Well situated hotel in Jasper. The hotel itself has a strange layout for rooms and we seemed to walk through a maize when checking in, only to find our room was situated very close to an exit door on to the car park. Reception staff not particularly welcoming, nor did they ask if we'd had a good stay on checking out. The room was comfortable and had a microwave and fridge. I notice from reviews that some rooms appear to be better equipped than others. Ours was the basic one. I couldn't understand why there was a constant humming noise down the whole corridor and in our room. It felt like we had a small generator in the room. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant. My husband used the gym and said it was small but equipment was well maintained.
We stayed here for 3 nights recently and really enjoyed it. The Hotel itself is on the main street with easy access to just about everything. There is a general store almost next door and the Railway station is just down and over the road. Check in was fast and efficient and all the staff we came into contact with were polite, smart and ever helpful. Our room was at the front of the Hotel overlooking the mountains and the railway ( the noise from the trains did not bother us at all) Watching the day change to night over the mountains was beautiful. We had a balcony with seating and a large room with 2 large beds table desk armchair etc. There was a mini kitchen with kettle, coffee machine, fridge, sink and microwave. The bathroom was well appointed with lovely spa products and the shower was one of the best we have come across. Housekeeping was good and the Restaurant was superb both for the Breakfast (bufffet or main menu) HAVE THE PANCAKES AND FRESH FRUIT..AWESOME. and for dinner at night. Service was attentive without being in your face the staff always had time to pass the time of day and the dinner menu was delicious. Try the signature Yorkshire puddings to start with OMG they were mouth watering. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
One night stay Positives: (1) Fresh, stylish and comfortable room. If this hotel were in a major Canadian city, it would be unremarkable. But it's not. It's in a small town in the middle of a national park so remote that there's no cellphone reception on the highways in and out of town (2) Decent restaurant on-site Issues: (1) Some dirt on the cover of the exhaust fan in the bathroom
"Modest Hotel with Very Accomodating Staff"
We stayed at the Crimson for two nights. Easy walking distance to the town center, grocery store right next door, and train station, visitor center, and restaurants nearby. Decent buffet breakfast, and very helpful front desk personnel. Room is pretty standard fare. Comments about train noise depend on your level of sensitivity....it did not bother us. Note that many of the hotels have similar positioning along the main corridor of the town. Free parking which is a plus.
"Comfortable place to stay"
Hotel is in a good location on the Main Street making it easy to walk to the bars and restaurants. There is also a well stocked supermarket next door. It is across the road from the railway track as are most of the hotels in Jasper but the noise from the trains didn't bother us. Good sized room with a fridge and microwave. Bathroom was small but more than adequate. We also had a small balcony which was a bonus. Unfortunately we could barely make out the mountains as they were shrouded in smoke from forest fires. Our one concern was security. There was a door onto the pavement on our corridor which could be opened from the outside without a hotel key. Not ideal!
