"Worth every penny (and not even that expensive)."
This hotel and the area around it are special enough to make it a destination; it was on our bucket list. Worth noting that in Quebec City not speaking French is truly no problem though if you are inclined to attempt a few words people are generally really kind about it. High recommendation.
"Outstanding customer service"
We had a magical stay at the Chateau, the staff went all out and gave us an unforgettable experience! It was our 20th anniversary and we were spoiled by the staff, the kids were thrilled! Our suite was a renovated room with plenty of space, our bathroom was a large size with plenty of counter space & the children had an enormous room with a pullout sofa. The Christmas trees were all lined up in the lobby, they were so beautiful and there was a treasure hunt for the children! The castle is rich in history, professional staff and excellent food! This hotel is truly a Canadian experience that is a must!
"The Princess on the Hill"
We stayed here for 3 nights in October. I requested a room with 2 beds, even with 2 beds there was plenty of open space. The beds were comfortable with nice quality sheets, they even had a reading light built into the head board. The bathroom was a good sized with plenty of room. they had salon type rooms for the bathroom( 2 doors opening in the middle) they looked good, but were sometimes a pain to deal with. We viewed the smaller rooms with one bed & they would work for a single person. The hotel had a good sized pool and hot tub on the 4 th floor. They also had a workout center. The lobby area is big with plenty of shops & service. Everything in old Quebec is within a 15 minute walk. The bar on the main floor was on the smaller side, it tended to be quite busy around 5. Great hotel with well appointed & comfortable rooms. You can take a tour of the hotel for $15.00, they are offered throughout the day & one of my friends found the tour to be interesting & informative.
"Even better than I had hoped"
I think this was the best hotel stay that I have ever had. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. We were generously upgraded from a jr suite to the Hitchcock Suite. What a beautiful room with amazing all around views. The bathroom, with a large freestanding soaking tub, was nicer than our bathroom at home. We went to the 1608 bar for drinks and delicious cheese 2 nights. We also had the wonderful buffet breakfast at the Dufferine. The selection was outstanding and varied. It was definitely worth the price. This is a beautiful hotel that has done an excellent job of maintaining its history. Every staff member that we encountered was kind and helpful. They all seemed to go out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. Getting to meet and spend a little time with Daphne was a treat. I hope to be able to stay in this castle again.
"Beautiful... but a very busy place"
Everybody must visit this iconic place in Old-Québec. Don't forget your camera. I took pictures early in the morning. Unfortunately, there was no sun. Very elegant and very gorgeous architecture, where you can learn about history of Québec and Canada. Excellent idea to go there for celebrating something special. My husband and I spent one night in a suite with a king size bed. We absolutely loved walking on the best looking street of Canada: Petit Champlain. We had a great supper and we had a superb brunch the next morning at the Château.
