"Can't fault it"
The resort itself is surprising secluded in the beautiful Canadian mountains. We had a private cabin, which was of a high quality and well priced. The on-site restaurant food was of a good quality (made more enjoyable by the accompanying views!). All in all, of the number of places we stayed on out travels through Canada, this one surprised us the most. Good value for money in a beautiful secluded setting!
"A great place to stay"
The setting for this resort is perfect. We were a little concerned about the need for a raft then a long drive off road but there were no problems. The raft was a real adventure and the road the other side very driveable. The resort was a delight. The cabins are really cosy!! We loved the restaurant and had a good, reasonably priced meal. My favourite was the smoked duck breast spaghetti.
"Remote Log Cabin and Lake"
What a great place, Log Cabin for two was cosy and close to Lake, enjoyed use of free boat and canoe hire. Very relaxing sitting in a canoe at dusk watching brown trout jumping out of the water, whilst dragon flies flew around us. Got some great images in slow motion of the fish and the dragon flies. Followed by a delicious meal in the restaurant on the patio overlooking the lake. Magical place, only sad we didnt see any humming birds or the besr cubs. Dont be put off by the drive in up the dirt track, its a reasonable surface and on departure after a hearty breakfast, we had a great recommendation to exit and leave the resort down the other side of the mountain and used the free, manned chain ferry to cross over the river to Little Fort which shaved 60km off our journey.
We were a little septic as to how remote this was, but we enjoyed the winding road to this tranquil oasis in the middle of forest and lakes. The 2 bed family log chalet was very comfortable and spacious and well equiped. We enjoyed our free canoe trip on the lake, and loved the silence and nature of this place. When leaving after 2 nights we were provided with very usefull info and plans to continue our 2 weeks road trip through W Canada.
"Fabulous tranquil place to stay"
Reviews are very subjective, what is a negative for one is a positive for others. We stayed here for a week so had the chance to fully experience everything offered. Arriving at the gated entrance, with flags flying, often representing the Countries of those visiting, we received a hugely warm welcome from Tracey. We stayed in a one bedroomed chalet very close to the lake. Superior in many ways to others we had stayed in over 3 weeks. Beautifully appointed and comfortable. With a stunning view, this is a delightful peaceful place to stay. The high standards set by Managers Tracey and Wolfie were reflected in all their staff and very pleasing to see such willing, friendly and hard working young staff whose attention to detail was excellent. We enjoyed walks and we fished, boated and photographed. Seeing a bad eagle, beaver, musk rats, and catching a glimpse of' Donkey' the bear. The Boathouse for 'happy hour' was most enjoyable and a time for meeting new people and sharing experiences. Dinner was excellent. Others have mentioned the road getting to the resort - yes part is paved and being repaired, the dirt road is easy to drive on - it is just a means to an end to get to this idyllic spot. Well worth the drive. Buy a few groceries in Clearwater from the excellent store to save a drive up and down if you want to self cater. Yes wi fi is spasmodic, but it is only a few minutes to pop up to the office to get connected. Some view no wi fi as a bonus on holiday! We could not find fault with any aspect of this resort
