Our room keys - both keys - stopped working. Could not reach front desk and had to wait 15 minutes for an elevator to go down to the lobby 6 - The décor is hideous!!!! It is essentially lipstick on a 70s vintage pig. 7 - things that you expect to work, don't. For example - blow dryer kept cutting out and shower light insisted on strobing, and the display panel in the lobby for information had this to say "CPU Fan Error - Press F1 to recover" 8 - Luggage carts ... there are 2 of them. Book in advance I could go on, but why bother? Quebec has many wonderful hotels. Avoid this one.
