Over Emerald Lake Lodge

"Great location, tired rooms"
Location is amazing, staff are young and energetic, the wood burning fireplace makes for a romantic stay. Just expect that the rooms have seen their hay-day but you can't beat the location. Food is over-priced (supply and demand) so take you're own bottle of wine and a cooler (everyone does). If you like a firm (hard) bed, you'll be happy. Come for the view and sitting by the fire.
surreal location. friendly and amazing staff. dined at mount burgess and had the roasted chicken - it was unreal! having a wood fireplace in the room is a nice touch. pricey place to stay and dine but definitely a nice splurge.
while the hotel can't control the comings and goings of guests, the footsteps of the guests in the cabin above ourswould at the least be loud, if not thundering. That being said, the bed was unforgiving, the pillows unsupporting, and the lighting inadequate.
""Run Down Property""
This property sits in a very Beautiful area. And the lodge had a lot of things going for it at one time. But when we arrived in March 2017 it was a whole different story. So when you arrive you park your car in there parking lot located about a mile away. They come and shuttle you to the lodge and at that time you are now a "Captive Audience" to them. What I mean is that there are a lot of things that hotels do that this place does not. Like for instance...There is NO WIFI in any of the rooms. Only the main lodge. And not very good speed there at all. No Phone other than to the lodge, There are no microwaves or mini refrigerators in the rooms, so that forces you to eat (and pay through the NOSE) at there lodge. There rooms are are called "Rustic" and that means OLD....Dirty...and don't forget about Smelly. This place takes your hard earned cash and you get ...Well......Not much other than the beautiful scenery that mother nature gave to management or whoever bought this property many years a go. This place needs a serious renovation to be brought up to the level that they charge. Rooms are over priced. Amenities are SPARSE and they wrap it all up in a bow that makes it look so nice. And it really is. It's a stunning place to be. All looks and NO SHOW !!
"Emerald Lake Lodge March 2017"
We had a lovely cozy stay despite the rain that fell while we were there. We had hoped to do a bit more cross country skiing but the weather dampened our plans. All of the staff were very helpful. My only complaint was the bed was way to soft, felt like sleeping in a bowl. Overall a beautiful place to stay, our experience was with great services too!
