"A wonderful winter break"
I took my three-year-old son on a break to the Château Lake Louise for one night. We had a Junior suite Lakeview, which gave a spectacular view down on the lake, and we watched everybody doing winter activities, and loved the glacier scenery. We love the Château because it makes it so easy to do outdoor things directly from the hotel. We went sledding, we walked to the end of the lake and back twice, and we spent time over at the ski hill learning to ski. We actually prefer Lake Louise in winter, especially mid week. The Château and the region as a whole is very quiet. After you've experienced the summer rush, the quietness is truly beautiful. Also the rates are very affordable mid week in winter too. The only downside was we went on a Sunday and several of the restaurants were closed because it just isn't that busy. We did manage to get a beautiful table in the Fairview lounge and we were able to watch the sunset while having dinner. My suggestion if you go is to pay the extra for a lake view room, especially if you can get one on the higher levels. There is also a special discount for Alberta residents if you book online on the Fairmont site.
"Perfect winter getaway, Narnia rediscovered"
Chateau Lake Louise is a perfect winter getaway. We came from Australia, it was 35 degrees when we left, arrived to -25! Its a beautiful old dame of a hotel, great restaurants and bars, comfy rooms (get a lakeside view room, its worth it to just watch the weather change across the spectacular valley). But many of the employees are very special. Our advice is get a cross country ski lesson from Geoff, he is a great teacher and he opened us up to miles of beautiful Narnia like tracks and passes all around the hotel. Cost $29 for the gear, and $65 for the lesson, and it was one of the best days I've ever had on holiday. You will find geoff down by the lake. Enjoy!
"Lunch at Lake Louise"
This is one of our favorite things to do in Banff National Park. We go to this hotel for lunch. You can wait for a table by the window and sit back and enjoy a fantastic view and some great food. We have a condo in Canmore and have done this many by ourselves and with friends.
"Lake Louise Breathtaking!"
The Fairmont Lake Louise was one of the many beautiful historic hotel accommodations on our tour to the Canadian Rockies . A massive hotel with lots of history past and present . Comfortable accommodations and beautiful inside and the surrounding grounds with breathtaking views of Lake Louise from each rooms window .
"You'll never regret choosing this hotel"
What an amazing experience! The hotel itself is beautiful, the grounds, the frozen lake, the ice rink that the hotel creates for guests and locals, the restaurants and bars everything is elegantly done. You will be mesmerized by the views of the lake and the mountains. I wouldn't fuss too much about getting a room with lake views - you can stand pretty much anywhere in the hotel and get great views. It is a visual feast. The food and drinks on site are expensive, but there is a deli which is more reasonable and where you can get take away food and coffees for a day on the slopes or on a tour bus. The bed was very comfortable. The room quite small but then we barely spent any time in it so it wasn't an issue. I do wish hotels would provide more than one suitcase stand in each room as a matter of course. I know you can request a second one, but considering that most people only stay a night or two in this location, I would have thought it would be recognized that few people will want to unpack - they'll just want to access a few things in their case. I wish we had booked a second night here - we just didn't have time to appreciate the amenities and facilities. The staff are incredibly helpful and the bell staff in particular were wonderful helping sort out an issue we had with our transportation. I would highly recommend a stay here.
