"Bad bad value."
Cabin #10 was a complete joke. Cheap furnishings and window treatments. Cheap bathroom fixtures and overall a decrepit building. Needs a complete overhaul by a professional carpenter not a handyman. Doors didn't close properly because cabin is almost falling into the ocean. See through window treatments for when you don't care about privacy, even when you're changing. Had to hang a blanket over it. Bugs and bathroom was freezing. Shower pressure was absolutely terrible. Same quality as those cabin/ motels on the side of a highway in a small town. Not the resort spa experience we were hoping for. The pictures online are not what you get I guess. Stay at this hotel if you like spending a lot for nothing. Like a 25$ meal at a food court.
Nature, silence and beauty... The tent suites are gorgeous, but if you go in the winter being extra warm clothes. They have heaters and heated floors, but it can get a little chilly. Great place to relax, enjoy nature and rekindle the romance.
"Not good! Very not good!"
Stayed there with my family and blah blah blah. Room was dirty, outdated and sloping to the left. Bathroom was tiny. Really tiny and gross. Doors didn't close and the window blinds didn't cover the windows. Spa experience from Soviet Russia maybe? Don't go if you like your money. If money isn't important to you, then enjoy the bugs and the IKEA furniture.
"Perfect weekend getaway"
It was the perfect weekend for my husband and I. Can't wait to come back! The view in our tent suit was unreal, and the food in the restaurant was absolutely incredible. We were very impressed! What a spectacular weekend.
"Disappointing at best"
We stayed in the Ocean's Edge Honeymoon cabin for a weekend in July 2015. I intended to review sooner however the photos that I took of the room were on an SD card that ended up getting corrupted and I have been trying to recover the photos. My husband and I had been enthusiastic about visiting this location for two summers as the weekend trip was gifted to me by my employer and we had been waiting for an ideal time to use it. The first thing we noticed on arrival was how neglected the cabins exterior was- a powerwash and a coat of paint could have made a big difference. This is a theme we found on the property, just general neglect. We unload our bags in the room and immediately discover what appears to be weeks of dust and debris around the perimeter of the room. I found a dirty hair curler and enormous dust bunnies with hair sitting under the window, along with dozens of dead bugs. I called housekeeping and asked them to have someone come by to clean this. A young man showed up shortly and handed me a vacuum. I asked him politely to clean it up and he did. Looking out the window to the outside edge of the property, I then discover a pile of old discarded lumber and junk piled beneath the cabin window. Not exactly the picturesque view advertised. The furniture inside was old and cheap looking. The chairs were too low, so that if you actually sat in them, you could not see out the window for that ocean view you paid for. Outside, the two patio chairs were also cheap, and needed a fabric cushion to be comfortable. Too bad it had rained prior to our arrival and they had been left out and were absolutely soaked, so we could not sit on the patio. We tried to get ice for a bottle of wine that we wanted to enjoy and ended up having to go to the back door of the kitchen, and a gentlemen from the kitchen staff put some in a ziploc for us to carry back to our room. Our meals at the restaurant were okay. Nothing spectacular, and we opted to eat most of our meals elsewhere. Overall, this was not worth the over $600 after tax for 2 nights. I have experienced cleaner, nicer cabins with better customer service at KOA campgrounds. The Sunshine Coast area is stunning but I would advise visitors to stay anywhere else other than Rockwater.
