"Great server at Crush Bar"
We enjoyed our girls weekend at the hotel. Crush bar was our favorite spot on the resort. With the bowling alley and shuffleboard table. Our server Myla was amazing. She was friendly, informative and just made the experience enjoyable. We appreciate her boss Rickey for moving her station so she could be our server.
"Nice place if you need a corporate hotel - not in the heart of Napa"
This hotel was clean, beautiful and comfortable. The shuttle service to the town of Napa was certainly a plus. The staff was accommodating and friendly, however the actual hotel isn't well represented on their website. They are outside of the town of Napa in an industrial park. Not the quaint Napa experience we were looking for. Along with the corporate feel came the corporate charges - a fee was tacked on for incidentals at the start of the stay. We were not told about this, it simply appeared on our receipt. The hotel had a convention of sone sort and attendees were predominantly men, which sadly made it feel a little unbalanced. Massages are top dollar, with tip starting at $170 - we decided to cancel. The "cave" seemed way more authentic on the website. In reality I t was pretty contrived. All in all, they do their best, but if you want a true Napa wine experience, consider staying in Rutherford, St. Helena, Yountville or somewhere closer to Napa Valley.
Our families came from NJ from 2/17-2/20 to surprise my niece and her soon to be fiancé who traveled from North Carolina. It was a long trip and after a few road detours due to the non stop rain and flooding in Ca. we finally arrived at our hotel cold, wet and tired only to be informed that our rooms in one of the buildings was without power. Celine Rihn, the front office manager, quickly came to our assistance and chose 4 rooms for us. We were disappointed because we wanted balconies but Celine said if the power came back on the next day we could switch. She was WONDERFUL the entire time we were there! The rooms were clean and beds are soooo comfortable. Staff was wonderful. The breakfast buffet in the dining room was plentiful and delicious. The next day the power was back on and as promised Celine took us over to the next building to check out the rooms with balconies. Since the weather was still questionable and was supposed to rain again on Sunday she could not guarantee the power would not go out again but she would accommodate us any way we chose! Unbelievable young woman! I have traveled extensively over the years, in the country and out, and I have NEVER MET ANYONE like Celine who went above and beyond for us! Fabulous resort, wonderful staff and the best front office manager! Thanks Celine for making a very special engagement weekend one we will NEVER forget!
"Mom Daughter Napa 2017"
Our room was on the 3rd floor. Room was beautiful and the resort was great. We had dinner one night at the restaurant on property. Usually, not a fan of the hotel restaurant, but this was fantastic. We had a Brussel sprout salad (maybe it was a Side dish).... Scallops and Pork Chop - ALL wonderful. the Brussel sprout dish was really good. We went to the Spa onsite, and really had a great experience. I had Mercer - great massage therapist!!
"Misfortune at Meritage"
What a difference 5 years can make! I booked a room at the Meritage for a much anticipated special gals get together---to what used to be a favorite spot in the wine country, only to be grandly disappointed. This hotel is NOTHING like the pampered experience I have had in the past... A few years ago, we were offered excellent service: from the valet, front desk staff, winery tasting room, and luxurious spa treatments. That was then, this is now: no more perks. No special coupons for birthdays or celebrations. Five years ago, we received discounts for access to in-room or restaurant dining, various health and beauty treatments, wine tasting, and more. Then, we felt special and pampered. To make matters worse, although the reception staff had informed us that it was fine to divide up the room charge at the end of our stay (there were 4 of us), the credit card they required at check in would be only used for "incidentals". Instead, my card was charged the ENTIRE bill, which caused my account to accumulate a series of overdraft fees...all of which I was unaware of until I arrived back home a few days later. When I called to complain about the misinformation and inefficiency, the manager was rude and defensive, rather than sympathetic or apologetic. I can NOT recommend a place that makes the patrons feel like just another number, just another body, rather than a cherished and valued customer.
