"Unique. Relaxing. "
We enjoyed our time here very much and found our room to be comfortable and well maintained. Very comfortable in fact. We walked around the lake a number of times and marvelled at the beauty of the place. Make sure you check to see if the phone in your room is working, especially if you are some distance from reception and if it isn't, request another room as it won't be fixed and you will need to sprint down to the lodge each time you have a question.. which is fine in sunny weather of course. Breakfast is delicious, don't order eggs until you've had fruit etc as it will all come at once. Service in Orso was excellent. Most staff delightful, Paddy a role model of genuine helpfulness. It's a great place to stay.
"Fun and Unique"
Stayed in lake view cabin 109. Beautiful view of the lake and an old school wood stove with plenty of logs. Very clean, comfortable room and close to the main lodge. The Emerald Lounge was fun with excellent food (try the Butter Chicken Chili), beautiful lake view and great live entertainment. Swimming in the warm pool on a cold night under the stars was great. We saw many elk, a moose, and an eagle nesting. Outstanding service that was friendly and made us feel welcome.
"1 night at the Park Lodge"
Had a lovely stay at one of the cabins right next to the lake. We arrived a little bit early so we had a drink in the lounge while the room was being cleaned. They texted us when it was ready which was a nice touch. Plenty of parking and if not available then they will valet your car for free. Had a great dinner in the lounge and relaxed on our cabins patio area in the evening. Really nice and quiet location. Had a fantastic buffet breakfast in the Italian restaurant followed by a dip in the pool/hot tub. We really like the changing room facilities. Only downside was one of the bell staff looking after vehicles was rather rude to us but apart from that it was a fantastic and relaxing stay.
"Not for people with disabilities"
We would definitely had not booked this hotel had we known we would be in a lodge a long way from the main hotel with stairs. As I am disabled I struggled to get up the stairs to the lodge and could not face having to keep doing this so remained in the lodge for the 3 days we were there. When we checked in the receptionist looked horrified when she saw I was disabled and explained that we would have to climb stairs to our accommodation. We asked if we could upgrade and pay the extra but she said we were in the best accommodation. We asked if we could stay in the hotel even if they couldn't refund any money but she said it was fully booked. As you can't park near the hotel it meant we couldn't go and eat in any of the restaurants. If you were in a wheelchair there is no way you would be ably to access the accommodation. I can find nowhere on the hotel website that states you will have problems if you are disabled. It would also have been a big problem if there had been an emergency to try and get down the stairs to get out. The accommodation was very clean and the staff were very polite and helpful. We had room service a few times and the food was excellent. Just a shame we didn't know about the problems before we arrived.
"Winter! At the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge"
Having visited Jasper approx; three years ago in the summer, this visit took on a totally different outlook . This stay was captivating to say the least ,as the winter scenery from the windows of the Lodge was incredible . The porters & front reception staff were genuinely super friendly & helpful, even found some staff to be from Australia. Our room was positioned about a hundred meters from the main building, only a very short but quick stroll !! Minding the very slippery & icy conditions. The room itself was quite roomy with heated floor ect;very comfortable & clean, with our luggage dropped to our door what more could one ask for!We picked a lovely day to explore the area around the lodge even though it was in the --- minus degree! The area groomed on the lake for ice skating was certainly being well used. If looking for a snack or coffee, downstairs there is awesome shop with some delightful food to go.As mentioned in my write up of the Emerald Lounge try to get a window seat as we were so lucky to have a herd of Caribou wander right up to the lodge at sunset ,for safety sake local security staff fired off warning shots to deter their stay ,but it was awesome to have them so close to the Lodge then wander off across the frozen Lake. We really enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Jasper lodge & hope to return in the not to distant future!
