Over Water's Edge Shoreside Suites

"Quiet, excellent location, lots of space, breathtaking view"
We have been staying in a waterside unit overlooking the harbour. The large windows give lots of natural light and the view is constantly changing with wildlife, boats and general harbour side activity. It is so quiet and the daylight is there from 5.30/6 am until 9.30/10pm. All amenities ie shops, cafes, restaurants although no extensive provide e dry thing you need at both the staff at the resort and locals very welcoming and helpful. Will be very sorry to leave.
"Charmless Accommodations "
We are in a 2-bedroom 2-bathroom unit. Absolute minimum of kitchen utensils and tableware. All furnishings with zero character. High edge bathtub with no handholds. Shower with no inside ledges for soap and shampoo. Boardwalk on grounds is rotting away. No written instructions for anything. The location is beautiful but the property is tired inside and out. An enterprise clearly headed downhill.
"Quaint and Quiet"
This resort offers visitors beautiful mountain views on one side, and harbor views on the other. Each building offers a variety of units, many with small kitchenettes and living areas. This resort has dining and shopping venues within walking distance, however a car will be needed in order to access the grocery store, pharmacy, aquarium, beaches and hiking trails. For a quiet, restful weekend, this resort offers plenty of space for reflection and rest.
"Rough start, nice hotel"
I wish I could give this hotel 3.5 stars. I think that would be a very fair assessment. We arrived at 3:40 and were told our room wouldn't be available until 4. We arrived back at 5:30 and checked in. Check in was fine. We were warned of the 60 gallon hot water tank if we used the outside tub. We got to our room to discover that outdoor tub had not been drained or cleaned from the previous occupant. There was a dirty water/pink bath bomb ring around the tub and a dirty towel next to it. We asked for another room. Instead, the front desk clerk came to the room to clean the tub. I was still grossed out enough not to want to use it. While the front desk clerk was cleaning our tub, a couple walked onto the lobby to check in. No one was around to get them. Not sure what happened in the end with their check in. After the tub incident, we discovered that we had about 8 squares of toilet paper left on our roll with no extra. My husband ra down to the front desk and got some more. We were also given a bottle of wine for our trouble. The room itself is very spacious with a nice view of the Ucluelet Harbour. There is no walkway that connect the two. It was about 25 min to walk from our room to the Co-op in town. Later on, we discovered a few other missed details that prevent me from giving this hotel 5*. * there was a dirty bathrobe left behind on the bathroom hook from the previous occupant * there is a metal piece missing from the front of the fireplace * there was a big dried up poop near our sitting area outside. Either a big dog or maybe wild animal? *we found a leftover bag of snacks with an ape and misc garbage inside the kitchen cupboard *upstairs unit was noisy for us The front desk staff tried to make us happy as best they could. However, there were just too many small details that were neglected. This hotel is better priced than many others in the area. There is a full kitchen etc, do value for money is good. It is not a luxury stay though.
"Fabulous location "
This suite surpassed our expectations. There were so many large windows to enjoy the wonderful view. Very nicely furnished with Adirondack chairs on the patio to further enjoy the view. Staff were extremely helpful, especially Abbey. Robes and extra towels were also provided. DVDs were available to borrow as well.
