"Location is everything"
I initially booked this hotel for a 2 night stay from Feb. 4-6 through Expedia. When I arrived, I was shocked to find that Expedia misbooked my stay for the 6-7th. I was upset because I didn't get the rates I had hoped for, but the receptionist helped me find better rates (CAA membership) and booked me for a room. However, she was not able to cancel that initial misbooked reservation. The stay at the hotel was fine. The place was clean and comfortable, and very convenient due to the location. I was happy with the price I got and the services that were rendered. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the local restaurants and bars. Parking was an additional $30 a day, or $25 if you wanted to walk a block with your suitcase down some icy sidewalks. That was disappointing. I did have an issue with the cancellation of the mistaken booking, however. Expedia blamed the Hotel Management and vice-versa. I decided to go to reception and ask what could be done. After a brief discussion, the front desk manager whose name was Sarah agreed that since I had been a customer of the hotel for the past two nights, tried to cancel earlier to no avail, that I was indeed due a refund. She guaranteed I would not be charged and provided me with a cancellation number which further validated our interaction. Sarah was extremely helpful in the situation and I am grateful for the service that I received regarding it. Although I was later charged, by EXPEDIA, not the hotel, that situation was also rectified and I received a full refund. Thanks to Sarah and the staff for making our stay comfortable.
"Location is everything, 100 steps to St Catherine Street."
Truly, 100 steps. I counted! This is a decent place to stay if you don't plan to spend much time actually in the room. We had a queen room for one night. It was clean but small, and the price reflected the size of the room. We were in the back of the building which helped to alleviate any outside noise, we didn't notice any noise from the construction across the street from the front of the building. The heater under the window was noisy though, woke me up a few times during the night. Finally just lowered the temp so it would come on less often. Parking is self park nearby, you can park out front of the hotel for 15 min and bring your things to your room so that makes it easy. Staff are helpful and friendly. Pop and ice are available on the floors, chips/snacks available at the front desk. There is a well known restaurant place next door however there is an incredible Crepery on St Catherine Street that is most definitely worth the short walk. Try the Cinnamon Apple Caramel Crepe. It's as good as it sounds.
"Great location and clean"
Stayed here for 3 nights but mainly to see a hockey game. This is very close to the bell center. The rooms are clean and updated but a bit on the small side but big enough for me and my wife. The hall carpets are dated but clean. I really don't have any real complaints..Great value in great location..Staff was very friendly
"Clean, Convenient & Comfortable!"
Booked this hotel primarily due to its close proximity to the Bell Centre, as I was attending a Don Henley concert in September 2016. The hotel was very modern/fancy. Rooms were large and clean. Floors were nice laminate rather than the usual carpet. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom and shower were nice. Big glass-door shower. I am francophone but some TV channels were solely in French, and I rather watch English television so that is my only complaint, but nothing major. Would definitely recommend and will stay there again when in Montreal.
If you don't mind a few stairs this place is certainly a hidden gem! Elevator to the 6th floor and then about some dozen stairs up and you are in an amazing, huge suite with two King size beds, a fold down couch, a small fridge and two HD TV'S. There are huge windows with a great view. The beds were super comfy. Two nlicks ftom the Bell Center and blocks away from downtown. And it was just regular priced. Apparently the stairs are some deterrent for some but we'll worth it in our opinion. Would ask for it again in a heartbeat. Parking is an extra cost but there is a lot is behind the hotel.
