"Best in town"
You will be assured of a great stay, right on the water. Rooms are good and ongoing upkeep and renovations to this older building are appreciated. For those that don't want to venture out the hotel bar and restaurant will be more then you would expect. But, do go out and explore the area. Very historic and scenic.
"Location, location, location"
This hotel has the best location in town: jutting out, perpendicular, into Kingston harbour, right downtown. Every (fairly large) room, with huge windows, looks out on either the harbour or the lake; the bar and dining room look out onto the harbour from every table; a 3-minute walk takes you to the historic centre of Kingston, and a 10-minute walk, to the K-Rock Centre. The hotel is small enough to feel intimate, and large enough to have all the amenities (including a swimming pool). Rooms have small fridges, and lots of pillows of varying firmness. Service is professional, thoughtful, efficient, and friendly. (Some staff members are students at nearby Queen's University.) Bar and dining room food is excellent. The entrance (through the parking garage!) has been determined by the site, and is quirky enough to be really interesting. A small business centre (2 computers) is accessible 24/7. The front desk has a downtown map and can tell you where to find just about anything.
We enjoyed our stay at the Delta Hotel in Kingston. The room was a nice size with a great view of the waterfront. The location is awesome, right downtown within walking distance to restaurants and stores. The staff are very friendly. The only negative would be you have to pay for parking, I believe as a hotel guest parking should be free.
the staff are very friendly & nice parking is a little tight for a big suv or truck the room was clean but not perfect a little dated had a corner room so the view was great on the second floor the room service pricey but food good 300 per night pricey should be 250.00
"Dated hotel, Poor value!"
Stayed one night. The room decor was very dated, although the view was fantastic. The bathroom tile grout was dirty and the whole room felt tired. Parking was an issue, it appears they are under construction, however they still charged a fee. Service was mediocre, nothing was exceptional. The room rates in my opinion are too high for what you receive regardless of location. Will not return.
