"Room is small and the lift is slow"
We booked the room and was check in at 4pm. It is next to all the restaurant and is slightly outside the old city wall. Which is a nice walk when you do not want to be stuck in the tourist area all the time. The room is abit small and the lift is definitely so much slower than normal. We booked partly due to the outdoor jacuzzi but it was BAD. The Jacuzzi is not working and the temperate is mild warm which is abit sad. The parking is confusing cos we have to keep walking round and round. This hotel seem to be popular among school groups or students which are really rowdy and if you prefer quiet and private area maybe not recommended. There should be more choices in Quebec and should book only when hotel are having a promo.
Room very nice but don't expect the have a cleaned early in the day. Breakfast was included with our room & was excellent, lots to chose from. Spas just the right temperature as was the pool. Staff very nice & helpful.
It's a place to sleep outside the walls of the old city. The views are nice, and the amenities are nice too : WiFi, outdoor hot tub, sauna, pool, parking. I had booked a king room for 2 people and when I had arrived, I was assigned a room with a double bed meant for one person. I checked the bed sheets and there was a long hair under the pillow. We were very cramped all night. The air conditioning would cut off in the middle of the night and the shower had mildew and mold in the grout. I had asked for another room the next day and the person at the reception desk said, "We are fully booked, sorry. Next!" With no pause for me to speak. I fumed about it silently for a bit, and then tried a different desk clerk. He explained that the only available room was the presidential suite ($350 more a night than what I was currently paying), but he could get me a king bed for the next night. I appreciated the effort, but had another sleepless night. The new room had a lovely view, but the shower still had mildew and mold. Their refusal to honour what was promised at booking and then an increase of price to switch rooms was not appreciated. Even the more accommodating clerk still explained that the room that was booked for me was the double bed without considering that it wasn't the room I had booked. Pretty average hotel that was not worth $215 per night.
"Good Location but small rooms"
Great location for walking into and around Quebec City. Car parking costs $23 a day/night. Underground parking and secure We were in classic room that had enough room, but would have preferred a larger room as we were there for 5 nights. Enjoyed the swimming pool and outdoor spa - every day and never busy Breakfast was limited for continental, but they allowed us to pay for Toast and Coffee. Evening meals was same menu for bar and restaurant which had a good selection and reasonably priced
"Excellent stay in a superb location"
We stayed at the Chateau Laurier while visiting family during the Easter weekend. We were given room 333 which was lovely. This room had a wooden floor instead than carpet which was a pleasant surprise. Bathroom was well appointed and stocked properly. We were greeted by a very helpful and friendly employee and received a $15 wine voucher for booking directly with the hotel. We also used the indoor parking lot which was very convenient. We were so pleased with our stay that we already booked our 5 night stay for the end of year family reunion. ðŸ‘
