Over A'Zambezi River Lodge

Our favorite

A'Zambezi is gebouwd in Afrikaanse stijl.

"Beauty & Tranquility"

This establishment offers good value for money. Enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of this location along the Zambezi river and away from the town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room had very good views but a bit small with lots of mosquitoes even during the winter months. Food was good. Recommended . Very good setting.

"Nice scenery but rooms are smaller than expected"

We had a wonderful time at the A'Zambezi from sighting the resident hippo and elephants and spent time with nature. We expected the rooms to be bigger but they were small and same applied to the twin room. The hospitality was excellent and all staff were friendly. We had the opportunity to go on the boat cruise which was an amazing experience.

"Fantastic lodge right on the Zambezi near the Victoria Falls"

A Zambezi Lodge is a great place to stay in Vic Falls. The clean comfortable rooms are well serviced daily. The bars and restaurant are top quality. Sunset river cruises are available daily. Reception, bar and restaurant service were all excellent with friendly, helpful staff and the food was amazing for dinner and breakfast. Make sure you do the helicopter ride over both the falls and the adjacent Zambezi/Vic Falls national parks where we saw huge herds of elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, eland, and other antelope. The ride over the falls is jaw droppingly spectacular and gives you a whole new perspective of it. If you are crossing the border into Livingstone in Zambia, use Eddie's taxi service available from the hotel. Eddie was fantastic. he takes you to the Zimbabwe departure control at the border just a short drive away and hands you over to his Zambian colleague, Kenny who then takes you through Zambian entry control and drives you to your accommodation in Livingstone. Eddie and Kenny were absolutely fantastic and Kenny drove us around lots after that on a daily basis to wherever we wanted to go. Thank you so much Eddie and Kenny for making it all so easy for us to cross the border. The falls are also spectacular from the Zambian side so do not hesitate to cross the border into Livingstone, Zambia to view them from there. A Zambezi Lodge is a great choice while in Vic Falls, in fact everything in Vic Falls worked really well and all local staff in shops, banks, activity centres etc were excellent giving a high quality of service everywhere.

"A Great Location on the Zambezi River."

This is a nice hotel, the location is great and the rooms comfortable. It isn't the Ritz Carlton, but well worth the money. Spring for a river view which is only a little more and you have great views on the Zambezi River. I believe its the only Hotel on the river banks. They even have signs warning you to be cautious about the crocidiles. This is a very relaxing place to stay. Monkeys are always on the grounds and there are occasional bigger guests, even none human types.

"Pleasant hotel focused on large group travel"

The hotel and room were pleasant and well located. We were upraised to a 1BR suite with a very pleasant river view. The facilities were quite comfortable but like most of Zimbabwe. The prices for incidentals and meals was significantly overpriced relative to other tourist destinations. I would limit my time in VF and focus on other options. They appear to be geared towards large tour groups as the staff wasn't prepared to answer some fairly basic questions that most staff at a well established tourist location could easily address. For our transport to Livingston airport, for example, they scheduled the car service so early that the airline counter wasn't open upon our arrival and we had a three hour wait for our scheduled departure. The evening sunset cruises that leave from the hotel gather an entire other gaggle of tour groups with fire eating 'natives' dancing as everyone disembarked. Very Disney-like.
