Over Emerald Lake Lodge

Great place to visit, rooms were cozy and comforting. Lots of activities to enjoy the outdoors and not too far from ski hills. Overall great stay, however restaurant service staff can use some improvement.
Incredible solitude, snowy trails, blazing fires, good food, snow sprinkled pines, and majestic untouched mountains. It doesn't get much better. Find your escape. Snowy "beaches," frozen lake, outdoor hot tub.
I would give this place 20 stars if I could! My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to emerald lake for our anniversary, BEST DECISION EVER. Not only is this place SO incredibly beautiful, but during the off seasons it is so peaceful and relaxing. Half the time when we were walking around we didn't see anybody (except employees) and when we were standing on our balcony we couldn't hear anything but the sound of snow falling. It was perfect. The rooms are cute and cozy, there's a fireplace in the corner and a balcony! Sadly the lake was covered in snow so we couldn't tell much BUT if we would have had the same room in summer time we would have had the perfect view of the beautiful green lake. The food was amazing! A little pricey, but that was to be expected. Service was impeccable & front desk people were really friendly. We had an amazing anniversary and we couldn't thank this lodge enough for it. If you are thinking of going, YOU MUST!!! Off season is also less expensive and more relaxing!
"No heat in -30 weather"
We came up on a Friday night after work. The Saturday night was my husbands Christmas party and they did change our room over and upgrade the room on Saturday, after I said we had to move. Unfortunately that was the night of the Christmas party and a room upgrade meant nothing as we weren't going to be in there anyway. To make a long story short we ended up sleeping in a freezing cold room Friday night and still had to pay for it. So completely disappointed in this place and the fact that they did not change our room Friday evening and then still charged us for it!! A wood burning fire dies out fast. It was less than 10 degrees in our room all night! -30 temps outside! They weren't full capacity and because I wasn't rude or demanding they didn't do anything . The front desk was supposed to call back two different times because they were "looking" for a room and never did. The maintenance guy was still at our room after midnight with his last ditch effort that failed. He was great and felt bad but still nothing was done to move us as we had requested. It's an absolutely stunning location, beautiful both in the summer and winter. The rooms have a slight rustic charm but are in need of renovations. Very clean rooms and the beds in both rooms we had were very comfortable! I would never stay here again though until the heating was fixed. There were other people in our large group without heat too! For the price they charge for the rooms here it is definitely not worth the stay! I would recommend storm mountain lodge instead. Food is phenomenal. Very cute little cabins and within minutes driving distance to loads of hiking trails and town of Banff. Drive up to see beautiful emerald lake but don't waste your time staying there!
Emerald Lake Lodge could possibly be the most beautiful place I've ever been in my life. My boyfriend and I visited for two nights for my 30th birthday. We parked and shuttled to the main lodge then checked in and went to our room. The whole process was very easy, efficient and fast. Our room was amazing with a patio overlooking the lake and a fireplace with firewood provided. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but it was somewhere to lay our heads. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, offering rides in the little gator all over the property if you need (was nice when we had our luggage not to have to carry all of it all the way to our room). We had breakfast in the Main Lodge dining room, it was good, and the prices were reasonable. We had dinner in the lobby bar and it was fantastic! I highly recommend the veggie burger!! We (tried to) play pool on the snooker table upstairs but couldn't figure out what we were doing (I may have had one or two delicious vodka martinis by then). When we checked out there was an extra charge on our bill from the lounge that we hadn't charged to our room (we always paid by cash) but the girl was very good about taking it off, I don't know if that's a common occurrence but just watch out for that! Huge shoutout to Tony the shuttle driver. Tony was so awesome right from the beginning, helping us with our bags, answering all our questions and bringing us extra firewood when we needed it. I would go back to Emerald Lake Lodge in a heartbeat!
