"Friendly service and relaxed"
I spent one night in July and found the place to be charming and the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. It is nice in these smaller establishments where you and the staff become familiar to one another. Nice breakfast, lovely patio.
"A place to decompress and be stressfree"
My wife and I just spent 4 nights and 5 days and didn't know what to expect. An old house with so much character. The rooms were dated but clean which added to the charm of the place. As a previous poster wrote yes perhaps it would need some renos but more so spruce the place up. The food was amazing as the suppers with the energetic staff always made sure that everything was perfect and the wine glass was never empty. Tea time was a bonus where sitting on the balcony and not having a care in the world is how vacations should be. I would wake up at 6am go out on the balcony read and have my coffee brought to me. This is the way vacations should be enjoying the peacefulness of the moment and just decompress. We have already made plans to go back next year. Thew garden is a nice walk through even though I feel a little more flowers and shrubbery would help . It is hard not to get lost in ones thoughts at the inn. On purpose we decided no wifi or tv. Being disconnected is good for the soul. Almost seems perhaps those services should not be provided. Just kidding I know there are some who couldn't survive. Go enjoy you wont regret it
"A very tired establishment!"
The grounds and exterior look lovely and the interior has a few interesting spaces but this Inn is really ready for a renovation. The AC units rattle all night long so ear plugs are a must for all light sleepers. The rooms do not have numbers, so you best remember your floor and room name. Because the building is very old, to cross from the upper floors to the front rooms on the main level, you need to go up before you can go down. A funny options for those who are able-bodied, but not so comical if you have hip and knee issues. And speaking of hip & knee issues, the bed heights are excessively high and very difficult to get into without taking a small leap; a step stool would be an appropriate ask. The continental cold breakfast is quite lovely, so don't skip based on how it is described to you. It is worth indulging.
"Exceeded all expectations. European-level hospitality and amenities in beautiful setting"
I stayed 2 nights at the Inn with a friend to wine taste and tour the region. First time in Wolfville and NS. If i lived closer, i would return at least annually as many guests do. The service is truly amazing, and at every turn. The long time owner, Michael, has created a truly European service experience for his guests that is memorable. They notice the little things one may need help with - bringing cold water to the room after we had a long walk, serving our wine outside on the patio or gardens instead of the restaurant, help with tours, etc. The location of Inn is an easy 3 minute walk to town, the food is outstanding with an extensive wine list, the room we stayed in was spacious and almost 2 rooms in 1, and the setting is gorgeous with well maintained gardens. This is also an easy 5 minute walk to the hiking trails. We spent much of our time outside on the veranda or front lawn enjoying the setting while working, reading, and enjoying our wine. Thank you to Michael and team for an outstanding experience.
"Can' wait to return. All done right."
I came to this Inn and stayed one night. The owners spare no expense in making sure their clients have the best of everything. There is an excellent team to serve you from check-in, to dining, to serving afternoon tea, etc. etc. Every staff member is a true professional, with a smile, their sole purpose is to make your stay the best they can. The grounds are so peaceful. You could sit on an adirondack chair and see the water in the distance.A lovely young lady at the quaint check in desk had me follow her through the dining room, to outside, across a balcony, back into the first floor of the Inn. I had a suite. A living room: with flat screen TV and clothes closet, along a long hallway was the entrance to an updated bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub walk-in shower, and the fluffiest bath towels I've seen in a long time at a hotel. The bedroom was a quaint size with an old fashioned double bed, an antique desk and another wall hanging flat screen TV. I did have difficulty getting channels on the TV, I called the front desk, a young man said he would be there in a few minutes, by the time I hung up the phone he was knocking on my door. That's what I call excellent service. He explained they had to switch to digital cable and there was a minor problem he had to fix. I did eat dinner in the Inn. The restaurant has a wonderful menu that made choosing what I would eat, very difficult. Service was outstanding, food was outstanding, the room was outstanding, Dining there was a very pleasant experience. Early the next morning, after my buffet breakfast at the Inn which was very nice, I walked into town which took less than 10 minutes. Wolfville is a charming little town with many interesting stores. The town offers wine tours in season. On the way back I walked a little closer to the water. It was a lovely day, people were out walking and saying hello. The Inn also runs a large gift shop, which will be closing so all was 40% off. That was a real treat. The relaxing drive from the Halifax airport was 60 minutes. Staying at the Blomidon Inn made my time away very peaceful and memorable. Thank you.
