"Quiet, comfortable, and a great place to relax."
Despite the resort being full of guests, I was surprised that we didn't hear any of our neighbors at all during our stay unless you count a few of the sea birds. It is quite possibly the most quiet hotel I've ever stayed in. The beds had very comfortable mattresses (and I'm picky!) with no lumps or springs and there were soft or firm pillows on each side to choose from. Our condo had an upgraded kitchen with newer cabinets than the website had pictured so I was pleasantly surprised, and it was stocked with all the supplies we needed to cook with. As an added touch there is a dishwasher, because nobody wants to spend their evenings on vacation doing hand dishes. We have typically stopped in Ucluelet only for gas and a bite to eat on our way back from the west coast of the island but I think we will make this a regular visit every year from now on. An entire day in the outdoor elements can be a bit much for children and even an islander like myself, so it's nice to have the option to get away from the wind and sand and have a warm bath and a bit of TV in bed. This is a great spot to get away to, it has all the comforts of home but is just a short drive to the beaches and parks and the hidden gems in Ucluelet. Maybe even better than home, as it has a gas fireplace and a hot tub on the deck? I also loved the hand made craftsman style bathroom vanities and mirrors. The room has a nice atmosphere; warm and welcoming without being rustic or stuck up. We were treated to a family of otters catching fish just outside our window in the morning and we left feeling relaxed and pampered.
"Nice Location /"
Stayed at this property for 3 nights in October, 2016. It was about $300/night and we had a two bedroom condo. The unit was very nice - very spacious with a nice deck overlooking water. What you get is a unit - this is not a "hotel" in the traditional sense. There is no breakfast, housekeeping, etc. included with price. As mentioned, they do not provide housekeeping service but told us we could stop by office to get towels, etc. if we wanted. Office does not open until 10:00 but check out is at 11:00. For the price we paid - property advertised as a hotel, not a condo - I would like to have better services. Also, there is really no wifi / internet. They told us it would be spotty and did not mislead us so that is good. Our TV in the main room was contained in a unit with closed doors. When we opened the doors to watch TV it was difficult to see the TV unless you were sitting directly in front of it. There was no TV in either bedroom. Kitchen area was clean and they provide coffee pot, packets for coffee, filters, etc. We went to a local grocery store and brought back eggs, bacon, bread, etc. for breakfast, snacks, etc. This is a remote area and people need to understand that. The primary recreational activity is hiking. If you are looking for some serious quiet time - as in away from internet - this is a great. We wanted to see the area and it is very nice. Our primary concern and the reason for the 3/5 rating is because the service was simply not very good. I suspect if we asked for someone to stop by each day they would have done so - I think their intentions are good and probably feel people want to be left alone. I would be willing to stay here again if I were in this area as I think it is probably better than most of the smaller places (just guessing). It is clean and I appreciate that. Next time I would be better prepared in terms of expectations and would probably step into the office and stock up on towels. Again, people were very pleasant and this is a fine place to stay. You just need to understand what you are getting. This is not a traditional hotel situation but more of a self contained condo type unit.
"This hotel is overpriced for what you receive"
We stayed here for two nights in September. There was no housekeeping service while we were there, received a double bed and had ordered a king. It was very uncomfortable. It was quiet as we had driven a long way that day. The clock radio in the bedroom area was broken. Kitchen taps leaked. Really in need of some TLC. We would certainly not recommend this accomodation and would not stay there again.
"Very disappointing - it has seen better days!"
This is a lovely location, but for over $300 per night I expected much more. I did not expect an old and uncomfortable bed, nor peeling paint on the outside deck, kitchen cupboards that could have used a really good cleaning and bugs flying in the windows at night because of no screens. I noticed, looking through the windows of other units, that there were new beds in some of the suites. A decent bed would have made an enormous difference. The sofa bed was no better - even trying to sleep on top of the duvet, you could feel the springs poking through. This 'resort' has definitely seen better days.
"Loved our home away from home"
It's been awhile we have been over to the West Coast. These places in Ucluelet are beautiful excellent location, fully equipped, well maintained. Enjoyed picking up free movies whenever we wanted to watch one. Very friendly check in. The only issue we had was WiFi it was non existent! Unfortunately it rained a lot for the 2 days we were there, so we spent a lot of time in our room. The facility does not have a restaurant on site which really wasn't a problem as there are really good restaurants close by. Because of all the rain we really didn't get to enjoy the area and all it has to offer. Thank goodness we loved the place we stayed at.
