Een bezoekje aan het magnifieke Casa Dupont; men kan er tegenwoordig verrukkelijk dineren of van een drankje en het uitzicht genieten in de bar.

Meliá Las Americas

Uiterst sfeervol resort hotel.

Over Meliá Las Americas

Shows en entertainment. Winkeltjes, 24-uurs roomservice, beautysalon.

"Beautiful Resort"

   18-08-2017
We stayed in Melia Las Americas in July, beautiful resort and the beach is clean, water is crystal clear. Room: Tired but very clean. If money is no issue book the renovated bungalow - beautifully designed. They offer a special for upgrade during our stay, the only reason we didn't take up the offer is the distance to the lobby. Its a bit too far with the summer heat. Elizabeth at the reception was so helpful and patient in showing us the bungalows and sea-view rooms. Food: Food at buffet was good, I esp like the grill section, where u choose the fresh meat and fish for BBQ/grill. Speciality Restaurant Teppanyaki Terrible food. Sushi - dry and no taste Teppanyaki - basically the so call chef, stir fried very small pieces of beef, chicken and shrimp together and served on the plate with fried rice. Fried rice was tasteless and meats were over cooked. They should do like the grill section in the Buffet - grill meat and fish individually to maintain the freshness. Drinks Lots of choice of cocktails. Margaritas and mojitos my favourite Wifi Only available in the lobby by purchasing a card for 1.50 CUC an hour. With 5cuc for the day, you can take a hop on bus to town. Overall a very nice stay.

"No Worries"

This was our fourth visit to Melia Las Americas (MLA). As per usual we certainly enjoyed our visit. As mentioned in previous reviews, the friendly nature of the people is one of the top reasons Cuba is our top holiday destination. The beach is amazing and is one of the main reasons why we keep coming back to MLA. It was also nice to see our friends Roberto and Lirienna again and catch-up on the past year. Our Maid Maria Isabelle did a remarkable job of keeping our room tidy and clean. Her pleasant temperament was also appreciated. The Buffett once again offered a variety of offerings. We were disappointed that very little sushi was offered. In the past the sushi chef was present several nights however we did not see him in the 10 nights we were there. The a la carte restaurants did not disappoint. The Japanese and the Arcadia were our favourites. As mentioned in one of our previous reviews we love the night time shows. However we have to say once again that have become somewhat repetitive. I can't believe that they have some of the exact same shows we seen 4 years ago. Its time to change it up guys. One of the aspects about the shows that we don't want to change is the excellent service we received from Castro the amazing waiter at the theatre. In summary we love Cuba and we love MLA. The people and the place are amazing. We however will not be returning to MLA in the near future. The repetitive nature of the shows, which add so much to the night life of this resort, has resulted in us choosing another resort for our next visit.

"To everybody and especially to Mr.Bernard Meyer Director General/General Manager Melia Las Americas hotel"

I gave just returned from my trip to Cuba and i am eager to give my impressions concerning my stay at Melia Las Americas hotel, Baradero. As a matter of fact I have enjoyed it very much. The sea is warm and pure and you have a lot of sunbeds and parasols at your free disposition. The beach is not crowded clean and you can do jogging you wish. The cuisine is perfect and I have already given my compliments to the chef of La Arcada. I also want to thank my chambermaid Miss Maria Isabel. She managed to do her modest work perfectly and not to disturb my writing on a small book on my speciality. I can recommended Melia Las Americas hotel to everybody who looks for a peasfull and comfortable place where one can rest, play sports at day time and at evening hear real music including Verdi and Shopen. Although someone who can do with usual musical trash can revel in it in lots of bars))) Professor, Doctor of science V.Kapalin

"Great hotel to switch off and forget about your cares!"

Having never done All-inclusive before I had high hopes, and Melia Las Americas didn't disappoint. It's a busy hotel so check in can be busy with big groups arriving at the same time (so do be prepared to be patient) but the staff are very professional and work as swiftly as they can. We were able to have lunch and relax at the bar while we waited for our room and then our very pleasant bell-hop kindly delivered our bags and told us a little about where to go etc. Good range of restaurants to book for dinner time, although we ended up enjoying the variety the buffet brought. There isn't much nightlife after the entertainment finishes and the bar that stays open 24 hours wasn't our favourite - but other than that I can;t fault the place. The staff were amazing (those worth mentioning are Raul and Samuel at the lobby bar - and the lovely Yitzsi and Lia, and Manuela at the buffet - but honestly all the staff were very good). The cleaning staff were so pleasant too! We ventured into Veredero a couple of nights too so if you are tempted just to stay in the hotel the whole time - you might be missing out on a great night out!!!! Again, the hotel staff will tell you where to go. Thanks for making our week a very memorable one. Keep up the good work. I'll be recommending you to all my friends going to Cuba. Emma

"Great retreat"

If you are looking for a good rest, comfort and not worrying about anything, this is the place. My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in April in this hotel and have absolutely no regrets. If we could, we would have stayed longer. It was the perfect place to relax. The beach is absolutely dreamy, with calm turquoise water, white sand, plenty of loungers and sunshades for you to pick. There is always a pleasant breeze and no music going on in the background. This is an adult-only resort, meaning that if you want to party, you can, but if you are looking for a quiet time, you will find it too! The hotel has many different pools and lounge areas. Our room faced the "last" pool, which was also the least busy one, and was very close to the beach but far from the main beach bar, which gave us more privacy and it was quieter. The pool next to our room also had a bar with fewer options than the main one, but enough for a quick snack, which was great. If you are looking for company and a little fun, you can stay close to the beach bar (but you will have to look harder for a free lounger), where they serve drinks and snacks all day long and host most of the beach activities. Once or twice a week there is the Cuban Day, where they serve barbecue (aka roasted pork, corn on a cob, rice, etc) with live cuban music. It is fun and a good alternative to the boring buffet in the main restaurant. The food is not a highlight, as already mentioned by many reviewers. I would only like to add two remarks: - POSITIVE: during lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, we always tried to find a table "under the arches", where the nicest waiter worked. His name is Marlon and was so kind and attentive we didn't want to be waited by anyone else. We won't forget his charming way of offering "más champán" (more champagne). Kuddos to Marlon! He really made our stay nicer. - (VERY) NEGATIVE: you can dine once at each of the thematic restaurants. None was particularly interesting, but we had a very bad experience at the Italian restaurant. We arrived on time (you must make a reservation in advance, and I made a remark of being a vegetarian) and waited several minutes for the waiter to even come and welcome us. Mind you that the place was 70% empty. Once seated we waited again for a long long time until someone came to ask if we wanted beverages. They took another long time to serve water and wine (which was terrible) and we received a basket of bread after roughly 30 min since we entered the place. The food took ages to be ordered and when it arrived it was really bad. After this spectacle of mistreatment, we decided to leave even before we could finish the plate. Tipping is a big deal in Cuba and we have always left something after every meal. But the service was so poor that we didn't leave anything. Now comes the outreageous part: We went to bed that night and at 1:30 AM our phone rang. I answered it worrying that it would be bad news from home or something like that, but the person on the line simply asked me, in spanish: "Are you Mrs. XYZ?”. I said yes, waiting to be transfered to a relative or something and then he asked "Are you vegetarian?" Numb by my worries said yes once again and the person simply hung up the phone, saying nothing else. It was either a harassment call to annoy us or they wanted to certify which was our room in order to mess with the other reservation we had on a different restaurant. Needless to say, we didn't go dining the next evening in the restaurant we had planned, worried that they might spoil our food or something. That was really upsetting. We stayed in a bungalow and were lucky enough to get one of the new ones and a upgrade from our reservation since there were rooms available, which was very nice from them. It was modern, comfortable, spacious, silend and very clean. It consisted of a living/dining room, a bathroom with a toilet, two sinks and a huge shower (with glass door/wall facing the bedroom, which could be a little awkward for people sharing the room with little intimacy) and a bedroom with two double beds put together, making it a super kingsize bed. There was also a closet with plenty of storage room for suitcases and clothes, a safe and also some extra blankets and pillows (weren't needed). There were two flatscreen TVs (in the living room and bedroom) with a couple of channels, including international newsstations. The room was cleaned neatly and the cleaning lady (Regla) left beautiful flower arrangements daily on our bathroom sink. There are plenty of activities in the hotel, so you won't have to leave it for anything. You can do sports, watch a cabaret show, go to the disco, have fun with a very funny guy that changes his costumes every day and make jokes or just sit back and relax drinking at any of the many bars. Everything is included on the bill (even alcohol, except fancy brands). The drinks aren't spectacular, but are good enough. The bar at the entrance of the main restaurant is a good place to chat and meet new people.
