"Our home on the beach"

This makes trip #4 to the pineapple, and our 10th to Jamaica. We love the feeling that floods our senses when we 1st arrive, doesn't matter if it's perfect weather, or liquid sunshine, the staff here are family to us, and each visit is a reunion, and a blessing in our eyes and hearts. I can't say enough about our connection to this place, even though we have stayed 5x at Couples properties in Negril, this brings the comfort of an AI stay, without the pretense of the pricier places (and their guests). It's the perfect location on 7 mile beach that you can immerse yourself in the real Jamaica, without feeling like you are missing out on all that you paid for.We like going on Lenbert's pub crawl, but don't feel like it's a "must do" anymore, because most of the people doing it are experiencing the only time in their stay where they are "leaving the compound". At GP, we can experience Negril itself, for all it has to offer, and still have great food and drink available if we blow our cash budget. Speaking of the food, GP gives you the opportunity to eat GOOD, FRESH, LOCAL eats ,all the time, while still having enough "safe, continental food" for the squares. We love that now they are offering patties on the buffet several times a week, normally we had to get them from Norman the patty man on the beach if we wanted them at all without making a trip somewhere (I still recommend giving Norman a try).I have to acknowledge some of the wonderful staff that make our stay so wonderful. The wait staff, Ruth Ann, Tameka, Joseph, Jacqueline, Deloris, Omar the entertaining egg man (I'm the walrus), the 1st faces we see upon arrival, the stunning Kerry Ann, and Jefroy; Watersports guys Chadrick and Oliver, Derwin the GM, Ghavri the bar manager(congrats on the promotion), and who can ever forget the talent behind the bar, Neiko, Orane (pleasure meeting you guys this trip), and my beautiful star, Marvette, whose smile and charm is warmer than the Jamaican sun;Courtney my friend the talented wood carver, and everyone else who I haven't mentioned, you make this place magic. Are there any negative things to say about GP?....none that bother mentioning, except maybe, the occasional disappointed ornry guest, that expected more amenities than they paid for. I see improvements happening before our eyes, like new A/C units (the good split cartridge kind) being installed, wife was happy to see more and nicer stand up paddle boards, and all day coffee available. This isn't a ding, but with all the posts for hammocks there (at least 3 sets)...some rope or canvas hammocks to go with them would be a welcome one time (or few times) low cost nice thing to have. If it's a liability issue, I would think porcelain tile on 2nd story balconies with rain is a bigger worry. Will we be back...As long as we are blessed with the means and opportunity, you betcha...One request I have from Sandals....PLEASE don't ever consider selling or closing this place, even if you keep 100% of the staff, Beaches & Sandals is not our style, this place is OUR HOME.

"Real Jamaica"

We came on holiday here 5th May to 20th May not quite sure what to expect. We have been to Jamaica several times in past years always to small established authentic type hotels. Well Grand Pineapple ticked every box. Small quaint and definitely full of Jamaican vibes and a very Jamaican style property, beautiful in every aspect. A warm welcome from all the staff who are friendly always have a smile on their faces and always there to help you with anything. Our room was clean tidy and had a very Jamaican feel to it. It had a TV, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and iron board and not forgetting a safe free of charge. You can get a fridge stocked or not by request paid direct to the hotel. The shower is great always hot when needed and no problems with pressure. The gardens are immaculate well tended by staff daily. Also sprayed 3 x weekly to stop mosquitoes which worked a treat. The food again is very Jamaican but there will always be something for you to choose from and they have a different themed night. However it is on a weekly turn around which is okay as many Americans & Canadians only go for a week, but as we were there for 2 weeks there was a repeat. Upon saying that it didn't really bother us as there was plenty of choice. If you didn't like what was there you can ask chef to make a burger or hotdog with salad and fries. The food was always fresh and full of flavour. The waiting staff were fantastic more than happy to get you anything a big thank you to Tameka, Jacqueline and Joseph who served us whilst there were fantastic and a pleasure to get to know. The bar staff well there wasn't a cocktail they couldn't make and always happy smiling and chatty thank you Neiko and Marvette who were fantastic and stuck in my head but also thank you all to all the other staff I have forgotten to mention. The beach just in front of the bar is part of the fantastic 7 Mile beach. It was like being in your own part of paradise clean clear and so inviting water. Thank you to Peter the beach guard who looks after that part of the beach and stops the local vendors from pestering you. However you only need to say no thank you to them in a kind and respectful way and they go away. Thanks Oliver for keeping the beach clean and tidy and being the life guard. If you do go here don't forget to try out some trips via Captain Moses and his lovely crew on the beach front. The trips are worth every penny. We also met the Operations Manager Derwin who was a very nice person to chat to very easy going and enquired about our stay. He has a very good relationship with his staff as we saw him chatting and laughing with them which was nice to see. Would we recommend this little gem of a hotel in paradise YES 100% ++. You get a real feel for Jamaica here with its buildings and especially the lovely staff. Would we return YES 100% and I can't say that about a lot of other holidays. Thank you Grand Pineapple staff for making our holiday so special.

"Awesome place in Negril"

This is the first time staying all inclusive in Negril in 12 years going. This was by far the best place stayed while there. Staff was phenomenal from the start. Marvette and Neko at the bar are awesome!! Food was excellent for being buffet style. Hamburgers after lunch ordered were very good snack in middle of day. Bring a large cup for beer on tap for all day drinking :) We had oceanfront room on bottom floor in a cottage by the hot tub. Best room available in my opinion close to bar and restaurant and beach. We are returning again already in November. Gotta love this place. Will keep returning and bringing friends. More review coming later...

"As expected based on others reviews"

As many have stated; 1.) The resort is older 2.) The food options are limited compared to larger resorts (and you eat outside all of the time) 3.) The staff is great; since it is a smaller resort you get the chance to really visit with them and learn about the culture there. We spent a lot of time at the bar and had really good conversations with Neiko and Orane - great guys! You also get to know other tourists due to the smaller size which is nice. It boils down to your preference. If you want fancy, this isn't the place. If you want endless varieties of food, not here. If you want a room with all amenities that is in pristine shape, nope. For us, we didn't need those things as we have stayed in many like that. We stayed in a beach room (37) which is the closest to the beach/bar on the ground floor. The beach is perfect. We stayed in swimwear 24x7. The drug scene is abundant here. Many work the beach right outside the resort grounds which is a little annoying if that is not your thing. Even if you do not buy from them, they visit with you each day. They try to get to know you. The resort does have security monitoring 24x7. They have paddle boards and kayaks for use which is free and a very nice feature. We used them most days.

"Quiet resort"

We were at the grand pineapple for my daughters birthday and loved every minute! It is a quiet resort with an amazing beach to walk . the staff are very friendly especially Oliver who took us on the sail boat, Charlene who arranged a fun excursion for zip lining and river tubing and Neiko who made the best pina colada and fruit punches (from scratch!) at the bar. They do arrange some local bands for entertainment- but we really liked the time to relax and unwind. George (a Cdn with the most "seniority" there) was annoying but hopefully he won't be there when you decide to go!!
