Vancouver, de Gateway van de Pacific, is een van de populairste steden ter wereld. En niet voor niets. Vancouver is tevens uitvalsbasis voor een (auto-)reis door het westen van Canada of voor een uitstapje naar Vancouver Island.
"Housekeeping needs to improve."
Stayed here for 4 nights in a Club room. Only received one bottle of water during the 4 days. There were no wine glasses in room. I requested wine glasses, but after use, they were taken away and not replaced. The floors were not cleaned once in the 4 days I was there. The coffee machine is an espresso machine. It makes about 1/4 c. of coffee and it is not good. The bed was wonderful as was the view. It is great to be able to open a window for sleeping, much appreciated. Water pressure could have been better in the shower. Bathroom nicely appointed.
Despite living in the lower mainland, we decided to spend the night prior to a morning flight, as we didn't want to risk the traffic congestion during rush hour. We were able to park our car for the 10-day trip, and take the hotel airport shuttle.
"Close to YVR"
With all my travelling, I'm happy to say I have found a great hotel. Pacific Gatway has the best location for an airport hotel, no need to go into downtown Richmond. They offer a free airport shuttle, 24x7. Beds are always comfortable and very little noise from the planes flying in/out. The only negative, I've ordered a caesar a couple times and will not be doing that again.
"My preferred airport hotel"
Recently stayed here for one night each at either side of another trip. I am a frequent guest at this hotel both for business, and for personal when I have a late arrival or early flight. It is my preferred hotel in the area. Since the conversion from Delta, the hotel has had quite a facelift. The lobby is quite modern and there's a new coffee bar. Rooms are fine but most of all - QUIET! Honestly, you can sleep in and you won't hear airplane or traffic noise. Some of the rooms have a really lovely view of the marina. The bed is comfortable. They have been slowly converting from disposable products to more environmentally conscious products. The showers now have larger bottles of shampoo and conditioner. They are pretty but I do wonder about contamination if a person wanted to tamper with them. I do like to see them going away from the tiny plastic bottles, but I always wonder who uses this stuff anyway?! There is a similar size bottle of liquid hand soap by the sink as well. The 24 hour airport shuttle is quick, easy and best of all, free. It leaves the hotel on the hour and 20/40. They can also take you to Richmond, to the outlets or skytrain at other times, which need to be pre-booked. Since my last visit, Pier 73 restaurant no longer offers room service. I know that it's independently operated but not sure if this change is on the part of the hotel or restaurant. I have to say that it's a big miss in my view. After a long travel day, or day at work, the last thing I want to do is have to go pick up my meal. I'll happily pay a $5 service fee to have it brought up to my room. I do find it peculiar that you can still charge it to your room, but they will not bring it to you. A poor change in my opinion.
"Quick stop over, comfy beds"
Had an unexpected stop in Vancouver and stayed at the Pacific Gateway, clean comfortable rooms very close to the airport. Staff were pleasant and would stay here again. has onsite restaurant and a coffee kiosk with a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes
