Vancouver, de Gateway van de Pacific, is een van de populairste steden ter wereld. En niet voor niets. Vancouver is tevens uitvalsbasis voor een (auto-)reis door het westen van Canada of voor een uitstapje naar Vancouver Island.
"Luxury in Vancouver"
It was an absolute pleasure staying at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Firstly, we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite as we were on our honeymoon, this was amazing and really made our stay special. The concierge were very helpful and the room service were so kind leaving us extra coffee pods and a bookmark for our travel guide. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of all the major attractions and sights. Search no further, this is your best choice if you're visiting Vancouver :)
"Beautiful historic hotel with modern refresh"
Large rooms with sofas and chairs, comfortable beds, lux linens and huge, modern bathrooms with soaking tubs. There's so little to improve on that the best I could come up with was needs a shelf in the shower for shaving and a handheld attachment in the shower instead of just a rain head. I know: rough life. And the service is better than charming, thoughtful Canadian. The hotel is welcoming and gracious at every turn--valets, front desk, restaurant servers, concierge, room service and housekeeping. And we loved the informal lunch spot connected to the hotel that serves soup, sandwiches, coffee, tea and desserts. The place was packed all Saturday afternoon but they squeezed us in with a table for two in the window. Couples, shoppers, families alike loved this place. The only thing the hotel could have thought of to make the stay better would have been to provide a bus back from the U2 concert (about half the hotel was in town for that per the front desk) since Vancouver STILL does not allow private ride apps like Lyft to operate (boo!!). BC Place was a nightmare and no help with transport back up the hill to the hotel (like 12-15 blocks) which is a hike even if you have not already been standing through a concert for 6 hours... Anyway, just a thought to reach perfection for future events.
"Beautiful, high-end, centrally-located hotel in walking distance to everything downtown."
I recently traveled to Vancouver for business and wanted a central location where I could park my car and leave it! Yes, you can find cheaper hotels, but the convenience of this hotel is hard to beat. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the rooms are well-appointed. My suite was a bit overkill for just one person but a remarkable experience, with both a bathtub and walk-in rain shower. Service was exceptional and friendly. In short, the Rosewood has everything you'd expect for a five-star experience.
"Make the Most with the Rosewood Escapes Package"
My husband and I are both originally from Vancouver and we booked a conference for him right downtown by the Hotel Georgia so it made sense to stay there. When researching rooms I found the Rosewood Escapes Packages and it was absolutely worth it. The room rate included breakfast for both of us in room or downstairs at their restaurant as well as valet parking every night. If you have never had to park downtown in Vancouver, trust me, valet parking is essential. The in-room breakfast was amazing and delivered with class each day. We enjoyed a variety of Eggs Benedicts almost each morning. The one morning we ate downstairs there were far fewer options so I would definitely suggest eating in. The staff upgraded us to a lovely suite up on the 11th floor when we checked in, which we really appreciated. We had so much room to spread out and a separate living/dining area removed from the bedroom area. The showers were like being in a tropical rainfall and were very spacious. The fine dining restaurant was alright for supper but perhaps a bit pretentious. While our servers were terrific there weren't a lot of options to choose from and the prices were pretty high. This is Vancouver, though, so not unexpected. The other high-end hotels in the area also have high-priced main restaurants, I just felt like Hawkwsorth (in the Hotel Georgia) needed a few more entrée options. Regardless, it was tasty. The staff, from the valet attendants, to the concierge, to the delivery teams all gave the genuine impression that they cared about how our vacation was going. Everyone was so friendly and cheerful and helpful with information about things happening around the city. And you can't beat the location if you want to get in on the street vibe of Vancouver. You are steps away from Robson street as well as across the road from another large shopping mall with the Four Seasons. If you abhor traffic, Vancouver might not be the city to visit but it is a beautiful city and it was fun to go back, particularly having such a spacious, beautiful suite to return to each day. The evening we arrived neither of us was very hungry so we enjoyed a relaxing drink in the trendy 4th floor bar/lounge/terrarium that is open air and pretty nice. Quite a few appetizer like dishes to choose from and we were satisfied for the night. In my responses below I chose "Not Sure" a few times because we didn't have to pay for WiFi/Internet but that may have been part of our room package.
"Vancouver's Premier Hotel!"
Another excellent stay at the hotel that has it all: location, guest suites, dining, exercise facilities and staff! Tried the tasting menu at Hawksworth this time - and was very impressed. For a central location the hotel suites are amazingly quiet.
