"Very nice location and beach"

The hotel and its rooms are quite worn and run down. The general areas are OK, but also a little worn. The pool areas are nice and restaurants are also nice. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. Very nice beach

"Worst Hotel Ever Stayed in after visiting 20 countries"

If you enjoy no water for showering or no working toilets and air conditioners that flood your room - this is your hotel. Even better is the complete lack of honesty and willingness to offer a refund - you have found your place. Absolutely the worst food, worst maintenance of any place I have ever stayed in over 20 countries. Please put the place out of its misery and pray for it to go bankrupt so other peoples don't have their money taken by this fraud of a "resort"

I stayed here before with good memories together with a bicycling group and chosed this beautyful resort in orther to celebrate my birthday together with my lovely children. We all enjoyed the stay in spite of one day with some rain and heavy wind. The beach was closed, but we had plenty of activities to do inside the resort.

"keep away"

dirty, water explode in the room and nobody bother to repair so sleepless night, food is not good at all, and unhappy staff.it is a all inclusive hotel but after the first night didnt eat in the hotel again... wifi is not good very slow.. need to buy a card ( 2 euro for 1 hour) make sure you log out otherwise you finished your wifi time! nice beach to swimm, but by 2 pm no towel was left on the hut! even it is winter not enough towel tells me more about summer !! you can have free drink on the beach which is nice.. ı wouldt stay in thi shotel again, ı recommend to stay in trinidad city, it is a lively town, may be try one of the local houses sure will not be worse than Brisas hotel! safe box in the room was broken too..

"Really more a 3.5* but Good Value for those of us on a Package Vacation"

My advice is DO go to Trinidad. The music, some magical bars and restaurants - its a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for heavens sakes - you can't go wrong. Drink up the culture, the views, the beautiful light. You might as well stay at this hotel. The beach is great; the people are nice. Its safe and everything is here that you need. I see that a recent review was written by someone whose plane was late and they didn’t get to the hotel until 8am. We were on that plane going back to Toronto – which meant we spent all night in the Cienfuegos airport, arriving in Toronto at 9:45am Monday instead of Sunday midnight. One good thing I have to say is that the tour company (HolaSun) reorganized ground transportation and kept us at the resort until 11:30pm instead of picking us up at the original time – 4pm - and THEN telling us that our plane was going to be 9 hours late. That doesn’t always happen. We went back to the beach, and later, the bar! and made the best of it. This was our 2nd visit to this hotel. We like the proximity to Trinidad and the great beach. It’s one of the few places that we’ve found in Cuba where you can enjoy actual Cuba AND the relaxation of a resort. The variations in these reviews could be due to the Canadians who come for as little as 750 Cnd$/wk for EVERYTHING, including flights - which is ridiculously good value (and so we don't have crazy high expectations) and those who come with a group or independently from the US and Europe, pay more and naturally have higher expectations - maybe? just a thought. I think if I were paying the real rate for this hotel, I’d be quite unimpressed; as it is, however, I’m not, so yes, its good value. Obviously. There was sometimes no water – and never was it warm - but we have a lot of hot water coming out of our tap in Toronto and no sunshine and no seashore so we decided not to fuss about that and just went swimming and showered in the outside shower. It seems that you have a better chance of getting water in some room blocks than in others. However, you also want to be far from the noisy music in the pool area so you kind of have to pick and choose. Our room - ocean front - was well kept and quiet, always enough bottled water, our king size bed (known as a “matrimonial” bed - hilarious) was fine, the bartenders were attentive, the espresso was on tap and delicious. We don't know if the safe worked and we don't know if the TV worked. Its safe in Cuba (and at this resort) and we can't imagine watching TV when we could be, well, in Cuba. The food – hmmm, at the Mediterranean a la carte, things have gone downhill, unfortunately. It’s like you order something, then they go downstairs, get some food from the only lukewarm buffet, put it on the counter until its cold and put lots and lots of salt on it and then bring it to you. I couldn’t eat it and I’m a person who has no qualms adding salt to my food. There is no microwave for re-heating. We asked. Yikes. Nothing wrong with the house wine, though. Its yummy enough. The other restaurant is outside, it’s still buffet style but better than the main indoor restaurant and the staff are really attentive and fun. Sr. Osmani – the public relations person – organized a reservation for us at the next hotel – the Ancon - “Pescadoro” or something. It was good. Its kind of cool that you can go to the other hotels along this beach with your bracelet. If this hotel loses Sr. Osmani, they’re going to have a problem. He’s a really great trouble shooter – honestly, I don’t know how he puts up with us tourists. He is so polite and helpful. We went into Trinidad twice for dinner and to explore. Have fun!
