"Small room for family of 4"
These rooms are seriously small for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). The beds are extremely narrow and close together, so you're basically able to reach over and touch the kids in the bed next to you. Also, there is absolutely NO privacy in the bathroom area - the shower curtain that you can pull across to separate the vanity area from the beds is a joke. Hopefully if you're at Disney, you're not planning to spend too much time in the room though! The buildings are super old as are the furnishings inside the rooms. They truly need to be updated. But, you get what you pay for. This is the value resort, so you can't expect much. Kids will love the pools and the decor if they're into sports. The food court at this resort is at the BOTTOM of my list. I had a hard time finding decent food and ended up sick many times when we ate in the food court. Also, don't ever plan to get an early check-in, even if you do the online check-in and mark "early check-in" as your preference (over floor, location, etc). We've learned this the hard way! They've never even been able to put us in a room within an hour of check-in. This trip was no different!
We had never visited wdw before and only went for all star sports due to the price factor but it was such a great base, everything you need nice big room for the 2 of us and great facilities to. Can't find any faults for the price being a value hotel 2 great pools open late The food court is open till late and love the pizza delivery service to your room Overall an amazing honeymoon
Youth love it. Adults, not so much. Cheap rooms that need updated. Concrete painted walk ways outside rooms that is hosed down daily. Housekeeping unplugs all chargers during the day. One pool was closed during refurbishment. Leans more towards a motel 6 but with Disney shampoo & soaps. Would not choose to stay here again unless significant updates.
"Great hotel for the cost, very clean and offers lots of fun actibities for all!"
As with most things Disney, this affordable hotel on Disney property is very clean and accessible. The hotel rooms at this resort are nothing really special, but they are Disney! The rooms do feature a mini fridge. A small table with two chairs is included in each room. One special thing to note: if you feel the room is too cold and turn it down a few degrees, don't be surprised when you begin smelling heat. The heat will come on to get the room to the temp you want. This hotel has great themed outside courtyards, featuring different sports. Bring your football and enjoy a game of foot ball from the field located in the football courtyard. The pool areas are great at this hotel and the cast members offer games and activities throughout the day. There is a large food court that offers a variety of foods. Breakfast is my favorite meal here. They have really good biscuits and gravy! There is free transportation from this hotel to all the Disney parks. If you don't want to spend a ton on your hotel, but want the complete Disney experience, this is the place for you!
"Better than we first expected "
We have just returned from two weeks at the All Stars Sports hotel. We booked this trip via Thomson in April as a last minute thing without looking at the reviews, which I never do, but it was so cheap & seemed crazy not to book it. When we arrived we had a quick check in, not any queues or problems. Found our room easily, staying on the third floor of the hoops hotel. (Both room requests being honoured from on-line check in). Our first impression was "oh it looks like Butlins" from the style but when we entered the room we was pleased with what we'd booked. Two years ago we stayed at the Disney Caribbean Beach resort and in comparison there wasn't a lot of difference. You just don't get a coffee maker or a USB charger point in the wall by the bed! It was clean, the bed was actually really comfortable and I am somewhat fussy normally! Oh must say the shower was the best I've ever had in a hotel before, so powerful and plenty of hot water. Reason why I've only scored 4/5 is the following: When we got there we wasn't left a single sheet of loo roll; phoned mousekeeping, reception and never got one until the cleaner arrived the next morning. The mousekeeping was a little bit hit and miss. Some times no cups or left or indeed a loo roll etc and sometimes they were were extremely early! But the rooms were cleaned and the beds made well! Once we were left a towel which was so worn I put my finger through it! Hurricane Matthew did put a dampener on our holiday for a couple of days, with the parks shutting and being put on a curfew, but the hotel told us that they had a contingency plan if needed. We were given a flashlight around 10pm on the evening of the storm, but that was all the preparation we had. Nothing from Thomson at all which was a little annoying. Luckily it missed us at the last minute so all was ok. Overall, in my opinion the resort was great. If we hadn't had those few niggles with loo rolls etc we would have marked it 5/5. Close to blizzard beach, AK and HS and McDonald's too. If you want a clean and comfortable stay in a budget Disney hotel, somewhere to just sleep and shower then All Stars Disney Sports is perfect. If you want a bit more luxury then go somewhere else but what more do get and need? My only reason why I would stay in a moderate Disney hotel again next would be for the free DDP. We had this two years ago and this year we noticed just what a difference it was in our spending money having to purchase our food. If you can get the Free Disney Dining Plan then take advantage of this for sure.
