"Boutique Hotel with Concierge Service "
One of the highlights of our visit to Quebec was staying in Hotel 71. From the moment we arrived service was prompt and helpful. We were treated to friendly greetings by both the bell hop who took our bags to the room, as well as the concierge who suggested places to eat. Although we did explore the old city we found it hard to leave our high ceilinged room. The extra touches of luxe amenities such as L'Occitane bath products, an in room Nespresso maker, and jazz playing on the wifi made us feel like we were on a private retreat rather than a short trip. Yet, the view from our room and Instagram ready cobblestone streets as soon as the front doors opened and our feet touched the ground, did lead us to wander the old city. We were pleasantly surprised to have found Europe just a few hours from home. Though there's no shortage of good food nearby we ended up eating not only the continental breakfast at Hotel 71, but also two dinners; one in the dining room, the other by room service. In addition we found the hot tea and coffee to go in the espresso bar, umbrellas in the entryway, and valet car service unexpectedly convenient perks that made going out just as enjoyable as staying in.
"Wonderful Final Stop of our Canadian Vacation"
This is an outstanding place to stay. World class all the way. The staff was easy to work with when I made the reservations a month ago and everything was ready when we checked in. Luggage and car handoff was smooth and the explanation by the front desk dealing with the self service wine bar, breakfast and the local area was great. Our room, 729, was huge with great views and lots of light. The bed was extremely comfortable and a nice feature is that a light comes on from under the bed when it senses you getting up at night. The bathroom was nicely done and the only minor complaint is no Kleenex or face tissue was included. The other amenities were good. There is plenty of storage space, small refrigerator and a safe. I am not sure if other rooms have the issue that ours had. There is a slight change in floor level and it is noticeable if you don't pick up your feet. My wife says I have this problem😀. Bottom line-great staff and service. Rooms are wonderful, breakfast is very good and we would stay there again. There is lots to do in the area and this is a great location to work and we lost count of the restaurants.
"Lovely weekend in Quebec City"
The hotel is literally steps away from the heart of the old city. Countless great shops and restaurants nearby. Room was spacious, clean, and we lucked out with a great view. Appreciated the complimentary breakfast, and 24/7 tea/espresso bar. Staff were very helpful! Would recommend this hotel!
"Amazing Property for Romantic Gtaway to old Quebec City"
Spent 3 nights in a 'de Luxe' king room. The entire experience was wonderful. At check in, the front desk agent was extremely kind and helpful in pointing out what to see and how to get around. Everything in Old Quebec was walkable and so easy to get to - take the funicular if you don't want to trek up the steep hill - it adds to the experience. The room was spotless and great for a romantic trip. We chose the luxe category room, which was a great corner unit that was quite large and had a great large bathroom that had a great shower and oversized soaking tub. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. One two of the three mornings, I think occupancy may have been low, so they shared their breakfast setup with the hotel next door, which actually made breakfast even a little better as they offered a full breakfast, rather than a continental, but still included in the nightly rate. Also had dinner in Il Matto one of the evenings - again good food and great service. I don't think I would even want to try another hotel next time I am in Quebec City! I am a big fan of this hotel, and special thanks to Fancine for shipping me the things we forgot in the room after we checked out!
"Service at it's Finest"
Stayed here for 3 nights in May. Rooms are bright, clean and roomy and super quiet. The building is a heritage building that has been completely renovated. Beautiful artwork throughout by artists with disabilities. Cool. Can't beat the location. Easy access to everything in Upper Old Town and waterfront. We walked everywhere. Beautiful art galleries, restaurants and shops abound. The best feature of this hotel is the staff. This group understands service. Everyone we met/dealt with was first class, polite and smiling all the time. I would highly recommend Hotel 71 to friends.
