"Delightful property in an excellent location"
We stayed only one nigh but wished it was longer. The town is lovely and the Inn is right in the centre so it is easy to walk to restaurants and shops. We stayed in Rose Cottage which is right next to but separate from the main building. The room was enormous and very comfortably and stylishly decorated with a great view over the harbour. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly with useful suggestions of where to eat and what to do. Breakfast was basic but excellent in quality. This was the best accommodation we had in 9 days touring around Nova Scotia and PEI
"Wonderful Lake and Marina Views from our Balcony!"
I chose this Inn for the water views and it was well worth the money to be in a lake view room! We had beautiful views over the water at sunrise and sunset from our balcony! The room was large and clean, as was the ensuite bathroom. It was peaceful and quiet. Getting the luggage up to the room was a bit difficult. We parked in the assigned area, but had to take our luggage around the side of the building, up a ramp and then up a flight of stairs. The breakfast was an expanded continental breakfast with a few hot items such as oatmeal and fresh waffles, and was very nice. It certainly offered a lot of different options to choose from: homemade baked goods, different breads for toast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit cups, juice, tea and coffee. The proprietor was away on vacation during our visit, but the replacement hostess was very sweet and knew a lot about the area.
We stayed for one night at the end of the tourist season. Baddeck was fairly-sleepy, as were we after coming over from PEI. We were warmly greeted by our host, who gave us the lowdown on the inn and offered us some solid suggestions for dining that evening. Our room on the second floor overlooked the yacht club and featured a nice view of Bras d'Or. The room was large, well-appointed, and comfortable. As an added bonus there was an attached balcony where we watched the (full!) moonrise from our balcony. Breakfast was served in a room off to the side of the lobby and featured many baked goods, made-to-order waffles, cereals, etc. It was pretty basic, but seeing as I usually only have a cup of coffee for breakfast I was more than satisfied with the offerings available. This is a solid base for couples exploring the Cabot Trail
"Charming spot in a charming town"
Great location and care. The proprietor was a treasure trove of info on the area. There were more than a couple of suggestions he made that I heeded and was very glad I did. Very nice experience and would not hesitate to recommend of stay again. I was upstairs in room 2, with a private balcony overlooking the harbor. So peaceful.
"Nice place to stay in southern Cape Breton"
I considered a couple of different options in this area but settled on Water’s Edge as it was right in Braddeck town center; other places with kitchenettes would have been a drive from town. We booked their only unit with a kitchen, a studio on the second floor of a house next to the main inn. Be aware this unit is not for those who have mobility issues as the stairs are steep and uncovered so wet when it rains. Although we did not have a deck with this unit we did have a window overlooking the marina and, in the case of our two days here, the dock where the cruise ships tie up. A block uphill from the Inn was a great ice cream shop and along this main street were many shops, galleries, and cafes. The Alexander Graham Bell Museum was also within walking distance as was a Coop grocery store. We had a full kitchen and a bathroom with lots of counter/shelf space but there was a shower only. The unit did have a window air conditioner and its own wifi router. The queen bed was very comfortable, but the sofa bed was definitely not. Throughout the unit was very nice original art work. The Inn also has a small café, bed-and-breakfast rooms, and an art gallery. The manager was extremely nice.
