"1st Trip to Disney was a Success"
Rooms were average, but loved the set up for families. The themed grounds were so cute and made for bunch of cute photos. Also, loved the ease of transportation to the Disney Parks. It felt like home for the time we were there. When we had a small issue with our TV maintenance came within 5 minutes of our call, that was impressive considering how an large the property is. Great hotel for a family on budget that wants the Disney experience.
"Will not stay again"
Was so disappointed in this disney resort. We had things going against us from the start- spring break, easter, marathon weekend at the end of our stay, as well as senior trips. We could not go any other time for scheduling reasons with work, so we knew it would be crowded/busy but never expected our hotel stay to be terrible since we were just sleeping there, but it was. The room was clean, beds were so-so, AC worked. It was actually surprisingly quiet in our room. We didn't eat at the resort, so no comment there. Pool was fun for our kids and they played a movie one night at the pool. Our problem overall was with the service. I called for a crib for my daughter, and if she was younger, I'd have pitched a fit with what they brought me. Wrong mattress for the pack n play that they brought (apparently no rolling cribs? They advertise cribs so I had brought my own crib sheet), and their sheet for it was literally a flat bed sheet folded around it. Totally unsafe sleep environment for a little one. I had called 3 weeks prior to our visit to schedule the magical express departure since we weren't taking it to the resort on arrival, gave flight info and all, was told my pickup time and what to do, and 2 days prior to checkout, went to confirm and there was no record of us being set up for the bus. These are just 2 issues among many, many others during our brief stay (4/18-4/22). The staff is nice, but it seems that they're just there to work. There was none of the "disney magic" that everyone talks about that I felt while interacting with anyone there, and I definitely did not feel valued as a guest. Totally went against everything I've heard about when you're staying at a disney property. I do not recommend staying at this value resort at all, or if you choose to do so, ensure it is not a busy time. Maybe that was the larger issue overall- staff being overwhelmed- but it is a freaking disney value resort, they should be used to it! We loved our time at the parks so we will return to disney world in the future, but not sure if we'll stay on property again.
"Too bad the beds are bad"
Stayed here as part of the Dark Side Weekend. The beds a pillows are terrible. It is sad because sleep is the one thing someone needs a hotel room for. I think I got more sleep at Saratoga Springs Spa than in the lumpy double bed. Everything else at the resort is serviceable. Decent pool and food service. Transportation is efficient. Room has a fridge which was a nice addition. Just wish Disney kept its own standard at this hotel. Even though it is a value resort, you're still paying more than a better hotel off property.
Our family of four stayed 6 nights at all-star sports during spring break. We chose this resort for the value and theme. We have two sons ages 5 and 7 who love sports, and they enjoyed the theme. Our room was a preferred room which opened up to the end zone of the football field. This was a nightly gathering place for many and I was concerned about noise, but it was only bothersome one night. Our sons enjoyed the area to run and play and the pools were fun. Everyone we encountered was super helpful and nice! Food service was fine for our family, although we mostly just snacked there. We were on the dining plan and chose other options for meals. However we greatly enjoyed the refill mug, and the drink stations were very efficient and clean with many options. All this being said, it is still a budget hotel. Rooms are small, although clean. Decor in rooms was worn from high traffic. Transportation lines were always long and buses were packed to capacity. The total time to get to parks was about an hour. We will cut costs in other areas next time to splurge on a nicer hotel.
"Mind blowing decor, BUT..."
If you have kids between the ages of 5 and 15, you'll LOVE this place. That's who this place was built for. And that includes sports teams from throughout the world. That in itself is not a problem. BUT...one of the features of this complex is a replica football field, 100 yards long and about 1/3 as wide as a regulation field. There are three stories of lodging units that run along the border of the field, on both sides of the field, about 120 units. These three stories of units form a canyon of sound that holds in any little bit of noise coming from the football field. Here's the problem: There's supposed to be a curfew on the field from 10 at night to 9 in the morning. You're at the lodging to get some sleep and rest, right? The curfew seems very reasonable. Unfortunately, the complex management only enforces the curfew when you go down to the check-in desk and complain. Kids play touch football on the field until all hours of the night. My first night at All-Star Sports, the kids on the field played and made noise after 11 at night! The second night, even after I complained, it was 10:45. Finally, on the third and fourth nights, after I complained, the noise stopped around 10:15. But, I had to go down and complain. Give Todd and Meagan, two Disney cast members, credit. When I complained, they were accommodating. These are two good people. But you had to complain every night. So, if you are lucky to get one of the 1800 other rooms, there will be no issues. But if you get a room bordering that football field, don't expect to get to sleep until sometime after 11 PM, or who knows, later? Note to Disney: Enforce the curfew...without being asked!!!! That would be the "Disney way." By the way: Budget? $162/night. Budget? $99/night? Depends on when you stay there. Best of everything to Todd and Meagan.
