"Hi 👋🏻"

Great place but t pricy but it was a little bit pricey I finally had a option to do it again I would not go there I would rather a better deal this was a very big letdown very pretty but very expensive and such a long drive as well they should be lucky to have our service not trying to flush us out of the water I making us look like fools there of the fools they are fools foolish I tell you and quite frank

"Christmas/ Anniversary getaway"

We arrived on Dec 24th to our trail view suite. We were on the top floor of a 4 plex and the view was as advertised.... On the door a sign indicating that this was a pet free room greeted us. Upon opening the door however we were greeting with a dog bed, food dish and dog biscuit! The room was pleasantly appointed with a functioning kitchenette. However, if you wanted to eat anything it had to be in your lap. No table. The bathroom was beautiful to look at with a huge shower and heated floors. It's functionality came into question when we showered. The hand held shower head would not stay in place and the rain head diverter was next to impossible to initiate. Then, water temperature! The first shower on Christmas day was fine but the second was left with COLD water only. As there was no housekeeping and limited staff we said nothing hoping it was a one time occurrence. We were wrong. Exactly the same next day. Surely a supposedly upscale resort would have sufficient water heating capability. We patronized both the Float lounge (good) and Fetch restaurant ( overcooked seafood and highly overrated). We will not return.

"Awful Honeymoon Experience"

My husband and I had booked this hotel for our honeymoon in September for ten nights. After reading the online reviews from the hotel and looking at pictures, the hotel looked awesome, and came with spectacular views. We were especially excited for our ocean front view in a more secluded trail suite. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and were unable to even stay for one night. The views were spectacular with floor to ceiling windows in our suite. Immediately, however, we noticed that we could hear our neighbours clearly talking and looked out the window to see that they were on their balcony. This means that we could be in our suite and they could clearly see into both our bedroom and the living room. We were pretty disappointed with this, as who can really be comfortable knowing that anyone can see directly and clearly into their hotel room. The next thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the room. The kitchen garbage was still full and had remained un-emptied from the previous guests. This seems like a fairly obviously cleaning task, and made us wonder what else in the room had not been properly cleaned. As well, there was animal hair in all the corners of the room. Both my husband and I are allergic to pets and we started to become allergic after five minutes of being in the suite. This was partially my fault, as I had not told the hotel that we had allergies; however, I have never had this issue in any other hotel, which seems like this room was never properly cleaned. We also noticed that the place was more run down that the pictures had shown, and I am guessing this is because there are pets allowed in the rooms. Disappointing for the amount of money we were paying per night. We then went to the front desk and asked the girl out the counter if she could find us an allergy friendly room, and told her the issue with the garbage. She was very understanding and although it took a while, she did find us another pet free room. The next room we tried was in the main hotel on the ground floor. Not quite as nice views, but something we were willing to sacrifice for our allergies. Luckily in this room, our neighbours couldn't see in, however, there was a trail to the spa and hot tub that was directly in front of our room, so everyone walking by (and there was quite a few) could see directly into our suite. So much for privacy. At this point we had decided it wasn't worth our money or frustration to spend the full ten days of our honeymoon at this hotel. Being tired and frustrated, we decided to go to bed. However, upon walking into the bedroom, the whole carpet from front of the bed to foot, was soaked. Again, we went to the front desk to tell the same girl our issues and she sent maintenance to look. Maintenance came and couldn't figure out what was leaking or had spilled and asked us to find another room. Another trip to the front desk. This time, from listening to other hotel guests at the front, we knew the hotel was full so we weren't sure how we would get another room. Another twenty minutes talking to her manager, she came back to tell us they could have another room ready for us in forty minutes and gave us a $50 gift card to use at the hotel for a future stay. We weren't sure what kind of room we would be getting since the hotel was full and the room was unready to go at 10:00 at night, and also being beyond frustrated at this point, we decided to give up and find somewhere else for our honeymoon. Being that it was still high season, places were booked and we had to come home to Alberta for the remainder of our trip. All in all, a pretty disappointing honeymoon. Although the girl at the front desk were were dealing with tried her best and was understanding, her coworker dealing with other guests complaints, was far less than friendly. There were a few other people complaining at the front while we were there, one being that the inside door to another suite wouldn't close/lock so anyone could come into their room. While it was nice to know we weren't the only ones having issues, I'm not sure how this hotel has such wonderful reviews. Besides the view, there is not much else going for this hotel, especially given the high room rates The hotel which we stayed for our wedding in Tofino was wonderful, and I only wish we had stayed there for the rest of our honeymoon. Come to Ucluelet to see the beautiful, rocky coast, but don't stay in this hotel!

Gorgeous hotel, fantastic views. Excellent rooms. The restaurant offered superb food. altough on the pricey side, and the spa was lovely. The location of the hotel was great for exploration of that part of the island.

"Pounding Surf and Tranquil Forests"

If you want an ocean-side experience filled with the unfettered beauty of the Pacific and the tranquility of wonderful forests at the same time - the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is the place. You can walk right down to the ocean or watch it pound into the small fiord around which the resort is designed - as the tide changes and just a short walk away are dog-friendly trails through mature forests. The people at the Resort do cartwheels to make your stay comfortable, safe and happy - and the food at the resort restaurant is wonderful too (try both their breakfasts and their dinners - our steaks were exquisite)!!! The Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is a fabulous pet-friendly place to relax and wander!!!!....And just a 25 minute drive away is Tofino with galleries, artisan shops and more fine dining.
