"saved only by the magnificence and splendor of Lamingto"

Unquestionably a trip to The world heritage area of Lamington national park is worth the effort....a true natural wonder Unfortunately the aging, over-priced, and mostly poorly maintained O'Reilly's Guest house comes nowhere close to doing the National Park Justice (1) The front-of-house staff were curt and unhelpful and unable to negotiate complexities of the english language .......poor form O'reillys (2) The food is mediocre and incredibly overpriced..... I recently had cheaper and better quality food in the remote area of Fitzroy Crossing in WA so distance is not the reason O'Reilly's (3) The Cafe doesnt open till 9:00AM forcing everyone wanting an earlier breakfast to suffer the incredibly overpriced buffet....$35/head.....really (4) The rooms are so tired and run down it beggars belief especially considering the prices charged (5) No games and/or entertainment....take a lesson from Binna Burra!! (6) Kudos to the O'Reilly settlers .....however the disregard shown to the traditional custodians of the land that the original selectors took land from was very very disappointing!! Hardly a very scant mention of the Yugambeh groups of people....so much time, effort and money spent celebrating 100 years of homesteading by the O'Reillys though (7) The Segways are a ridiculous addition and do not work in sync with the spirit of the area....a misguided money making venture....send them back to southport O'Reillys (8) One highlight was the Ranger who did the early morning bird forum....a brilliant and pleasant individual Management at O'Reillys should really re-think their business model....thank goodness i went with brilliant company because the facility and service were very disappointing indeed

"48hrs in a beautiful location"

Attended a 2 day conference here - cabins were extremely comfortable and well appointed, location is stunning though and well worth a visit. Hotel staff were very friendly and made sure everything ran smoothly. Would definitely like to return for leisure with my partner next time and spend longer exploring the area and enjoying O'Reilly's.

"Special place to stay!"

Don't miss the opportunity to visit this gem of a retreat!. The staff is very helpful and there are many activities to join. We chose zip lining thru the rainforest and a guided tour. Wonderful pace to see!

"Amazing place to visit and stay."

This is a very special place. I camped at the camp ground 25 years ago. The guest house at O'Reillys now has modern villas that you can stay in as well as their guesthouse rooms. Its a long and winding road to get up to O'Reillys but well worth the stressful drive. The villas were stunning. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed, 2 bathroom, modern and fully equipped villa with a spa bath on the verandah, nestled amongst trees. We had lots of birds visit our verandah, and the views of the rainforest are stunning. We ate at the Guesthouse restaurant each night, had delicious food. But the highlight has to be the walks during the day. We are rainforest and bird watching family, thus the reason for coming here. You have to do the canopy walk which is stunning, and you climb a rainforest giant at one point up a ladder. Magnificent views across the top of the canopy. There are plenty of other short walks in the area. The only way to see the birds in the forest is to walk quietly and take your time. If you aren't able to do any of the walks, a visit to the cafe will have you visited by king parrots, rosellas, and bower birds. One of the highlights is seeing the beautiful male Regent Bowerbirds that frequent this area. Highly recommend staying a couple of nights.

"Beautiful surroundings, accomodation was clean, friendly and helpful staff"

You go here for the surroundings and rainforest and you receive that in abundance. There are heaps if activities available to get the most out of your stay but most do come at a cost. I would recommend the wildlife, bird of prey and the glow worms they are a must. The food in the restaurant is lovely but not cheap. The bar food is not as substantial but a bit more economical. Alcohol is expensive. If you are budget conscious I would recommend taking along a good esky and buying ice before you arrive and taking as much food as possible, bbqs are available for use and if you take a few kitchen essentials ie plates and cutlery you will safe a fortune. The cabins have a very small bar fridge which had faulty seals and didn't really keep things cold. The staff are lovely and very helpful. It really is a must place to visit for people coming to Australia s the walks and wildlife area amazing. If you can get a package with dinner provided it would be well worth or think about upgrading to a villa.
