Over West Coast Wilderness Lodge

We recently attending a wedding at this lodge. The setting is incredible. The deck was large enough to support the wedding with a breathtaking backdrop, the dining facility was great. The rooms are probably overpriced but I suspect it is expensive to maintain a hotel in this setting. The staff in the main were great. There were a few exceptions where customer service did not come first but on the whole the group were excellent to deal with. The biggest issue was the baby sitting services which were outrageously expensive and not very helpful. Please hire some local teenagers who are motivated to be with children
"Magical September Wedding"
We were married at West Coast Wilderness Lodge in September and have only great things to say about it! The views are spectacular, the staff friendly and the food delicious. It provides a great mix of wilderness with luxury rooms. We highly recommend making a weekend of it and experiencing the local hiking trails and the zodiac tours! A big thank you to George and team for all his help in the planning and making sure everyone was taken care of. The Back Eddy next door was accommodating but the rooms are very basic and we heard the showers had some issues. For vendors, we highly recommend Andy at Dancetrax (DJ) and Courtney Munsen (Photographer), they were fantastic. Do NOT hire Greig Soohen as Officiant...despite going over our vows with him 2 weeks before our wedding he forgot about the wedding and turned up over 2 hours late causing a ton of stress and causing us to miss precious time with our friends, family and 1 year old son. Overall, a wonderful place to get married and we look forward to returning to celebrate our anniversaries!
"Magical wedding - beautiful place!"
We are still on a high after having our wedding at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge. The venue staff were wonderful to work with, very accommodating on-site and were SUPER prepared for the massive storm that happened to come through the night of our wedding! Even with the rain and wind the place is magic, and we wouldn't change anything. If you are looking for a true west coast experience the lodge lives up to its name of being in such a beautiful part of our Canadian wilderness. Our guests had a great time staying at the lodge as well as the BackEddy and Bathgates. There was sea kayaking with sea lions, swimming (!) and hikes through the rainforest. The food was delicious, the ambiance perfect, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A big thank you to Paul, Patti, George, Gen and all the staff who made our wedding so memorable.
"British Columbia Suncoast Gem"
Visited this property on a Kenmore Air special. A friend and I flew from Lake Washington in Seattle to the West Coast Wilderness Lodge. Rooms were clean, some had waterviews, others woods view. The staff was outstanding. Paul, the owner, tries to visit with all the guests. He provided an opportunity to see the area by car one day. Food was good. We hiked a little, took a 4 hour Zodiac boat tour one day and had a guided kayak tour another day.
"we came for a wedding"
It was a wet windy weekend for a fall wedding. Staff were great. Very accommodating. Views from the restaurant were magnificent. Need to return when the sun shines. All the meals were enjoyable and the bar was well stocked and kept busy!
