"Ladies' Weekend With All The People"
Just had a fun-filled weekend at the Meritage Resort with some ladies. If you are expecting a cozy, intimate spot tucked away in the Napa vineyards, this isn't it. This is Napa with alllll the people. Go with an open mind and positive attitude and you will have a good time. POSITIVES * We had room 4108 which is in the Bordeaux building and it was spacious enough for our group of 4 ladies. It also has a small back patio with 2 chairs and a side table. The best part is that it opens up to the back courtyard and is steps away from this hidden gem of a hot tub. * Complimentary bottle of wine in our room (we had two, thanks to the lovely front desk staff). * Main pool/hot tub was clean and no kids allowed! MINOR THINGS WE OVERLOOKED * Luckily, the back patio of our room did not overlook the parking lot. However, we did have a view of the back of a kitchen? Or some service-y kind of area. We were able to forgive this because it was so quiet where we were and there were outside chairs and couches and did I mention the hidden hot tub? * Housekeeping didn't replenish the coffee cups or bottled water every day. (Otherwise did a great job). * Going to the swimming pool at 4 pm on a hot Saturday... everyone else had the same idea. It was tough getting lounge chairs for our group. But at least the pool at the Meritage had NO KIDS and was full of grown-ups (couples, friends) - no rowdy frat party, at least when we were there. (The property has a family friendly pool over at the Bello Vino side). * It was nice to have a free shuttle to downtown and our shuttle driver was always so helpful. However, you can't see the outside through the shuttle windows. The big advertisement sticker all over the windows makes the inside of the shuttle so dark and we had no idea where we were going. COULD HAVE BEEN DONE BETTER * The hidden hot tub at Bordeaux building never had towels replenished nor was tidied. We first went on on Friday evening and by Sunday morning, the towel tray was still empty with the same used towels as Friday, as well as the same chip wrappers and plastic cups. (The hot tub itself was great!) * While it was nice to have outside furniture in the courtyard, housekeeping never picked up the trash people that left behind for the whole time we were there. * The bathroom needs towel racks. There was only 2 hooks behind the doors. OTHER THINGS TO KNOW The Meritage is in a business park complex, just off the highway. We weren't affected by the highway or road from where we stayed; I couldn't tell we were close to the highway. But it may bother some people. They are building more of the resort across the street, so there is potential for over-crowding. FYI for those who want a get-away from all of humanity. The location is maybe ten minutes from downtown Napa. Honestly, Napa is a pricey place as is reflected upon the cost of the room. Is it the Ritz Carlton? No, but I am assuming Ritz Carlton of Napa (is there one?) would be twice the price. I think the price keeps out the trashy college kids. If you can overlook the size and location and be lucky enough not to have a room with a view of the parking lot, then you will have a good time at the Meritage.
"Wedding and Wine tasting room "
The Meritage is a great place for a wedding of just a weekend wine tasting trip. The resort has allot to offer on the property. Crush Lounge and the bowling alley is a must visit Don’t forget your swim trunks for a dip In their heated outdoor pool
"To be or to want to relax and to Live"
Spa Terra everything as advertised. Relaxed, remember, rinse—and repeat for another day. Let not the sun go down and your anger of this world is still around. Spa Terra can fix that itch you have— remove this worlds itch off just for a little while.
Disappointed in the rooms and amenities. Great conference, but unfortunately the the experience of the resort left little to be happy about. Very dated rooms, horrible mattresses and service at restaurant was sub-par. The service and food at Crush was good, however. When you are at a resort looking for another resort, that is not good. Best way to describe it is that this place is a kicked up HoJo with robes!
"Average hotel, very nice staff"
I stayed here for two night for business. The majority of time was spent in a large conference room, which was pretty standard. The food for our large group was surprisingly good and the wine selections were also very nice. All the staff I interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful. The property and rooms were quite average compared to others I have visited in the wine country where there are some exceptional places to stay. It had that planned community wanting to be Italian feel. There was also a lack of attention to cleanliness - food and garbage in the hotel hallways for hours. I was pleased to find Fresh bath products in the room, which were a nice touch. I ordered a small smoothie and small latte in the cafe - which came out to $18! The smoothie was delicious, however.
