"Convenient for Ferry passengers"

Stayed there since it is only 10 min by taxi to the bc ferry terminal and triggered by the positive reviews.Rooms with all modern features.Odd numbers face the road ,even numbers the parking lot (less noise). We stayed in the second of 3 floors.Noise from the room above, kids hopping on the floor not to be overheard.

"Lovely stay"

Spent 4 nights at this hotel recently and enjoyed my stay. The suite we had was very spacious and lovely with First Nations artwork. House keeping did an excellent job. We had an evening meal at the hotel and was very pleased with our meal and service. I would suggest a larger wine by the glass menu but that's my preference. Prices seemed to be inline with most BC dinner menus. The few things I would criticize is that there needs to be Do Not Disturb/Make Up Our Room signs for the doors. Also we experienced a front desk person upon check in who didn't know what credit cards were accepted and she left the desk to find out if our room was ready. I'm guessing she needs re-training. However Ben was a rock star at early morning check out.

"Great place to crash after ferry ride"

We tried this place after the long Ferry ride from Prince Rupert. Quick check In, despite the lineup of fellow ferry travellers. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds for tired kids to flop on. Nice bathrooms, which seemed like luxury in the middle of a long camping trip. Continental breakfast was simple but adequate for us...the kids were thrilled with the little boxes of Fruit Loops. We didn't get a chance to try the nice restaurant. From the outside it looked like one of the nicer places to stay in the city.

"Good accommodation"

Never having been to Port Hardy we decided to drive there from North Vancouver and really enjoyed our long drive there from Nanaimo's ferry terminal. We specifically chose the Kwa'lilas because of the First Nations ownership. We were very pleased we made the choice. The hotel was easy to locate as it is right off the highway and at Port Hardy's entrance. The hotel's lobby area is extremely attractive and proudly shows its cultural heritage. Rooms are similarly attractive, though have a bit of a standard hotel feel to them. We ate a very good meal in the hotel's restaurant, which was very busy as many guests were staying at the hotel waiting to take the morning ferry to Prince Rupert. Our only disappointment with Kwa'lilas was the "Grab and Go" breakfast the following morning which consisted of items such as boxed cereals, yogurt, fruit and lukewarm coffee. Improvement in this area is highly recommended.. Restaurant and front desk staff were helpful, courteous and professional.

"Very fine hotel"

We had a one night stay. It was very nice in the newly renovated hotel. Plenty of parking. The staff was ready when we arrived with the ferry, so the check-in was quick, and we had a good night sleep. But - you need to step up on the breakfast buffet. A room at size of a closet, with 6-8 seats, and very little to choose from. The breakfast does not fit the quality of rest of hotel. If it had, you would have gotten 5 stars and thumbs-up
