"Arrived in Dallas"
As mentioned elsewhere this hotel is undergoing renovations which affects its rating. Only one out of three lifts working means it takes way too long to go up and down. But once you're in your room it is good. I slept well and the internet worked well. Food in the restaurant wasn't too good so eat elsewhere if possible. I would love to return once the renovations are complete, I can see potential here and hope it is met.
Hotel was easy to find using our GSP. Parking is valet or self park across the street. When we where there they were still renovating the lobby and some rooms. We lucked out and were the first to stay in a newly renovated room on the 4th floor, a corner room. We had a living area with a sofa, tv, coffeemaker plus bar fridge. Bed was very comfortable with nice linens. Walk in shower and great towels. Only surprise....no safe and no where to plug in the coffee maker, we had to put it in the bathroom... The bar in the lobby serves food, staff at was very friendly and help with directions and suggestions. We walked to book depository area and picked up tours from there. It's about a 15-20 walk. We were there during a big football weekend and found the hotel very quiet.
"Super comfy downtown digs"
Great wee hotel right in downtown Dallas. Room was very clean and spacious, staff were very friendly and took care of event tickets I had forwarded there ahead of my arrival. Only criticism is that the bar area felt a little bland, could use some more character.
"Game Day Stay "
We booked this hotel 6 months in advance for the OU/Texas game. It was close to the fairgrounds and the Cotton Bowl where the game was played. They offer a complimentary shuttle within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. Upon check-in I learned that our reservation had been cancelled by the travel company I had booked through. Lucky for us they had a room available and we were even upgraded to a suite for our trouble. We were grateful and thankful. They are still doing renovations but the hotel is still lacking in many ways after being acquired by Hilton. Of the 3 elevators only one was working until the next day when only 2 were workong. Our bedroom was very small but did have a comfortable bed. The living area was bare with no overhead light or standing lamp which made it uncomfortable at night. I asked twice for a lamp but never received one. The thermostat was very loud and made a long clicking noise for a few a couple minutes before setting. There was no microwave or mini fridge so we couldn't bring leftovers from the restaurants we visited. The bathroom was also very small and could not accommodate more than one at a time. The shower also was small especially for my 6 foot tall husband. The bar/restaurant is very understaffed especially for the amount of people who were in the hotel. At one point they couldn't offer room service for lack of help. It is convenient to many museums and tourist spots but we won't be staying here again.
Loved it. The staff were all amazingly friendly, especially Jorge who was very welcoming upon my arrival. I was on the 14th (top) floor and it was so peaceful and quiet. The room was enough for one person and I loved the funky boutique style. Bathroom is small but once again more than enough. The bed was super comfy and loved the USB chargers right next to the bed. Great location. About 20min walk to all the key downtown sightseeing spots and close to lots of restaurant options. They also have a courtesy shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 8 mile radius- just tip the driver. Overall, I can't fault my stay.
