"Great stay!"

Very clean hotel, extremely convenient as right next to the ski hill. A very quiet experience as well. Service staff very quick to respond and helpful. The pool area very well maintained. The lobby is clean warm and inviting with fireplaces.

"Sun Peaks ski weekend"

The resort was super busy but managed the crowds well. We stayed on the top floor of the hotel so enjoyed the breakfasts and happy hour. Good selection of food at both. Lovely large room. Great staff. We found there was ample staff who were willing to help right at drop off of our luggage and delivering our luggage to our room. Because our son booked our room as well as his own, and because we arrived at different times due to travel arrangements, we could not get into our room until he arrived so we had to hangout in the lobby which was frustrating especially after travelling the whole day by car. However the staff were sympathetic and friendly.

"Fabulous experience. They know how to take care of their guests"

This visit to Sun Peaks Grand was as terrific as our visit in 2016. Everything about this property was wonderful. The room was very nice and comfortable. The staff were excellent - very helpful and and very service oriented. We had asked for a humidifier, a few weeks before arrival and - guess what, it was there in the room when we arrived. Yes, "they did what they said they'd do. So what?" . Still, execution is an area where lots of resorts drop the ball. The food was great - especially good (and fast) from room service which normally has only so-so stuff in most hotels. The ski storage service within the hotel was an especially welcome treat at the end of a long ski day. Just hand your skis over to the friendly person behind the counter and you're done: no elbowing into a cold, crowded ski lockup room - sometimes at the other end of the building (e.g Cahilty) and fidgeting with locks. And speaking of the end of the ski day: they have 3 large, outdoor hot tubs which are fabulous. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thanks Sun Peaks Grand - we'll be back

"Do not stay here"

The location is great, but the hotel is very noisy. I could hear my neighbor talking from next door. I could hear the people above me walking around all day and night, doors slamming. I don’t think this hotel has any insolation. The hot tubs are over run by kids and there is no quiet area. I need a vacation from this vacation.

"Souless, tired and lacking professionalism"

As guests who had not visited this hotel before I read the reviews and felt confident this 'fully serviced' hotel would meet our expectations. Our first impressions when greeted by the receptionist, (who could not get rid of us quick enough), were that this hotel appeared tired and chaotic. Reception staff were unkempt and lacked professionalism. A bright cheery smile goes a long when greeting guests who have been travelling. The deluxe mountain view room allocated was tired, dated and noisy. Our 3rd floor room was above the service corridor, so staff working would wake us at 5am. I surmise laundry trollies were pushed up and down which sounded like a jet plane. Sound quality in the rooms is poor. Listening to guests in other rooms using the bathroom for all of their needs was not enjoyable; nor listening to their TV choices. We were aware of the room refurbishment programme, and one would hope that this extends to a deep clean of the reception areas, ground floor communal areas, lobby, etc. The large curtains on the stairs are in desperate need of cleaning. Restaurant seating needs to be renewed, so hopefully this will be included in their refurbishment programme as much of the bench seating is worn, torn and very tired. Be aware: if you ask reception to confirm an airport transfer, you may be handed the phone and told "here you are, you do it". This level of service is poor considering The Grand's website promotes "with services designed to make you feel special". Sadly not what we experienced. Reception also dealt with a housekeeping query badly; better training needed on how to interact with guests on a professional level please. Ski valet was a bonus, but lacked any ski boot drying facility. Let's hope the room refurbishment will include this essential piece of equipment for the winter season. Damp, cold boots to wear the next day ski-ing is not fun. If you enjoy a busy, noisy, soulless hotel who cater for the large parties, school tours, weddings, business conference meetings who intermingle with holidaymakers then this may be for you. Sadly this hotel was not for us. On a positive note, the resort is delightful with super restaurants, Powderhounds a must. Our ski-ing here was wonderful and yes we had a great holiday and yes I would return to the resort, but would find alternative accommodation that would suit us better.
