My son and I spent three days there while visiting the local sites. The location is ideal. It is a short walk to the Liberty Bell, Indepence Hall, tour buses and many other sites. We had a double double room. We wound up in an upper floor room with a pretty good view. The staff was very nice. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. The room was nicely laid out with plenty of outlets. The internet was fast and had a good strong signal. There is a 'green program' where they give you a credit for skipping housekeeping services. That worked out well for us. We went with public parking at the Bourse garage. That was close and reasonably priced.
We stayed one night during president day weekend. Check in was quick and easy. Got there early so we checked our bags and the girl said she will call when the room is ready. We decided to take a walk around the city. The hotel is in perfect location for seeing all the historic places. We got the call and went back to the hotel . We got our room key 1031 and was asked if we wanted our bags sent to the room I said ok ( mistake) 1hour went by and no bags . Bags were lost or misplaced after a while they finally dilvered our bags to the room. The bellhop was more then apologetic. He offered us a complimentary bottle of wine and a 50 dollar food credit at there restaurant. Never got the wine and when we went to diner they weren't aware of the 50 dollar credit. After pleading our case. They applied the credit just a big hassle. We velat parked the car for 46 dollars for the night. Our neiboors next door were noisy fighting all night room was small view was ok. Overall for the price of the room it could of been much better.
"There's not a better hotel in Philly"
....and we have stayed in all of them. Never disappointed with the Kimpton brand. Just an outstanding one night stay for us. Booked through Priceline and got a good deal for $90. Staff was terrific at check-in. We were given a king room with a great view of Independence Hall on the 10th floor. The room itself was perfect, loved the decor and it was plenty big enough. The bed was very comfortable and sleeping was quiet. Bathroom was also good size and spotless. Did not use the gym, but it was very nice. We did have drinks at the Red Owl Tavern, but didn't eat. A word of caution that the late night room service menu is extremely limited. We look forward to our next stay at Hotel Monaco.
I love Kimptons and this Monaco was no exception, stylish decor, great service, and a fantastic view of Independence Hall. Before leaving, we had an excellent breakfast in the Red Owl Tavern located off the lobby. Strongly recommend...
What a beautiful hotel! Was in Philly to see a concert last Monday and stayed over 1 night. We had a king spa room. It had a great soaking tub and shower which were all super clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room had terrific little amenities like a Bluetooth speaker/alarm clock, comfy robes, yoga mat, and a steel ice bucket with glass, not plastic drinking glasses. The decor of the room was also very unique and cute and again the whole room was extremely clean and well maintained. The lobby, elevators and front desk/reception area were beautifully decorated and very clean. We loved all the complimentary amenities like coffee and tea in the mornings and hour wine reception in the evenings. And you cannot beat the location of this hotel. All the wonderful historical sites like the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Ben Franklin's Print Shop, etc. are literally just steps away. The hotel offers only valet parking and it was pricey, but there is ample parking in garages the nearby surrounding area. We ate breakfast at the Red Owl Tavern. I had the egg white quinoa omelet and my fiance had the granola/yogurt/fruit bowl and we enjoyed them both. Yummy coffee too. Last but definitely not least, everyone on the staff that we encountered was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. From the front desk, to the valet to the housekeeping, they made a very good experience into a truly wonderful experience. In the future if we are travelling to Philadelphia this is where we will be staying.
