Over Emerald Lake Lodge

"Feeling very disappointed due to critter in room"
My other half and I just stayed Oct 22 for one night. Accommodations were nice, service in the restaurant was good and food was wonderful. Early in the morning of Oct 23, I encountered a mouse in our room! Called front desk, oh we'all send someone over. Really??!! We were packed and ready to leave within 10 minutes and maintenance came. The gentleman was very nice, told him we saw the mouse and it ran under the bed, and when we looked to see if we could see it, the mess under the bed was horrifying! He politely told us after we checked out, he would come back, told him we were leaving now. Went to check out, explained the situation and we were asked to wait to speak to another lady working. The offer was 20% off our room, totally unacceptable! The offer finally went to half off our bill and breakfast, we reluctantly agreed as we were so disappointed, room was quite expensive and it seemed like they were doing us a favour. It was our anniversary and nothing like being awake at 8am due to a scratching noise at the cupboard door and then the mouse. Had stayed in the past and never had an issue but not sure we'll be back as it just seemed like more should've been done and I didn't want to make a scene as it was very busy but just very disappointed. I live in the country so I know animals can get in from anywhere, but for the price of this room, I would've expected much better service and cleaner and more done for the inconvenience
We arrived in the late afternoon when the sun was shining brightly after a storm. It was an unforgettable sight. But we did waste a little bit of time at the guest parking before seeing this beautiful sight. The setting might seem weird for first time visitors, as the guest parking area is a bit of distance from the lake, so you'd need a shuttle to commute between the guest parking and the lodging area. However, public parking which is very full during the day, is right outside of the lodge. Our Lakefront King suite was located on the second floor of a quadruplex located right by the lake. The view from our balcony was stunning. We just sat there soaking in the gently sunlight and the changing colors of the water as the sun set behind the pine trees. We retreated to our living room when the hungry mosquito started to come out... Outside the window, glittering light danced on the glassy turquoise surface until about 10 o'clock. The room with a King and a sofa bed seemed recently updated. We were quite happy with it for the most part. However, the bathtub seemed a bit out of place (older) compared to the rest of the bathroom. It would have been perfect if the tub were replaced too. So I'd give just 4 star for the room, but 5 stars for the location.
Beautiful location, great spot for an isolated and quite get away. Dining is too expensive if you plan on more than a one night stay. We stayed for 3 nights and had to seek other dining options in Field and Lake Louise to keep overall costs for our trip in hand. Rooms need renovating , furnishings and lighting need upgrading. Difficult to read a book at night unless you sat in bed or directly under a lamp. Bell team was great, very friendly and healthful. Front dest was only Lukewarm. We would return in the future but would not stay more than 2 nights due to limited dining and dining costs.
"Great stop on your way through the Rockies"
This is Devine. You just can not believe how emerald Emerald Lake really is. The Lodge is great for a coffee, vino and / or a sandwich.,This is a Must stop on your way through the Canadian Rockies. If you have a chance also stay over for a few days at the lodge.
This really is a beautiful place, with views that are even better from the distance of one of the breathtaking hikes in the area. The hotel itself is grand, and rooms comfortable though there needs to be more access to coffee in the early morning as that supplied in the rooms is terrible. There is a choice of restaurants on site and we had no trouble getting a table either day of our two-day stay. We visited in July and it appeared to be crowded with people, both staying and day-trippers though that luckily didn't negatively affect the experience. Hotel design allows for rooms to have both privacy and great views even if you're not actually overlooking the lake.
