"Best Place to Stay in Nova Scotia"
Go here! Don't question it. Absolutely epic location. Lodging choices include, a private chalet, a pretty nice condo, a bunk room in a cabin, Tepees or pitch your own tent. The entire property has been carefully and sensitively developed with as little impact as possible. The tepees have wonderful beds with memory foam. The entire property on the Mersey River and it's ponds and lakes is one of the most peaceful places in NS. The owners have built platform walks around the property to stay off the ground and makes for amazing strolls. They have left kayaks and canoes in various places for guests to use at the leisure. There is a cooking cabin for campers and guests who stay in tents to prepare meals. everything is so tastefully done and beautiful.
"Beautiful wheelchair accessible cabin in the woods"
I stayed here a few years ago and I would not hesitate to stay there again. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with raised wheelchair accessible walkways throughout their property. The cabin itself was tastefully decorated and in the woods and felt very secluded although you were really not far away from the restaurant , tipis and office. They had a cat whose name was Magic who would come and share her time with us.
"Great family holiday "
Wonderful place for families looking for a nature and canoeing holiday. Peaceful and relaxing. Very enjoyable and safe outdoors environment for small children and teenagers alike. Chalets are clean and spacious (5 persons), included in the price are the sports facilities- canoeing and swimming in two lakes on site.
"A lovely retreat"
Four adults comfortably shared a large cottage in this beautiful location. Lovely woods right on the Mersey River. We also appreciated the easy -- and free! -- access to canoes and kayaks for exploring the river and the swimming raft. We look forward to a return visit, perhaps in the fall.
""If you want to get away from it all......""
I wanted to stay near the Kejimkujic National Park, and sure enough, this accommodation is 5K away from the National Park. It is situated right along the Mersey River. Andrea was the hostess and oriented me around. They have different kinds of accommodations with varied prices. One that I could afford were the tents which are older than the tipis for $90 per night. There are also tipis for $60 per night and were new but all booked up. The pricing to me doesn't make sense. You need to share the restroom, shower, toilet and you walk about a minute away from your place. Take slippers along because if someone uses the shower before you, the entire floor is wet, even if you just have to go to use the toilet. They do provide a towel and face cloth, but you do need to bring your own toiletries. The parking is poor. I had to walk about 2 minutes to get to and from my car. You have to store any food in the communal kitchen. The kitchen is supplied with all the dishes and tools so you can cook inside or outside, but you have to bring your own food and also share the facilities. There is no place in your tent or tipi to charge your camera or phone, unless you use an outlet in the kitchen. Be prepared for lots of bugs. If you want all the comforts of home, this place is not for you. The pluses are that it is convenient to the park, you're right along the river, and you can also spend a full day at the park, and not have to drive the distance.
