Over Chateau Versailles

"Stayed here while visiting Montreal for the Leonard Cohen Memorial Tribute concert"
We have stayed here before and it is a great location. It is about half a kilometer walk from the Bell Centre. It is a combination of four stately, century-old town homes. We had a large double room and had no issues with noise, which some have commented about. Service was excellent. My only comment would be about the shower control, which has markings that bear no relation to how it operates. People with mobility issues should realize it does not have an elevator. For that type of access, try Le Méridien Versailles across the street.
"Not as good as previous visits but still very much OK."
We were in a suite for three days. Bed was comfortable, room and bathroom clear. Breakfast is good with a selection of yogurt, cheese, meat, hard boiled eggs and fruit plus bread, bagels, and croissants. The negative items are traffic noise from Sherbrooke (we were on the main floor overlooking Sherbrooke) and the heat-AC unit was very noisy. We ran it high before bed so it didn’t come on overnight. Handles on the drawers were loose, shampoo only on arrival and no replacements, door safety latch lacking two of three screws, and the room cleaning does not include vacuuming. Staff are friendly and helpful including ordering taxis at a specific time. We did hear two other guests complaining about room repairs too. Overall good enough but not as good as we have experienced in the past. Price re,aims quite good.
It is a well located hotel. It has a lot of steps to get in and to your room. Its an historic property that was renovated into an hotel - several decades ago - and that shows. We had a queen fireplace room that looked onto Sherbrooke - some street noise but otherwise fine. the bath room was tine - especially the bathtub. The furnishings in the common sections were interesting and tell of the history of the place. Continental breakfast is included but its a small room - also the card they give you says 'only for one person' but they write on the other side how many people are in your room - it would be stingy to let only one person in your group have breakfast! For some reason, our headboard had a curtain rod attached to the top.
Located at the edge of the old town, the "chateau" is a townhouse converted into a nice B&B. My room on the 2nd floor was large enough for a single person but would probably crowd a couple (even if they got along). Tastefully furnished, clean and quiet. Fast WiFi. The breakfast was OK, provided in the well-lit dining room. Friendly and accommodating staff. Toiletries not replaced the next day; few outlets in the room. Reasonably priced. This being an older house you are at the mercy of your neighbors; luckily, mine were great.
"friendly and well located hotel"
My youngest son and I spent 3 nights and 3 fays at this hotel. Pros are that (1) it is really well located in Montreal with e.g., subways, shoppings and good restaurants close to it and one can also walk (for about 40 minutes) and arrive in the old city; and (2) the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only con is that our room was located downstairs and we heard people walking above during the night. So the sleep was not that great. It is true that the breakfast room is a little bit small, but we never had any problem in finding a space
