We stayed here for 1 night on our trip, so as to experience both sides of the falls (Zimbabwe and Zambia). This lodge is the most african-chic (in a gorgeous opulent African way) that I have ever seen. We received a warm welcome of African music. The pool was fantastic and we highly recommend the sunset cruise.
"Fabulous Lodge- super accommodation"
We stayed at the lodge for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every second. The rooms are super comfortable with the full opening doors onto a private verandah. The food is absolutely excellent, with a terrific choice for breakfast, and lovely taster add ins at dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we booked activities through their activity centre (again Jlo- thank you). Super little touchs made us feel special- with handmade sweets on pillow, bookmarks with stories, the river cruise (pure magic). Overall- an incredibly positive experience. The grounds are magnificently kept, and the conference centre looks really lovely.
A wonderful Hotel along the Zambezi river with access to many wonderful experiences. Victoria Falls is within walking distance! The staff was very accommodating, and the service was wonderful. The rooms are eloquent and very clean. The Hotel is located right on the Zambezi river with many river side areas to dine on. There is a great bar with a Piano (that quests are allowed to play and sign along!) where you can relax and enjoy good company and good drinks.
We arrived to a warm welcome from the reception staff, check in was easy and our room was comfortable and clean. Be aware that the Ververt monkeys are really cheeky and watch for you to open your patio doors. The hotel is on the banks of the Zambezi and the spray from Victoria falls can be seen from the outdoor eating area. The activity office is always open and there is a complementary bus to Livingstone town and indeed to the falls. My husband and I went into town and the driver was really helpful, dropping us off at the tourist market and arranging to pick us up at the coffee bar later on. The small boat cruise was great, we saw many fabulous birds, Hippos and Crocs and were even lucky enough to see a pair of elephants swimming across the river from Zimbabwe. I strongly recommend the game drive in the reserve, we had a fabulous time and our guide was really knowledgeable and obviously loved his job. We had also booked a 20 minute helicopter ride over the Falls, I had a good view but my husband did not due to being one of two in the middle of the 4 seats in the back. I do feel short changed with this as at 265 US dollars per person this was the most expensive activity we did and I do feel that for that sort of money everyone should have a good view. The hotel was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The steps to the restaurant are a challenge for anyone with mobility issues but the rest of the hotel can be accessed without going up stairs providing you plan your route around. It is not possible to change money at the hotel so I advise you do so at the airport as you arrive or in the town of Livingstone.
The visit to David Livingstone Safari Logde was unfortunately spoiled rather terribly by one of the staff in the sovenir shop on the lodge. Making and agreement to buy and prepaid a lot of money for the sovenir the perticular staff promissed to forward the goods to us within 4 days. Now half a year later we still have not received the goods even after that we have paid further Money - now we are being told that the goods are stuck in SA and that we have to pay further 100USD for freight. Having such a guy running the souvenir shop in the David Livingstone Safari Lodge is very unfortunate - and leaves ud with a very bad experience.
