"Historic Inn with charm"
I have stayed at the Blomidon Inn several times now and have enjoyed every time. The rooms are full of beautiful antique furniture and food is delicious. Beautiful views and gardens when the weather is nice. Walking distance to the heart of Wolfville. WiFi coverage and signal were good. My only neutral statement is that the breakfast isn't so good for a diabetic since it is mostly carbs, but they are very tasty carbs.
"Only place to stay in Wolfville!....No literally..I think this is the only place"
This is a beautiful old jewel in a very small town. Right down from a quaint downtown Wolfville. The public areas are beautiful, There is a wonderful restaurant in the Inn. We had an amazing meal there. Service was top notch from start to finish. Rooms were historic. Quaint, but not necessarily practical. You have to sacrifice USB ports for history. It was fine with me. The only negative was that they only serve a continental breakfast. Very surprised at that. Overall, it was a great choice for the price.
"I am willing to grow sea legs to stay there..."
I at first was a sceptic about this Inn, especially when I saw the number of rooms they had, because some of them are out of sight. So, when my wife reserved it I was tempted to think Blow me down? Bloomin den? (Please forgive me , Michael) - until I stepped inside. First impressions definitely blew me down: Tea and cofee and sweets in the afternoon! then I saw our room "off the Bridge": Captain Burgess' quarters it seemed! A very spacious room with plenty of space to move around. Lovely! and nicely decorated. When we couln't get things working in the beginning - it was probably the first time the heater needed running to stave off the cold of our overtired bodies, Mike was right up and used his know how for less than a minute to get the steam rolling. Thanks again, Mike. And then there was breakfast... Shiver me timbers, it was delicious and enough for us and the mates and the whole crew of guests, and when the platters went empty, new ones came from the galley. All in all, Mike runs a tight ship! You better believe we're booking our next passage through Wolfville here, in spite of the greater distance to town than some of the other places. The garden, the space but above all the crew have made true believers out of us: excellent service and so many friendly smiles and faces are refreshing. Thanks again and see you next year!
"No other accommodation in Wolfville is even considered"
I am sitting in one of the lovely parlours at the Blomidon Inn while I type this review. I have visited many times and am happier each time . I'm also happy to see that the Blomidon is doing so well that they have opened a spa and more rooms in an adjacent beautiful property. I have travelled solo this year so am staying in one of their smaller rooms. It is perfect ! Decorated with antiques , spotlessly clean , air conditioned when needed and quiet .Just right for me !The staff here is always helpful and friendly . The owner ,Michael , welcomes all guests warmly . This is a quiet , comfortable oasis in my travels .
This was the best place we stayed at during our 16 day East Coast trip. Our room was lovely with charming details and a new-seeming bed spread and sheets. I loved all the character of the hotel! The only recommendation I would make is to eat somewhere else, unless you have loads of time. The food is actually good, but it took two hours to eat here. We had other things we wanted to do and we wanted to sit on the veranda and enjoy the place, but eating dinner took up our whole night, despite making a reservation 9 months ahead. The kitchen is short-staffed and we waited 45 minutes just to get appetizers. The waitresses are all nice and handled it well, but when you're hungry and have other things to do, a two-hour meal isn't what you're looking for. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, I'd just find a restaurant nearby for dinner.
