"Center of everything"

You just cant avoid it, so you might as well stay here cuz your going to visit this hotel sooner or later . The prices are reasonable they have rooms for almost every price point meaning you can go big or stay in a "regular" room . But you can't help but love the atmosphere it's always buzzing and walking distance to everything

"Cool place to visit, very pretty to look at from outside, but I wouldn't stay there again"

This hotel is very nice from outside, but in my opinion... it needs a lot of work on the inside... I have stayed at other Fairmont hotels, the service is usually awesome and the are very nice..... the service here was ok. There are just so many tourists that aren't staying at the hotel, just visiting..hanging around in lobby... passing through... that it seemed very congested with outsiders. It's understandable that as a tourist you would like to visit this hotel.... it has a lot of history,an amazing deck with beautiful scenery and performers...It is quite lovely. I just felt that for the price of staying here they should have a bit more security and more order in the lobby.... keep tourist not staying there out.The boutique in the hotel were very nice.... many items to choose from all price ranges. Very artsy. The bar was great. The rooms were satisfactory, but in dire need of modernization. I felt like I walked into a hotel from the seventies.... the toiletries were nice... I felt like the room was just ordinary, nothing like other Fairmont hotels I'm used to. I will say the outside is very grand and the scenery is amazing....it's well situated to many attractions in old city. I think you should stay here once, but I wouldn't do it again, I think I would prefer a nice b&b.

"Excellent winter vacation at the historic and elegant Chateau Frontenac."

We enjoyed three nights recently at the Chateau Frontenac in picturesque Quebec city. After deciding on the historic Chateau Frontenac, we opted to get a room on the gold floor which gave us access to the 14th floor lounge for a full breakfast as well as numerous elegant and tasty appetizers between 5 and 7p.m. There is a well stocked honour bar in the gold lounge and you can stop by for sparkling water, juice, pop, coffee or tea at the lounge at any time during the day. We found that the gold lounge was the perfect place to stop after a chilly walk around the old city! The lounge concierge was happy to make dinner recommendations and reservations for us at local restaurants. Our room had a great view of the river and was spacious. Turn down service in the evening was a nice touch. You won`t be disappointed if you decide to select the Chateau Frontenac for a relaxing winter vacation! I highly recommend asking for the newly renovated gold floor.

"A dream come true"

It was everything I have always dreamed it would be. The whole place is spectacular. The room was beautiful and the view to the river unbeatable. The dinner in the restaurant was unforgettable as each course was perfect. Then the staff were all wonderful. Spoiled rotten. Then you walk out the door to a magical place that is old Quebec City. Stroll down the stairs to the lower town for even more magic.

"We loved this quaint city and this historic hotel!"

Very historic wonderful hotel just what we were looking for a piece of history combined with a first class updated hotel with a reputation for service. From the minute we arrived in English and French everyone took wonderful care of us. From the minute we arrive at the front desk (Sandra who figured out how to get our three rooms close together to Herbert who procured a car for our large party of 5 and 7 pieces of luggage to go to Hotel La Glace.) every one spoke English and French beautifully. This was a family trip with with our 3 adult children ages 13, 15, and 25 year old. After reading Trip Advisor reviews we did request and paid a few dollars more for a renovated room and I'm very glad we did. We loved how beautiful this hotel was. The Frontenac is a Grand and Picturesque hotel, a huge Chateau with Views of the Saint Lawerence River with in itself amazed us with the ice braking boats and so much ice constantly floating by. We loved that you could walk down to the water front area or around the hotel to very quaint streets lined with unique shops and restaurants- we did this several times to browse and to eat. Twinkling lights everywhere and the hotel and town were still mostly dressed for Christmas and this was on Jan 15th. We had our best family meal at the Cochon Dingue down below the hotel- ribs and fries, French onion soup. Both the slide and the tram lift were closed so we missed that but they looked fun. There is also an iceskating rink right at the hotel. Our room service was prompt on our last night and the breakfast buffet was wonderful and we all enjoyed it immensely at 10;15am each day even though it was to close at 10:30 we never ever felt rushed. It was wonderful and everyone found things they loved. Definitely would stay at this hotel again. The beds were very comfortable as the Fairmont is know for. the only negative was one of our three bathrooms although beautifully renovated and finished out was just really small and the room was huge. It definitely was unique with small double doors and in the end it added to the character and history of such an amazing building in such a unique location. I think the reason it was so small is because originally when this hotel was built in 1893 it had 170 rooms and only 93 of them even had bathrooms and fireplaces which were remarkable luxuries at the time. Now the hotel has 618 rooms. Oh and I cant forget the hotel bar which we enjoyed each of our 3 evenings. It os one of the best we have ever been too a real cozy retreat from a day of sightseeing in below freezing temperatures.
