I am not a huge fan of Delta Hotels however this hotel had a great location on the water, modern facilities, great service from staff. I was surprisingly impressed! They need more staff in the morning at the restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and very reasonable. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Cute health club but they need to put towels for guests to use during exercise. I would stay here again.
I visited this hotel on a business trip for 2 days. It's in a great location in downtown Kingston, just minutes walk to restaurants, pubs etc... The staff were wonderful and friendly - but it did appear that they were quite understaffed in the Kitchen/Restaurant the days I was there. My pre-ordered continental breakfast was over 45 minutes late, and I received no call or anything to indicate that it was going to be late, or the reasons why. It was only when I called looking for it that I was informed they were understaffed and that they could "bag" a breakfast for me if that was suitable. There was no offer to remove it from my invoice or discount the price or anything. Other than the breakfast fiasco - the stay here was quite pleasant. Friendly staff, very comfortable spacious room, glorious bed :). I wouldn't hold the breakfast thing against them and would return to this hotel...the pros definitely outweighed the cons :)
"Great hotel with beautiful views"
We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. We stayed here for 10 nights and really enjoyed our rooms and felt welcomed by the staff. The views from the rooms were stunning and the hotel was clean and modern. The hotel was quiet and we had a great sleep every night. Great location, a walking distance to almost everywhere! The only minuses were the air-con that kept turning on and off by itself (this only happened a few times tho) and a very unfriendly member of staff who was at the front desk when we checked in the hotel (after 20 hours of traveling mind you.) He was rude and continued this way for our whole stay by not greeting us. However the rest of the staff were super friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay in this hotel again!
"Great hotel but noisy"
Similar to another review on here, this is a noisy hotel. There was a wedding either above or below me, but it sounded as if I was a part of the party. I could hear the MC, hear each song and the chanting of the crowd when the music stopped. A part from the noise, this is an excellent hotel. Great staff, very clean and comfortable rooms and fantastic views of the Kingston bay. If you are an Elite with Marriott, they truly recognize your status and make you feel welcomed. Breakfast was fantastic and my special requests were honored (to the best of their abilities). Overall, great location and great staff make for an enjoyable stay in Kingston. A few points to make: - Parking is C$18 per day - Elevators only carry 6 people (max) which can make peak times a bit slow - Breakfast is in the restaurant (Aqua Terra) and Elites can pick anything off the menu with their coupons. - Avoid rooms close to the elevators and near housekeeping closets as they are quite loud during the day (i.e 407, 307, 207).
It's midnight now and the wedding below me is so loud I can hear every word of every bad eighties song - it's oh Sherry right now, and If I could manage to sleep it would give me nightmares, but I can't sleep! I will NOT come here again, and I come to Kingston several times a year to visit my daughter at university Restaurant and view are great, but rooms are dated, the TV set up is ridiculous, and the terrible parking situation really detracts from the stay. If you get assigned a third floor room when you check in, make sure there is no wedding or DJ event going on!
