"Lunch with my Swiss friends on the terrasse of the Hotel Sacacomie"

The weather was very nice so my wife and I decided to have lunch with our Swiss friends on the terrasse of the hotel Sacacomie. We liked the lobby, the resto-bar and the restaurant. The manager and the staff were very helpful. The terrasse was all renovated. I admired the sun umbrellas and breath taking view of the lake. To celebrate the event we had a bottle of Quebec Rosé wine. After the soupe of the day we had a smoke meat sandwich. The food was very good and we decided to go to the beach and look at a room with a view of the lake. We already dream of spending two full days at this hotel.

"Almost perfect but not 100%"

Here is a beautiful hotel in the middle of the wild nature. The hotel at a first glance is really a great way to discover the Canadian nature. The first diapointment comes with our reservation bookings. We got overcharge on our credit card. The rooms are clean and the towels are numerous. The room temperature is off balance too warm and with no AC. The wifi is working on and off and it is even more frustrating since there is no TV in the rooms. The food in half board is OK but not great. After 3 days you run short of options with the dishes on the menu. All the activities are well organised. We did the Quad, the Seaplane , the electrical bikes and the beavers. All of them were great and well organised.. Finally, we got our bill which was kind of pricey but the whole invoice format is terrible and difficult to understand if you are not an accountant. The staff was kind and helpful.

"Beautiful location"

We are 2 couples travelling together and stayed for 1 night at Hotel Sacacomie. We booked a Lakeside Room each and had expected amazing lake views given the photos that are on the website. Unfortunately this was not the case. One room on the 4th floor has quite nice views from the side of the balcony but the other on the ground floor only had limited glimpses through the trees which was disappointing. The front desk manager was very helpful when we asked to be moved but the hotel was fully booked so this was not possible, such a shame as we feel we didn't get what we had booked, in particular the lower floor room. There are a number of complimentary excursions but make sure you book well in advance. We called to book 2 weeks prior but were told to call back on the day of our stay which we did only to be told the tour we wanted was booked out! We went on a lovely hike instead and the next morning took a couple of canoes across the lake which was beautiful. The hotel itself is massive and the rooms a bit dated but location amongst the forest is perfect. Just make sure you take note of the recommendations above.

"Good hotel, great location!"

My husband and I just spent two nights at the Hotel Sacacomie and we had such a good time there. The Hotel is located in a very beautiful area, on the Lake Sacacomie, by itself. It is very remote. When we arrived the welcome was warm and smiling. The hotel now is becoming old. It needs really some work done and some furniture changed... I booked a junior suite, but it was very small. I was also disappointed because I thought that we could use the wood fireplace in our room, but there was no wood. The bathroom was very small too. There was no A/C (but a fan), no TV and no fridge. There was a coffee machine but only 2 capsules (normally at many of the hotels we stayed they offer at least 4 capsules). There was a private patio with two chairs and the view from there was really breathtaking!!! The best part of our room :-) Parking was free and wifi too. We had two robes (for the spa) but no sandals (we were obliged to buy them because they were mandatory at the spa). There were many free activities: canoe, kayak, pedal boat, beach, and more than 65km of private trails (reserved only for the clients of the Hotel ;-). We did the "sentier du lynx", the "sentier du portage" and then back by the "sentier lambert". It took us about 2 hours, and they were great! The restaurant of the hotel was good. We had a good dinner and the breakfast buffet was very good too! So, all in all, it is a good hotel...

"Very Disappointing "

Well after travelling over 3 hrs, we arrived to find it in a very grand setting, but that quickly changed. When checking in the reception staffs where not helpful at all. I was handed a piece of paper which was all in French, I had not a clue what it said, to which my partner went to the desk and was give an English paper ?? Explaining meal packages. Explored the room no AC just a fan, no mini fridge, room looked very dated. Evening meal menu and a 5 page wine list was offered we are not wine drinkers, so handed menus back ordered meal very bland, nothing special, mean while we still had not been asked if we would like any drinks?? I could go on but let's say there is the most welcoming restaurant in the the town at a fraction of the hotels price and a lot more tasteful. Overall view needs to be all inclusive as you can not even buy a bottle of water and been 15 mins from the little town this is not helpful, staff were rude felt very out of place as we are not French and could not be bothered with us. This I also notice with other people as well. One lady staff member in particular was very rude too non speaking French guest, will not be recommending and certainly never going back, complete rip off.
